Man this is a classic
2k11 is truly the greatest game of the series. I loved the grind of the game. I wasnt that good playing the game at first. I spent a lot of time in the (at the time), D-League and it was worth it. It was nice to see how I could just focus on developing my player and it was an exhilarating experience finally getting called up. This game got me through some tough times in the last years of my military career. The 2k series needs to go back to this type of MyCareer.

I wasn't interested in the my player mode at first but after viewing how much Smooth was having fun, so I decided to give it a try. It's like a rpg with playing the games over and over in order to improve your creation. Thanks man.

Very nice video man. Both of you really knew what you were talkin about when it came to the NBA. I like that, cuz around here, everybody's about college bball, and everyone ALWAYS hatin hard on the NBA basically for no reason.

the patch was cool because it automatically sets up alley ops.like when i set a pick and run my player automatically goes for a alley.but a downside is the fact that my player wont hit a majority of his shots and all my shooting and consistancy is in the 80s.and when i try to cherry pick the cpu on my team throws the ball outta bounds or at my kness.it has its pros and cons
Man I was in the finals in my player mode with the Mavs against the Heat. My team just gave up and we got swept. My guy was the only one doing anything and Chris Bosh was just looking like a superstar cause no one would guard him! You are right about the speed too.

I created a SG and got drafted second round by the Heat. I became the starter pretty quick, because they put Wade in at PG. We won all but two games before I requested a trade to OKC. Now, I beast it up, and play a bigger roll at OKC. Durant still gets his 20+ a game, but I'm sitting around 12 points a game.

Smoove, the double pick is like a pick and roll AND a pick and pop, bargnani will mostly pop, and davis will roll.
to do pick and roll you have to move the computer yourself. Its the icon direct pass button and the directional analog..
chris smoove is a beast point guard and knows how to keep his cool even if his team is down by 20

hey smoove the reason speed does not seem to matter is because along with your speed you need you quickness up as wel, because speed is as fast as you can go but, quickness is how fast you get to your speed
I'm glad I didn't get the patch. I see what you're saying about the speed problem. I agree with you on it on the offensive side of the ball. I can't seem to take the big guys when I iso against them, but speed does help me with steals. I get like 4 steals/game and my steal rating is only 55. I kept the number down to make it fair because I'm just way too good at steals lol.
The problem lies in the game style not the difficulty setting. Try giving the default game style a shot and see how it feels for you.

i agree with th comment of the computer defense catching up too fast. The offense has a tendency to fast break too often once you miss a shot. As for picks I can't do them as I like since i'm a 2 guard and i'll get "hold ball too long" The other point I agree with is when you offensive opponent blows by you as if you weren't there. If you have done the same you'll get bumped and if you have shitty handles expect to lose ball.

There is a way to delete the patch
without messing up your in game
data.
Xbox 360 users go to your memory, Press Y
and then delete your cache. It will take no more then
3 seconds. Although this is great, there is a problem once
you delete the patch, you cannot go online or Xbox live while
playing 2k11.

to call the plays, you have to earn the coaches trust, i played 25 games and got all positive on my player and his interviews, THATS HOW YOU GET TO CALL THE PLAYS
i'm playing in the raptors but as a shooting guard and were sitting 4th in the East. we've won 14 in a row. And theres 19 games left.
I average 27 pts, 8 rbs, 5 asts and i play on HOF
@The13Rome look at the quarters.. 4:39 is in the 4th, 4:46 is in the 3rd
lack of fast breaks and teammates not hitting OPEN shots make my player very frustrating at the moment
@24COKingz the high arc shot is one of the realistic parts of the game... smoove was behind the backboard so the cpu made him shoot over the backboard instead of through it :P
I play on pro level and i think CPU plays quite fair. I am playing point guard (custom made face featuring anime character). Rating was about 46-50 when starting nba career. The only thing i find unfair (both ways) is how easy the passes into the paint are. That is how i get most of my assists. I get like over 10 for 6 min quarters since I got starter position. Apart from those passes, my other favorite is the pump fake, cut in, then jump shot. My player right now has 70 medium
i noticed the same thing about patch. On HOF the cpu doesn't miss ever.

I'm kind of glad the teammates don't always cut to the rim after a pick and roll play, because in past games you could cheese with the pick and roll all day and it was too easy.
The thing why I like the Suns in this game is because of their "Master Pick and Roll" strategy. The Suns' pick and roll is almost invincible in the offensive side. Their defensive side on the other hand....well...you just have to play good defense.
Yeah I hate it when my offensive objective is to draw 5 or more fouls, my layup is maxed out but I can't draw fouls. Even with the up fake.

@knobface123 if you saw it, you would probably think it was a problem. this is the second game this season if lost on a buzzer beater, and one was some guy ive never heard of before. i just think its a problem because i defended the shot so well it couldve been a block, he faded away (those dont usually go in when contested), and he still made it.
if u press left bumper u they wont calls plays in that possestion press when ur in a game
nice video smooth. do you get frustrated when your players blow your assists? haha but you still manage a good amount of assists. i cant get any assists on the knicks because amare is injured, and i cant really figure out how to make my players cut to the basket on the pick and rolls
anyone else notice that smoove was playing great but he lost by like 30

Im a Center on the Portland Trailblazers and after i set a screen or when im open in the paint or if my guy is behind me and i call for the ball even though the play is for someone else they pass me the ball and ive tried making them get a TO like that and they still pass i thinks its like this after the 2k insider tells you that the "Coaching Staff" believes in you and your floor general
@Yeazy3 why would u want to delete the patch? to delete go to system settings-memory-games-nba 2k11-then press Y to delete system cache aka patches

@MrDollhouseplay a good solution, if you didn't already know is to play on simulation. that way people who can actually shoot a shot will hit it if they have a good shot. just letting you know. thats what i play on

I agree. I just find it impossible to beat the CPU and I switched to pro because I was pissed. AND I STILL LOST. I thought I just sucked, which I kind of do, but even so I should still win a game on the lowest difficulty..
Smoove! When I first got the game, first thing I noticed that my teammates would just stand there unlike 2k10. Second thing i noticed was I can't hopstep cheese lol
I know Coop is, but, you hyped bout the Hornets Heat game? Like, 25-25 at the end of the first.
they need to get rid of 99's because they hop step cheese, and they go to the deep wings and drain threes. 2k needs to make it so when you play a my player game: where you shoot your shot and make it should build hot spots
@tyklug2013 your rebounding doesn't really matter, just vertical
idk which 1 said it but the paint game is wayyyyy off. as soon as you hit some1 with a mean crossover and get in the lane the whole team swipes the ball away asap
I'm a shooting guard, and before the patch I was loving my player mode. But now, as the auto playing is there with no off-buttonm, I stopped playing it. If im WIDE open and i call for the ball, the pointguard will ignore me and just stand there. I used to average 44 points 6 rebounds and 3 assists. But the last 5 games, i've been averaging 28 points 5 rebounds and 1 assist.

i agree, the ratings don't mean shit in 2k11, slow players are way to fast.
Ya I dont understand why my center will run to the 3pt line and he has a wide open cut to the basket along the baseline and even when I dish the ball to him he wont run it.
i once was going for the most points in one game i got 99 because they moved me to shooting guard and jordan farmar wouldnt pass me the ball i had 4 minutes with no shot in the 4th quarter. i have 99 speed and get beat down court also.
thumbs up for 2k to fix this.

Well, when I played pro, I was scoring 60, almost 70 a game with a 64 average athletic PG.
Now I play Hall of fame with simulation, just like you, but just 8 minutes, and I score 35~50 on a regular basis with some steals, assists and blocks, 70 overall.
PS: I play PC and I dont have the patch, pre patch it was easy as that? or the lakers (that cant do a thing actually, I guess the team doesn't matter) are too good?
i play on pro and my guy is 87 overall. so raw.

Hey Smoove and DCoop Im a fan of both of u, but I thought i'd jus say that I'm a point guard in My Player mode and if u call for a screen, u dnt necessarily have to go thru with the pick n roll and the play will have been broken already like u discussed
@mwee2004 yeah that happened to me too. i miss wide open three pointers with my player with a 95 rating.
but i notice that the most of your three pointers go in, if you take them when you are in transition. the same thing for your teammates.
also when i dont like a play i just call for screen, and start from there. I only hate plays where the star player "solos" and you have to give him the ball and he dribbles all over court and misses
At first there was no auto playcalling in my player mode, but I changed it somewhere to auto. How can I get it back to manual? I've been looking all over for this setting but haven't found it yet.

Is it just me, or are there no charging fouls against the ball carrier rushing the basket? I have yet to see one.

@Ryaann123 Are you one of those people who stick to one gun for every map? I find that to stick to one gun is very difficult and it's a lot easier to switch to a gun that is better for the map you're on. For example, M16 on Array, Ak74u on Firing range, or a silenced weapon on nuketown. Also, make sure you're killstreaks are down to things you can get consistently so that you can get an extra 5 kills a game instea of 15 kills rarely.
What Smoove says at 6:40 is probably the main thing I hate about 2k11. The whole "Bump" thing. I can never cut through the paint without getting bumped/held.

I feel ya smoove cause on 2k10 i was with the spurs and won a championship on HOF rookie year and now on 2k11 im on the spurs again and we were 10-4 before the patch and when the patch came out we were 11-71 losing by 30 points and i mean damn i have ginoble dunkan hill blair parker and they would make shit the patch just made the computer unstopable from anything and i feel at times i dont want to play ever again

What's strange is... I lost soo many games with the suns and then we had to play the Lakers at Staples Center. My teammates normally don't make that many shots and in that game they suddenly played awsome and we won. The worst team in the league in my game won in LA and then lost many games again. WTF?

Is anyone else having problems with team up for crew games. me and my friend have tried to play it and out of like 30 games we finished one whole game it always ends up disconnecting?
