Who knew a box of rocks could be so fascinating, beautiful and entertaining. 😊
Wow, really sweet gifts. Fabulous tumbling.
The agates were our faves but they were all excellent & beatuful. Thank you Northern Rocks ❤
Wow, awesome tumbles!! Very beautiful stones!!👍😎👻🌶️
Those tumbles are incredible! I love the mahogany obsidian and this is the first time I have ever seen such a well-defined sheen on it. The lace was is stunningly beautiful. There were no bad stones in this package at all❤ I hope to see the reworked piece when you are done.
wow 🤩 those are beautiful tumbles! i like the obsidian pieces much!
I liked it all but you know I live the crazy lace tumbles and wow that cab of fire! Nice Northern Rocks!
Very lovely tumbles!! Loved seeing the tumbled fire 🔥 very nice!
NR's Bad to The Rocks-hehehe. Rosie has been tumbling 21+lbs of Rocks herself and I assist occasionally.
Yes, Northern Rocks does like to make trades. We've recently had an exchange as well. I know you'll be able to put a good shine on the cabochon for her. We've all seen your work! Ha ha, no pressure there!
Wow! That would be considered a perfect tumble!!
Favorite was the multiple sheen Obsidian!
YMKO- we have numerous Obsidians; of all you have displayed. quite a bit of FIRE just like the one you showed layers on layers, and PLENTY of the MAHOGANY OBSIDIAN THAT I TRULY LOVE. We Purchased at a Rock Show in WA,St.
Those where some nice gifts and some nice polish on those my favorite was the crazylace very nice
Very cool rocks! Thanks for sharing
Yes Kyle the petrified wood is from you. I am glad that you like them. It has been so long since I sent you that package that I forgot what I sent to you lol.
I got the obsidian from Richardsons Rock Ranch. I bought there two dollar a pound tumbling material.
Those tumbles were incredible! Amazing job, Northern Rocks!
5:05 The parent in me is screaming at you right now. 😨
If it helps...I knew the blade was dull. It needs changed. A butter knife would've been sharper lol
Very cool obsidian
So pretty thanks for sharing ❤
Excellent job! Some of best tumbling I've seen. Would like to know how Northern tumbles. Rotatery or vibratory? I'm guessing she uses a saw on some. Would love to know how she gets that beautiful shine. Fantastic rocks! I love the petrified wood. It's too hard to choose. Bravo Northern Rocks. 👏
I use both a rotary and a vibratory. No I didn't use a saw on these, I just tumble them for several weeks in the first stage, 60/90 grit until most of the imperfections are out. I use The Rock Sheds grits and polishes. Won't use anything else. I also burnish after the final polish for 8 to 10 hours. Watch Michigan's Rocks tumbling videos. That is how I learned how to tumble. I use the same methods as he does.
@northernrocks543 I use Rock Shed grit to. I don't have a vibratory. Nice tumbles!
NORTHERN ROCKS; Do you use Vibratory or Rotary Tumblers or both on the Rock Cycle?
What Tumbling Grit Do YOU USE? How Long do you run each stage for?
Do you also use just the Rocks and or with Media?
Do YOU Burnish and what is YOUR Process when you do?
These are QUESTIONS FROM NEWBIES.
THANK YOU!!!
Holy Mackerel There Northern Rocks, those turned out beautiful. I want to ask if some were worked by use of a Vibrating machine ? Can't wait to see the work.. I mean.. cough, cough, the magic that Kyle will use to clean up that last piece/project. And I hope Kyle that you'll make a video of how you do it.
I use both a rotary, and a vibrating tumbler.
We need to check Norhtern Rocks Channel Out. My Goodness the POLISH!!! GIVING MICHIGAN ROCKS, AGATE ARIEL AND ALL OTHERS A RUN FOR THEIR MONEY/SHINE!!!
IT IS AMAZING THE PURE BEAUTY NORTERN ROCKS BRINGS TO THE CREATIONS!!!
I learned from watching Michigan Rocks channel. Watch his tumbling videos. He has several of them. How he tumbles that is how I tumble my rocks. I use grits and polishes from The Rock Shed. really great stuff and great prices. I use in the first stage 60/90 silicon carbide, second stage 120/220 silicon carbide, third stage 500 aluminum oxide grit, fourth stage aluminum oxide polish. Then a burnish after the final polish stage for about 8 to 10 hours. Won't hurt if you go 24 hours. For obsidian, that is a very hard stone to tumble. It took me a long time to learn how to tumble obsidian. Obsidian also needs a vibrating tumbler. I use the Lot-o vibrating tumbler for the final 3 stages. I was unable to get a good shine just using a regular rotary tumbler.
Hoping to get a UA-cam channel soon. Working on it. Thanks.
Yeah I need to tumble some stuff… it’s so tedious though to film 😂 I think that’s why I’ve been putting it off that and my first attempt didn’t go well
You were using the wrong grits and polish. I watch your channel. Try using the Rock Shed grits and polishes. That is what I use and it works on Haunted Ridge material to. Just got back from Haunted Ridge. Watch Michigan's Rocks channel. He has great tumbling videos. That is how I learned and I tumble my rocks like he does.
