Thank you for documenting Joshua’s journey! My daughter is now two years into her recovery with TBI. It is always so reassuring to find others who are living through this. Please know that you and your beautiful son are a blessing and an inspiration to us. Much love and strength to you both! ❤️

I can’t thank you enough for this video.. my son was in a motorcycle accident and has the most severe brain injury as well. They asked me just a few days after to remove him from life support which I declined. 3 days after they asked me my son was breathing over the machine and 2 days after that he was off life support breathing on his own. It has been 6 weeks after his accident and he now opens one eye and follows me. Today I’m filled with love peace and hope for my son and know that god is working on my boy. You just gave me a little bit more hope with your story of your precious boy. I can’t thank you enough for touching this mom’s broken heart. ❤❤

My wife of 32 just had a heart attack 3 weeks ago. She has a global anoxic brain injury and I’ve been researching all i can while sitting with her. She’s been going threw exactly what Joshua has. We have a 10 year old son and when I saw your video I just broke down. I couldn’t imagine this being my son. What I can say is your absolutely right about so much, they said my wife was brain dead and just yesterday she said “I love you”. Recovery truly is live long and one should never give up even when hope is slim. I hope Joshua has a positive life long recovery that never ends until he’s as whole as he can be. Much love guys and stay strong

I hope you can reply to this comment. My partner of 15 years is in a coma in icu. His son is his health proxy and they are pushing him to shut him down. I am being alienated because they call me crazy for having hope. I know he is in there!!!!!!! They say he is brain dead but I can feel him. Now they won't let me visit, because I upset them too much by begging them to hold onto hope. They won't even do any research or let me bring in a second and third opinion which his insurance would cover. How long did your wife takes you wake up if you don't mind my asking

@@jolenecarney7514 I know a woman who’s fiancée had zero responses after his brain injury for three weeks. Day in, day out she sat with him. He began squeezing her fingers, then opening his eyes (blinking for confirmation), he struggles, & they aren’t exactly sure the extent of his injuries yet. Things are one moment at a time, because weeks ago she was told he would die, and had 3% chance of ever waking up and even if he did- they said he’d never communicate. I don’t have all the answers, but neither do the physicians. They know a whole lot, and they are trained…I just happen to think that there are some things in this world that can only be confirmed by faith. 🙏🏻💜 I hope this finds you well, sending positive vibes to your and your loved ones.

My mom suffered from hypoxia and brain injury, she has been in the ICU for 47d now, she barely responds to commands and barely recognise her surroundings and people around her, she cannot speak and barely controlling body movements. the doctors say her condition will last long (months-years) and unknown when will she recover or even be able to leave the ICU. She barely gives emotional face expressions like happiness sadness and pain, when we are around (her family) she seems to be smiling and happily moving her head, we will never leave her side or give up on her. I could say this event has been the worst and toughest experience in my life, she always been a very lovely and admirable person for everyone, all of a sudden she’s gone. Though We’re having faith and patience and praying for her to hopefully recover soon ♥️

You are absolutely right . As long as your loved one is still alive , ask plenty of questions , advocate for them and don't let anyone try to push you into making decisions you are not comfortable with . Do your research , thoroughly . Once someone has been in an ICU , intubated and ventilated with a brain injury , it will take more than a year to start recovery . You're doing your due diligence and that is what it takes to get to recovery. God bless 🙏

Called ‘Situational Volition with Intentional Listen’ to be able to firstly, really hear what the truth is, then diagnosis as they understand it to look like, how they arrived at this, the time allocated to allow patient to progress through the stages prior to recovery without threat of organ transplant and/or machine care withdrawn. Selah. Your task is to write down, document and video prior to researching around the ward, staff, library Paper based research etc., FIRST and foremost and lastly, enter the internet world seeking INFINITY WISDOM RAPHA (INFINITE GREAT INFINITE I INFINITE AM INFINITE PHYSICIAN ALWAY) GOD ALMIGHTY (Her) who is CREATOR over ALL including the human body, illness, injury, treatment and recovery. This is beautiful to see. My mother had an anoxic brain injury in 2013 and passed away in 2017 from kidney failure, 2013 was beginning to the most difficult period in my life. It brings me joy to see this little boys recovery. I cannot imagine the pain of living with this through one of my children 😢. I pray Brandon continues to recover. ❤ The doctors told us that there was no hope and she didn’t even know that we were there. However, I know that there were times where she was there! I was talking to her one evening about how great of a mother she began to cry (tears). I do believe that there are exceptions, my mother was a diabetic and had other health issues. I believe that these issues along with her age (49) hindered her recovery.

Mainstream medicine has years of experience with these injuries and is not trying to mislead. Just the facts as there is not always hope for some. I’m happy for you that things have worked for you but this is not the norm. It gets hard to believe and have hope when you have cared for dozens of kids over the years that did not recover. BUT this is not an excuse not to try. Kids are incredible resilient and are still growing and recover much better than adult brain injuries. I’m so happy for you and your little guy.

She was only in the NICU for two days before Doctors tried to push me into making a decision to take a brain dead test and 5 days later the same things. They said she would never recover and there was no hope. They gave her morphine on the third day of being in the hospital. I had to fight for her. Within 7 days she started to move and by the 12th day he open her eyes. She is now using a trach and g stube. Now I am trying to raise funds for medical expenses.

AMY has this but also TBI
AMY is amazingly brain active. She is paralyzed, can't speak. We communicate by letter board & her eye movements.
I just seen this video for 1st time. The pictures of your son in ICU brought back the memories of Amy's months there.
Amy's insurance is capped out, something we didn't know could happen! SS said her payments won't come through for a year.
We were told the same thing you were - that Physical Therapy must be started immediately for it to have any benefit. My husband has withdrawn his entire 401k & put off retirement for Amy's therapy. Nobody has EVER mentioned oxygen therapy. Am going to watch again & subscribe.
I hope you see this & answer back! We so need to know how you were able to get your son moving & speaking again! ❤

I’m glad that your story is going the way you want it. But Doctors tell people what happens in the majority of cases they see. They aren’t “wrong”, but crystal clear about possibilities they’ve actually witnessed.
Also, would the person themselves want to live and be ok with not speaking or being in a wheelchair for years and years? I personally am a DNR because I wouldn’t want others to be in charge of everything for me.
Again, I get he’s a young kid. So I realize as his parents you chose what you felt was best. There’s no right or wrong answer and as his mom, you know what’s best. ❤

I miss my wife. She had a cardiac arrest. He didn't have oxygen reach the brain. She's in a coma.
I'm a mess without her. I feel so alone. I feel so lost. My life is changing for the worst. I feel like I have no hope. It makes me feel like shit because of that.
She's been in that state for 13 days. Idk how ill go on..

    • @cerorchid
      @cerorchid Рік тому +4

You cannot regenerate brain cells once they have died, HBOT prob won't do much this long after. My question is, why not let him pass once you knew the severity of his injury? Sometimes, being kept alive artificially; having invasive, painful procedures; reoccurring bedsores and infections; and no quality of life is more cruel and selfish than allowing someone to pass peacefully. I've seen so many families keep their loved ones alive because they were too selfish to let them go (not saying this was you). I'm very sorry for your son and your family. 😢

People CAN see gains after years IF their improvement in the first 30 days is good. They can tell if that if they get a baseline MRI/EEG, CT EEG TO compare improvement too. We move people to MRI’s all the time with all their equipment and IV lines. We leave the pump outside the MRI room and run the lines thru special hole in the wall and leave someone near them for life saving measures to be given. It’s hard to absorb and understand all that information when you’re upset. And it’s offensive you call dr’s death dealers. Doctors are healers and try to heal people way too long when they should be let go (not speaking of your son)

There is no recovery from severe anoxic brain injuries, In my opinion and medical experience from my profession, it’s best to let loved ones pass peacefully and with dignity. A person maybe have reflexes and twitch once stabilized, but that is not to be mistaken for hope of a recovery. Quality of life is zero and it’s no way to live. It’s best to grieve once and make the decision to let them go, rather than to grieve a second time when their heart finally stops ❤️

My middle aged son had no heartbeat for 20 minutes on 5/18 from Fentanyl, he was revived but I was told he has a profound anoxic brain injury and will remain in a vegetative state. I am setting him free, he would hate to be kept alive by machines with no life. In my heart it feels like the best thing for him in addition to the doctor's opinion.

All because the parents won’t realize thy doing things too the child isn’t the same as doing things for the child.
