Kubota GL14000 Maintenance Kits

Today we have a nice video showcasing how to perform maintenance on your Kubota GL Series Generator using Kubota’s GL Generator Maintenance Kit. Today we are focusing on the GL14000. The kit we are using can be purchased at your local Kubota Generator dealer. This kit will provide you with everything needed for a maintenance change of your Kubota GL Generator.
Starting off, we are going to open the access door, and locate our air filter. It has 2 clips that hold the cap into place, once the filter is removed, place the new filter in, and give it a slight push so it's snug in the housing, then put the cap back on and latch the two clips on the side.
Next, let's remove and replace the Fuel filter. You’ll wanna have some shop rags underneath to catch the reserve fuel leftover in the cartridge. First, take off the locking ring on top of the Fuel Filter. Once off, take off the filter housing and make sure to keep the spring in the housing, it’s located in the bottom of the housing. Pull down on the red colored fuel filter to release and place the new filter in the hole. Then place the filter housing back over it and tighten the locking ring, using channel locks if necessary.
Lastly, let’s replace the Oil filter. This is located towards the bottom of the engine. You may need a large channel lock or Oil Filter wrench when removing the old filter. Once removed, we’re then going to place the new filter on and tighten.
The Kubota GL maintenance kits also include 1 Gallon of oil. When changing the oil, the GL14000 has a convenient oil drain on the side of the unit just below the service door. After the oil is drained, close up the plug, fill the oil fill, and check the oil level on the dipstick.

I always wonder why they run these diesels at 3600 instead of 1800 which is what nearly all other diesels runs at. Also since it’s Contant run is only 12k it shouldn’t be called 14k. It’s confusing since most people probably don’t realize it. I really like these units but need a true 15k.
