Before the draft: Euroleague isn't nowhere near the NBA, draft ayton 1st overall.
After the draft: Luka been playing professionals since he was 15 so he's really not a rookie, not taking anything away from him though.

Taking DeAndre Ayton first overall wasn't bad though, it's kind of like a a watered down version of the Rockets taking Hakeem over Jordan, obviously Jordan is better, but Hakeem was great too. So obviously Luka is better, but Ayton is great also.

During the season : Luka ain't really a true rookie...he already played with grown men
I think what Steph said was really insightful "he plays at his own pace". That's one part of Luka's game that doesn't get enough credit, his pace is different than anyone else, sometimes really slow, sometimes unexpectedly fast.

His movement here in the Philippines we called it "contra tiempo."
KD mentioned that playing in europe was advantage to other rookies, it's all true, but it sounds like Luka is the first player that played in Europe before entering nba! Is it so hard to admit that he is just SPECIAL!!!!

Of course!!! And he’s right. To summarize, he said that playing in Europe allowed him, the second best league as he said, to sharpen his game and focus only on this part while the other rookies had to go through studies. But first, he acknowledged the level of competitiveness he faced.
You’re taking it the wrong way, kd isnt hating on him or saying he had a handicap he’s saying he’s so good cus when he was young all he had to focus on is basketball he didn’t have to worry about school or anything but basketball And not many players have that opportunity to just focus on just basketball and their goals before getting drafted

C'mon guys. Of course, he has been playing against grown man in Europe but you need to be very good to be able to do that as a teenager. More over, he was Euroleague MVP! Luka is unique and he is going to be one of the greatest ever.
The argument was that Europeans playing pro for years, who only have to focus on basketball, not having to go to class, had an advantage compared to collage players. Don't think it was meant to take away anything from him or not to acknowledging his skills.

Luke is not a typical European player, because a typical European player only sees a chance to shoot for three points! Yes Luka is also excellent for three points but Luka plays and defends, without fear, goes under the basket and dribbling, fantastic assists etc.. plays in every position! Luka is special! After Sharunas Marciulonis first time we see a real superstar from Europe!

The two things about European players that frustrate some NBA players is that
1. They play against professionals at a younger age 13-15 yrs old. Most Euro players are taught the fundamentals the right way. Meaning by the time their 19-20 they have far more experience and BBall IQ then the average American player at that age.
2. If your a hooper you know that it's usually not the most athletic guy that gives you problems. It's the guy that may not be that athletic but his ability to think the game and get to his spots consistently.
They don't olay with pros since 13.
Doncic played pro at 16.

Organized Basketball is on clibs since very begening.
Real Madrid has team since "Alevín" 10-12 years old to "Junior" 17-18 years old.
Only after that are pro teams, but real madrid B is in 4 division and is just a intermedie step before Real Madrid senior team, because can put guys with out experience there.
It is organized bbb with good facilities and study and training program and residence (in clubs with big bugdet) , but not pro until you are at least in 2nd division.
Doncic was the youngest ever for R Madrid at 16.
