Been thinking of doing a tournament for a few yrs now but haven’t had the confidence in taking that next step This has opened my eyes to giving one a crack Love to hit up Forster
Another excellent vid Byron. I actually played it in the shop (Bass Angler) today for a guy going in his first ever tournament (abt glenbawn). During the conversation, I talked myself into going as well. Haven’t done a non-boater in years. Looking forward to it.
Byron very informative... I didn’t even know this was an option for non-boaters. You’ve opened my eyes 😳 to more fishing opportunities. I would’ve loved to be on the water at Lake Mac this weekend. St George’s Basin wouldn’t be a bad location to give this a go.
awesome insight into being a non boater! been wanting to do this for awhile and this year I might get the chance to do it at the Gold Coast round!!! thanks again!
Cracker video Byron Forster will be my first non boater round and this video has answered a lot of questions I had and has made that itch even stronger to get out there! St. George’s basin would be a great one I would love to do👌
I needed this vid when I signed up for the blue rock round a couple weeks ago. Got out there and spent friday setting up camp in the forest. Got the message at like 3pm that it was cancelled due to the snap lockdown 😔 was super excited and nervous for it too hahaha. Pity, i dont think theres any more Vic rounds this year. So this is just a friendly comment, not a comp entry. 🙂 Great informative vid mate. Keep up the grouse work!
Great video, very informative mate, cheers. I'd like to get back to Georges Basin, I had a good time there for the Hobie round and would be keen to have another crack.
Thanks mate. I've actually entered this weekend's Clarence bass comp as my first ABT non boaters, and then cause I'm nuts,I'm doing Forster next week as a boater 🤞
One of your best yet. I reckon it would be terrifying but amazing experience. I'd either pick somewhere I've always wanted to fish (Mallacoota) or somewhere closer (Forster).
Awesome insight to the non boating scene mate. I have been tossing up whether or not to enter in one to learn more and get better as an angler, its always been a daunting thought to me to jump into some random blokes boat for a day lol.
Great video. I have just entered my first hobie comp at St georges basin and to move up to boating and learn on the go one on one would be an awesome opportunity. Location wise anywhere on the Nsw coast. But forster comes to mind.
Would love to join in 100% never done a boat comp before done plenty of kayak comps tho and if I could you meet you it would absolutely make my year your a boddy fantastic bloke that has so much experience great vid mate and don't forget always wet a line even in your dreams 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙👌👌👌👌🐟🐠🐟🐠🐟🐠🐠🐟🐟🐠🐟🐠🐟🐠🐟🐠
Id love to fish sydney harbour, for me its somehow the pinnacle, big city, lots of space and water, navigating the river with other ferries and commercial boats, as well as targeting bream on a variety of structures, yeah Sydney Harbour has to be the big show for sure.
Thanks Byron... Love your vids.. Straight forward, honest.. Down to earth! I was encouraged into ABT by Steve Morgan years ago when in Qld when things were starting.. Bass.. "Who shares wins"... One of my first boater experiences was teamed up with Timmy.. What a fun day.. Great learning curve.. So helpful in building confidence.. Haven't fished ABT for awhile... Love to have a Crack at Forster
Thanks for running us through the tournament I’m 1 year to young for the tournaments one more year! Would love to go in the East Gibsland round because it’s the only place I really fish and know well.
Hey Byron, just wanted to say thanks for the effort and time you put in to give us all these great videos to watch!! I’m not much of a computer guy but it looks like it would take tens or hundreds of hours to put one of your videos together and with how crazy life is these days no one has time for anything, the fact that you take so much time out of yours for us is crazy. Your a f@c#ing legend mate!!! Haven’t fished a tournament yet but would love a crack at the basin.
Id love to have a go a any of the bream comps never even caught a bream. So whatever is closest to Central vic, St georges basin maybe? Hopefully people will slow up on buying new boat trailers and I can get a few days off by then.
Awesome Video Byron. Having just done my first ABT I’ve def got the bug. It was so good fishing with my Boaters & esp the Winner Day 2. No pressure! Had a blast & both guys were such knowledgeable anglers who were happy to share & offer tips! I caught fish & learnt a lot. Totally recommend this to anyone thinking about having a go. As for which venue Is like to fish - possibly Forster or Tasmania - after seeing the big bream there, why not! Keep the videos coming. Love them all. Very informative & also provides anglers new to both Hobie & ABT tournaments with invaluable insight into what goes on! Thanks heaps. See you at the Nicho! 🐟🐟🐟
one day ill look into the kayak side of tournaments but not yet. would you consider making a Hobie round breakdown as well? or do you feel this video will be too similar to that? this is such a informative video thanks for the info
I have been watching your channel and have throughly enjoyed watching & learning different techniques. This insight to the non-boater scene has been a huge advantage for myself and others struggling to want to have a go because of the nerves. I’d love too have my first shot at tournament fishing at St George’s basin. Keep up the good work👌
Awesome video mate. Was always scared of not knowing what actually happens as a non boater so might have to travel somewhere this year and give it a go or definitely a Vic one next year. Would be insane going to somewhere like Forster and watch someone like Kris Hickson pull em out if the racks since it's a type of fishing I've never done.
Awesome video mate! I’d love to go south coast NSW or down Mallacoota! I wasn’t sure how I felt about the non boater situation my mate Tim told me to enter the Lake Macquarie round this weekend about a month or so ago but I was unsure... This vid has definitely steered me towards giving it a crack soon 💯 👍🏼
I would love to fish the Derwent river round as it is not far from me and I have time to study how to fish it in between comps if I want to start doing that
Would love to have a go at the St George's Basin round. Used to competition fish heavily in the UK and learning the ropes of bream fishing here in Sydney
Awesome vid as always Byron! I’ve just had a shit run in Tournaments in the WA scene, mostly my own lack of skill. All up I could easily say I’ve lost/damaged $2k of gear and I have yet to manage landing a size Bream. I’ve also put my name forward as a Non-Boater 2 years running with no offer so I’ve given up on Tournaments now. To be honest I much prefer fishing with a mate and going for a session when it suits me. Apologies for the negativity mate, I am just annoyed with it all, mostly my own fault to be fair.
Mate, that sounds rough! I can only really talk about my experience and they have been great and positive. Hope to see you back into it at some point dude
Great information
Thanks mate
