Gary Oldman deserved a double Oscar for nailing the role....his every part was nothing short of perfect....
His every role is perfect
For real. As much as I love Keanu, he acted as if it was Bill & Ted' movie...
Coppola has made so many films you either love or hate. May I add Rumble Fish to the list of my favourites.
As for Megalopolis... I think it is sad he turned into CGI Cinema.
This movie has grown on me over time. I consider it a masterpiece now.
@@track1949 Same here. Absolute joy to watch.
Gary Oldman is absolute class,up there amongst other great British actors, Olivia, Gielgud, Hurt, to name a few- he is always amazing in every role he plays.
That was a truly epic movie scene. One of the greatest Dracula movies of all time for more than just obvious reasons. It gave a slightly altered take on the Count. Making him more a tragic figure, a back story that involves love, loyalty and heartbreak. INCREDIBLE. Garry Oldman truly established himself as an actor who can morph into the most unusual roles. He made a great Jim Gordon also!
One of the most hauntingly beautiful endings for a Dracula movie. No loose ends. Redemption and absolution through love. Saw it in theatre when I was 12, sticks with me to this day. Loved when the angelic choir faded in and she cut off his head just to make sure.
No loose ends!? We're left not knowing what Mina did after, what she was supposed to do, what the others were supposed to do. The book had no loose ends - this does.
@@M.H.I.A.F.T.The way I understand the statement no loose ends is that the arch of the message of the story was about the redemptive nature of Love. You see this whole adventure with Dracula started because he lost someone he loved. He sought war with God for he thought that as a good loyal Christian God should had protected what he loved. The character of Dracula had to learn that hidden aspect of Love which is about loss, suffering and death. Essentially a Christian contemplation on loss. Think about Dracula here as a Jobe like character if your familiar with that Biblical persona. In the end like Jobe he was stripped of everything and had to learn the redemptive side of love. You see, humans walk in ignorance because they believe that the Self, Mind or Soul is something they HAVE but forget that the Divine side of themselves is possessionless. The Bible starts with the darkness, i.e emptiness, calling into existence life not the other way. That's why I also believe this is a no loos end moment. We don't need to know what follows next. All we know for certain is that everyone present was witness to something miraculous, somthing that will follow them for therest of their days. A human realisation that Love and loss, life and death are the same reality of Being.
@@M.H.I.A.F.T. well, at least we know one of them eventually became a boogeyman killer known as John Wick
@@M.H.I.A.F.T.she leaves and marries Harker man what else…same as in book
@@DaDrillSergeant How's that going to work given how fundamentally their relationship has changed since Dracula is the one she loves? Now that Harker is no longer 'the one'? In the book she feels nothing but revulsion for Dracula, the same as the other good guys. No relationship she could have with Harker after the events of the film makes any sense.
"Bram Stoker's Dracula"(1992) is an Epic Vampire horror movie masterpiece! This movie looks like a perfect painting!
@@konstantinoskaragiannis1596 I love this movie
❤
The backdrop is actually a painting and not cgi
Fair play to Dracula, he squared up to John Wick, Hannabal Lecter and Robin hood in his final moments.
Robin Hood; the man in tights.
@@midnightfury4584Tights?
I'm thinking Odin !
Not just any Robin hood. That one can speak with an English accent.
@@midnightfury4584 Right, you'd think they were talking about Costner in Prince of Thieves, lol.
This is by far one of my favorite movies of all time. The love story is amazing in this movie... a quote " I have crossed oceans of time to find you"... utterly amazing movie. There is no equal and the special affects for the time were academy award wining.
Una obra maestra . La mejor y más real versión de Drácula y el libro de Stoker
Gary Oldman said he wanted the part just to be able to recite that particular line!
а сейчас, дракула бы был негр трансгендер, мина феминисткой, а про остальных и подумать страшно ))))
I agreed one of my favourites movies
Well, too bad there was another...
Winona Ryder was so beautiful in this movie.
He was a handsome man
Yes a real peach
why? are you blind? she always has be this beautiful sinces i was a child
@@johnconnors9133 It was Winona Ryder who took the Film Idea to the Studios
El doblaje es pésimo 😂😂😂
This had to be one of the best performances by Gary Oldman and the greatest version of Dracula.
@@cleenlivin the movie terrible. Gary oldman has many better roles
And Keanu's best acting since Bill & Ted.
Amen. He made the film
Gary playing Sid Vicious is my all time fav.
@@ericalger2288 Oh boy…..🤦♂️. He was really good.
Sountrack is amazing. The Annie Lennox tune at the end is a tear jerker still to this day.
Quincey out there doing work. Went down like a boss.
Ending was beautiful. Love always triumphs!
I think this is still the best dracula movie
in some things yes in others no
@lesleyrussell8200 can you explain?
@@chancerydawkins Yes
❤
It's the worst actually!!!
I love this dracula interpretation. In fact, dracula is considered a hero by local.
The absolute best Dracula movie EVER!! Gary Oldman is a methodical actor.
it have cool things but hes not a scary dracula, even with its make up of diferent animals,
Christopher lee was scary, jack palance too or louis jordan
I was a young man back when this movie came out. Simpler times and better movies
if u find a time machine tell me
Simpler times because you were a young man, and better because the industry hadn’t yet been fully industrialised. This was inevitable
I remember watching this as an 8 year old when my uncle got a DVD player this was the first movie I ever saw on it and even then it was a masterpiece I loved everything about it that I appreciated cinema more
One of the best Bram collections, ever put out.😊
I don't know if there's ever been a longer, more drawn-out sunset in the history of cinema.
@mikef.1000 It took 3-5 business days for it to set.
Bedazzled

A cinematic masterpiece!
Quincy was rhe Doc Holliday of this movie.
" Why Vlad Teppish, you look like someone just walked over your grave. We have a game we never finished. Play for blood, remember?"
I’m your Huckleberry
Other than Godfather and Apoc Now, this is also FFC's masterpiece. He deserves to be in the Hall of Fame.
2:35 "She's trying to bring down the mountain! Gandalf, we must turn back!"
Gandalf: "No!"
La petasse a la fin nul 👎
Gary Oldman is so dedicated to his craft that he actually became a Vampire in real life
@@dvader3000 , yup, he was THE Batman before becoming the Commissioner.
No he didnt
The best Dracula Movie out of all of them.
The best Dracula interpretation...
When this movie came out I saw it on the largest movie screen in France at the time. Some years later I wanted to watch it again and decided to buy the DVD (pre streaming) and on leaving my house I found a new sealed copy lying on the sidewalk ! I mean WTF !
Dracula heard your thoughts and wanted you to have it for free.
Hey…I wondered what happened to my dvd
Pay attention to that.

Gary Oldman Is One Of The Greatest Actors To Have Ever Lived.
I always thought the part where Mina starts chanting and those blue circles go up into the sky was so weird 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
That was definitely NOT in the book.
Keanu Reeves' English accent ranks right up there with Dick Van Dykes' in Mary Poppins 😂
“ oh yes”, “it is no laughing matter !”
I loved the cinematography. It was visually beautiful. What killed it for me as Keanu Reeves' British accent, and I wasn't particularly fond of Winona Ryder here either.
Winona's acting is too weak.
@@miracoli16 She was Kristen Stewart before Kristen Stewart
@@suco69 Maybe but a totally different type.
She's hot though ;)

Un film magnifique, avec des acteurs parfaits, qui a bien rendu l'essence du roman , archetype du poême gothique .
Masterpiece.
True love. Forgiveness. Short supply in this world.
To be fair, there is also a short supply of romantic vampires
Quincy went out like a boss. Legend. ❤

Gary Oldman should have won an oscar for best actor. He nailed the role fantasticly
This movie is a masterpiece. ❤
The best Dracula movie

Gothic romance❤
My mother watched this movie all the time when I was a kid. As an adult I get it now lol
Indiscutiblemente la mejor de todas las peliculas del Conde. Ya con los actores que tiene demuestra que es una joya.
"It insists upon itself." lol, I love it though.
Peter Griffin to the family about The Godfather 🤣😅🤣 'It insists upon itself Louis.' 🤣😅🥰 First thing I thought of when I read this!
Imagine all those British folk trying not to laugh while Keanu speaks
Das ist "DER" beste Dracula Film aller Zeiten!Einfach ein absolutes Meisterwerk.Sadie Frost war auch unglaublich gut, sowie alle anderen Schauspieler auch.
Greatest love story ever told
thats not bram stoker dracula...hes not a crying lover, hes evil hes a demon only vampirizes and enslaves...
Was it a better love story than twilight?
@@lesleyrussell8200yeah and this movie is a better interpretation
Unfortunately this can be labeled as my own opinion but nosferatue is a better depiction of dracula while not even being a dracula movie.
Also can't forgive them for butchering my girl Mina as a helpless love interest @cla_6
Quincey was definitely the MVP. Coordinating the chase, calling out plays, riding his horse like a Texas outlaw including two up with Harker, spin cocking his lever action like a boss, single handedly snipped a minion off the carriage from range, spotted Harker when his horse collapsed then boosted him onto the carriage, single handedly snipped another minion off Harker, killed the minion who mortally wounded him and thrust the coup de grace Bowie blow into Dracula's heart. Although, everyone in the quartet pulled their weight. Harker showing off the hussar skills cutting the dead minion loose from the carriage, attacking another minion on the carriage with his saber from horseback and landing a killing thrust. He let out shots from his revolver, although it is unclear if he got a kill off that. Then he got a kukri kill on a minion after they passed the gates and of course Harker's kukri slash to Dracula's throat was huge. I am fairly certain Arthur's revolver shot kills the first minion and then he lands a thrusting kill with his saber on horse back beyond the gates. Arthur also calls out to Quincey when he sees an opening on Dracula allowing him to get the Bowie thrust on Dracula's heart then he moves in ferociously on Dracula to finish him off before being held back. Dr. Seward also shows great bravery calling out the charge at the start of the chase, lunges off his horse with a saber attack landing a killing thrust on a minion, then proceeds to saber battle and most likely kills the remaining minion.
I absolutely love how Americans are depicted by 19th century brittish writers. The canterville ghost by Oscar Wilde is another great example. So so good!
His costume is sublime. Like a Klimt painting
Best Dracula!
This is defo me fav vampire/dracula movie of all time 👌🏽
Ok so wait, Commissioner Gordon was Batman all along? Mind blown.

Me too and me too.

keanu reeves' accent is hilarious
There was a lot more substance to this version of dracula than most
Genius... Sheer genius.
QUINCY DO IT NOOOOOW
Quincy: DIE MONSTER, YOU DON'T BELONG IN THIS WORLD
The best way to end the dracula story. I agree he deserves a redemption.
Brilliant movie 🎥
The best vampire movie ever made

Chef d'oeuvre
Gary Oldman owns this Draula
at the end the whole Draculahistory was an love history combined with terror and a sad ending
After all the horrible things he's done: there's absolutely nothing "sad" here
Cowboy with the horsemanship is the lowkey MVP

anthony hopkins's first performance of horror in the universe of lycans-n-vampires.

Good for Dracula being forgiven and taken home.
It's a great touch that God is willing to forgive even Dracula if his heart is seeking redemption.

If Dracula kept the armor in battle, it would be a bit difficult for the casts to fight him

Being a vampire sucks...
Thats the whole point of being a vampire..
What is Mina yelling?
Great movie. It followed the book pretty closely, except for the Mina/Dracula love story.
6:58 the sword splits concrete yet when Oldman moves after that, it moves the sword around. ? That's quite a feat. The effects dept failed. They should have stabilized the sword so that when he moved, the sword stayed absolutely rigid except for maybe the tiniest of movement so as to reinforce the idea that the sword was in fact down into concrete or stone.
Read the novel and it’s a quick stake in Dracula’s heart, and that’s it. Forget all the melodrama.
Wrong. They stab him in the heart then chop his head off.
@@tendrocksteve and then his corpse became dust
I cant remember did i read the book beore i seen this version but i could see this scene unfolding the sun setting and the chase to the castle seen it in the cinema at the time and the opening scene where he fought the turks and the sky all red impaling them thought it gruesome at the time great version i though the version with FRANK LANGELLA IS EXCELLENT AS WELL.
La mejor version de dracula con diferencia despues de tantos años
This was the basis of my high school creative writing paper. Thank you for the awesome memories! A wonderful love story. ❤
I used to think this retelling of Dracula was a retelling of beauty and the beast but I think it’s closer to an optimistic reading of The Great Gatsby (you can repeat the past) Here redemption comes from profane love whereas in TTG, as in all of FSF’s novels, there really is no redemption for the virtuous hero and profane love is vampiric and ultimately a fatal curse.
8 minutes and 48 seconds of the longest final moments I've ever seen.
