    I’ve strayed Paul! Not intentionally but with my lack of attention span and the algorithm of UA-cam shorts I’ve watched every hip bump, knee twist, foot shimmy belly button waggle tip you could think of. My game went to hell in a hand-basket. No lag, leading with my arms, slicing and hitting so fat that I’m sure I hit the core of the earth. I went back to your videos and only your videos. My swing is simpler and easy and the ball goes straight and far. I know there are tons of good coaches and good instructional videos. But yours is the only one that fits me. Thank you for everything.

      Yeah, glad you see that all this info can wreck your swing and hopefully you never do that again. Pick a teacher and stick with that person. Glad it's me and glad you got it back.

    Last year I bought your book after covid started and changed my arm swing to a body swing. I am 68 and I shot part last week using my new swing. Most swings practiced were above at knee height without a ball. I also had flaws in my grip that the book really helped. I just wanted you to know all the work paid off. It took months but now I don't try to hit the ball it just happens to get in the way. Accuracy is dramatically improved and distance is on its way up with all clubs. Thanks, Mike

      Wow. That's great. Yes, it takes work. Daily work but people can easily do this at home if they just put in a little effort. If they do they get the results and you are proof. So glad you did the work and are seeing the payoff. Great feeling.

    Thanks Paul.. This is another great tip. I have been working on my game watching only your videos and doing the drills either at home /range or in the course. It has worked wonders for my game a . I think the best part is that my game is now more consistent and predictable. My goal in 2021 is to visit and take a few lessons in person towards the end of the year covid permitting.

    Thanks for your golf swing advice Paul. I am rebuilding my swing with your techniques. I've played a long time now low eighties if im playing well. Never been able to break into the seventies. I have the driver working now with no pain after my swing and most of my icons off a tee are pure. I struggle on my second shot now more than ever. Im getting them in the air just off target. Bring that loose has me spitting the ball left and right just enough to put me back in the high eighties and low nineties. This technique I think is the missing part. My body does feel so much better at the end of my round. You are correct about that. I have a friend who im trying to buy into it. I'll keep you updated. Thanks and nice swing Kid.

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  3 роки тому +1

      You're welcome, Need to figure out the irons. Body = direction = wrists = spin. It is that simple. Release the club and eliminate all slice spin. Once you can do that focus on firing the body in the downswing. Too little and you will pull it. Too much and you will push it. Watch your ball and it will tell you exactly what to do. This is so simple.
      So grip and set up first.
      Coil, load and hinge going back.
      Uncoil and let the club go in the downswing.
      Hit the same follow through with all clubs in perfect balance.
      This is all in my Body Swing program.

    Hi Paul; Watching your swing over a period of time in your videos, you seem to have a small forward move before you take the club back. Is that intentional or only when you're doing videos, or do you even realize you're doing it? It made me try a different approach to my backswing by using that small move forward, like a forward press with your legs & especially loose arms & wrists before I start which makes it impossible for me to yank the club back quickly into the positions you're trying to prevent. Especially inside. It also provides a bit of momentum to start the swing rather than just from a static address, standing over the ball & overthinking. I don't know if you've recommended this in any past videos but this works really well for me to prevent a fast takeaway & bad positions. Be well!

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  3 роки тому

      I don't think about it in any way. I am just trying to stay in motion. I do like the back leg kick to start the swing. I have experimented on this too. My problem has been standing up before I take it back. So I am definitely trying to get rid of it. Try to find something that works for you.

    I struggled with the backswing until you taught me about the Y formation. If I feel that I maintain the Y formation through the takeaway to the top, it's much easier to set the backswing and stay on plane through the shot.

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  2 роки тому

      Very good. Simple thought too so you aren't guessing. Set the backswing then think power in the downswing.

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  2 роки тому

      Yes, your body starts the coil. Arms are attached so they move because you move your body.

  • @albertking8401
    @albertking8401 Рік тому

    great video paul. in your backswing, do you try to keep the trailing elbow close to your body at the top of the swing? i noticed that i lift my arms at the top causing me to get outaide of the target line when i try to turn my hips for the forward swing. is my analysis correct or am i doing something else wrong?

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  Рік тому

      No. I feel that is too flat. I like the lead arm slightly above the shoulder plane at the top. The reason you are coming over the top is you are hitting with your arms which is leaning you left. Lean left and you will swing left. I would keep reaching up. I like people to feel they are dropping a grapefruit from the right armpit at the top.
      Watch these to stop coming over the top:

    Thnk you Paul, but my problem is when coil, how to manage tilt and coil in the same time, how to deal with the top of the bacswing and what do I do with the weight on my feet to facilitate the perfect backswing?

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  2 роки тому +1

      I think you are making it too complicated and working on too many things. Get something and master it. Then move on to the next. Think of it all and you will get nothing.
      Think in simple terms first. You are coiling and hinging. That is the concept. You would stand up going back due to trying to either kill it or you are super tight and lifting up takes the stress out of the coil. If you lift up you need to come back down which is going to be super inconsistent.
      So in simple terms see you body as a giant vertical spring. You coil the top. Once tight, you uncoil the bottom. Coil/uncoil
      ua-cam.com/video/W8nv99yLMH8/v-deo.html
      As you coil the weight will load to the back instep/heel. Again, once you coil you then switch to uncoil. The uncoil starts the downswing. This is the most simple downswing trigger:
      ua-cam.com/video/RdphthCQ9VM/v-deo.html
      Just do that for a while until you get the body moving.
      Conneceted to this spring is your arm unit. It hinges and rehinges. To hinge and rehinge you need loose wrists. So forget the right arm in the backswing. Only think about the left. You hinge until you feel the bone in your writs joint cannot hinge anymore. If you do you are coiling going back then setting this hinge to its maximum. So your thought now is coil ... hinge.
      This is a simple way to get it:
      ua-cam.com/video/h5DwT6whCuo/v-deo.html
      You are not thinking about power going back. You are thinking about coiling and hinging setting yourself up in position to get power coming down and through.
      From here you turn your belt buckle to start the downswing and let your arms go (zero hitting or helping the shot).
      Get all the way through allowing the club to rehingeb in the through swing:
      ua-cam.com/video/5_O0H2QNFo0/v-deo.html
      So again, see it in simple terms. Coil uncoil ... hinge rehinge. Stop trying to power it with the arms. This will never work. If you are not hitting you will not be lifting up. You should be maintain the tilt you are after. Give this a try. I would hit 7 iron teed up. Also, do daily practice swings. This is the fastest way to get it.

    What movement you have to make to go up in the backswing? Hands or chest and shoulders?

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  2 роки тому

      You need to take your arms and lift them up. Set the wrists. I haven't done this tip yet. It's on my list. I call it lead arm rides up. Follow this tip and make sure your back arm is untucked as opposed to being jammed against your side.

    Hi Paul, during the back swing, when do you start to hinge the club for your famous effortless pain-free swing?

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  2 роки тому

      You are coiling back to halfway. From there to the top is where the club hinges. If your wrists are already loose and are hinging fully then you don't have to keep trying to hinge them. Because they are loose they will hinge on their own. If your wrists are too tight then you would have to work on the hinge until they are loose. Once loose then let them hinge on their own. You should watch these:

    • @paulwilsongolf
      @paulwilsongolf  2 роки тому +1

      I am allowing the club to hinge due to loose wrists. I am not purposely trying to hinge them. If you need to work on it then you would keep hinging it until it does it on its own. If you are not in position you are doing this with your hands (typically the stronger right hand).
