- Welcome back for another Game of Thrones Season 8 End Game Theory video. Today I want to discuss one of the craziest theories ever written. Well, according to this person... I'm sure by now most of you have heard about the "Littlefinger is Alive" theory. I'm also sure most of you have heard about the "Rhaegar is Jaqen H'ghar" theory as well. This one is a combination of both of those theories, with a little added twist to the end. This also ties into the Crypts of Winterfell Teaser. Based on this theory, not only is Littlefinger a member of the Faceless Men, but he has been playing the Game of Faces from the very beginning of Game of Thrones. Give me your thoughts on this one. I'm not so sure about it, but I thought I would read it to you anyway. Thanks for watching the video!

Fun theory, but the biggest knock against it is a little thing called Seasons 5 and 6. Arya is at The House of Black & White with Jaqen for all of Seasons 5 and 6 - while Baelish is with Sansa, then at Winterfell, then at King's Landing, then at the Eyrie, then the Battle of the Bastards. They would have needed a whole bunch of scenes with Jaqen saying "A man will be right back!".
Or, A man is no one and thus can be anyone. Just because Jaqen was in Braavos (his face) doesn't mean it was the same person.
@@joshuasaunders7369 I agree. I always felt that Jaqen in Braavos didn't really seem right, as tho he was more like a robot clone than the suave dude that rescued the kids in the first place.

Remember when Tywin and Littlefinger met at Harrenhall. Littlefinger saw Arya and probably knew who she was because he never forgets a face. He knew who she was but he didn't told Tywin about it. Also Jagen Hghar was in Harrenhall too. This theory is most likely false but still has some points.
Exactly, he was actually surprised but probably thought it couldn't possibly be Arya. Also, I don't think Arya ever really met Littlefinger. They were both in King's Landing but never really got in contact.

This is why I don’t like making theories regarding faceless men. If you think hard enough you can make a theory that everyone is a faceless man and the entire show/book series is just a bunch of faceless men running around messing with each other.
This is an entertaining theory, albeit highly unlikely, it’s just too convoluted to follow and there’s too many faceless man tricks in my opinion. Using the faceless men’s game of faces as a plot twist technique seems like bad story telling if used too much.
Krameleon I completely agree with you. It sounds like a cop out. If this theory is true, I hope it is told in a clever way when it is revealed in the show. But yeah, this is the equivalent of “it was all just a Dream”
Also, this could be a good way to publicly reveal Jon Snows parents and his claim to the throne
Yeah, like that other popular theory that Jaqen H'Ghar is actually Ned Stark. They were prisoners from the Red Keep dungeons, would've been there the same time as Ned Stark, that's why Jaqen focuses on Arya, etc. You can do that with literally ANY character and you make it sound plausible. Seriously, try a random character and imagine him/her as a faceless man, and it will make sense.
The same with warging. There's a Ned Stark theory on that one, too. Remember those birds that flew away when Ned was beheaded? Ned warged into a crow just as the axe was coming down. Like that wildling warg who warged into an eagle just as Jon Snow was killing him and attacked his face. With warging pressed into the service of theorizing, literally ANY character can be secretly alive if he was also secretly a warg. Without compelling supporting evidence, these theories are a rabbit hole and a waste of time.
You don't need to think too hard about this.

Rewatching the first season, there is a lot of emphasis on him. Particularly, the scene with him and Varys looking at the throne-it’s a battle of the wits and it seems to indicate that these two men, despite the respect they have for each-other, are destined to face off against each other on a level that transcends all the other characters. Everyone else is playing 2D chess, while they play 3D chess.
And then Littlefinger fell for the 3-move mate trick.
How’s that theory look now?

The show doesnt have nearly enough content for any of this to work, including Littlefinger being still alive. If they wove this into the show it would require 90% flashbacks and would be a total mess

The REAL Gendry is still rowing. The current one is actually Arya from the future, posing as him to get herself to fall in love with him once he finally returns from his voyage in order to continue the Stark Line since everyone else is going to die.

Why would Rhaegar betray Ned who raised his son
Because killing Ned set everything in motion for whatever weird plan he is supposed to have. Maybe it is him chasing Arya and she is so freaked out because she thought she killed him but sees his face and knows he is a faceless man and thinks he is there to kill her? Maybe they end up by the statues of her parents and that is where he reveals who he is? Maybe he sits on the throne? lmao
He’s just a pawn in his game, rhaegar just wants to fulfill prophecies. The people don’t matter
So this theory works if you forget the Rhaegar part. Littlefinger is actually himself until he tells the faceless men that Arya is at Winterfell. That's when the female that he pays outside takes his place, thinking ahe will be able to kill Arya, but she gets killed instead, all while disguised as Littlefinger. If you watch the scenes, he doesn't act like his usual self when faced with death, which is because it isn't him.

B.S. because when Little Finger was treating with Tywin Lannister in Harenhall in season 2, Arya is his serving girl. Littlefinger becomes suspicious at the girl, thinking it could have been Arya. Jaqen knew that Arya was Tywin's serving girl so he wouldn't have been suprised at all. Puts a dagger in this whole theory!

I remember watching this episode and thinking “there is no way he didn’t recognize her.” It seemed like such a waste of a scene to for it to amount to nothing. But this theory confirms it. Littlefinger was at Harrenhal, at the same time Arya was serving Tywin, and Jagen was there and aware of her dealings, also Baelish looked genuinely suspicious when Arya was cruising around him with only Tywins convo engagement pulling his attention away, so i'm not sure how that ties in with the theory.
Nope. Cat didn't see Petyr again after the duel with Brandon, but other characters did. Lyssa nursed him back to health. Lyssa was crazy in love with Petyr at the time; if he had died, Lyssa would have wailed the news to the world. The dagger is easily explained a dozen ways. Rhaegar was a slave to prophesy, and he believed his child would be the Prince That Was Promised. He wouldn't have just vanished and left it to luck that Jon survived and was properly educated to be ready for the job. In the books, Jaqen is at the Citadel wearing Pate's face. And on and on... It's a great theory, very creative, but it's a show only theory; whatever happens in the end HAS to take the books into account.
I do believe that Syrio and Jaqen are the same person, and it's remotely possible that person is Rhaegar. I can't see why Rhaegar would want Ned dead, though. Ned raised his child as his own, even though it meant admitting to having cheated on Cat.

What if Baelish was a friend of Lyanna Stark, he helped her and her love Rhaegar escape. Rhaegar gives LF the dagger as a gift. But then Baelish does something unexpected: he starts spreading the rumour all over Westeros that Rhaegar kidnaped and raped Lyanna cause he knows the Starks will get riled up and will start causing trouble. And he wants revenge on the Starks. And when he achieve his goal and Brandon gets burned by the Mad King, Baelish is like wow this thing can actually work! He gets power mad and then he starts making manipulation his life work.

This theory actually blew my mind. I think it is possible somehow and I think character like Littlefinger can't just be "erased" from the story that easily
They killed the "main guy" in the first season, so no one is safe. Littlefinger is also very different from the books. According to George Martin, he's the character the writers changed the most. He had a good run, but Sansa and especially Bran were too much for him to handle. I don't believe we'll see any faceless man again (except for Arya) in the next season. They will focus entirely on the Night King, Bran, Jon and Daenerys.

On the show in season 1 there is a scene with Viserys and Doreah in the bath tub. She tells Viserys that once saw a man with a dagger of real dragon glass, a man who could change his face like clothing, and a pirate covered in gold who flew colorful sails. This short dialogue suddenly makes more sense if the theory is true.
I admit this callback is intriguing. I wonder if that was meant to be an important tidbit all the way back then

Great theory but it does have a few problems as far as I can tell.
1. While it is certainly possible that Petyr died after his fight with Brandon and was replaced by a faceless man, it is mentioned several times that he languished in bed for a long period. So it is not like he completely disappears.
2. In the books we know that Jaqen is in Oldtown behind the face of a novice maester. This happens simultaneously with Littlefinger seizing control of the vale and manipulating Sansa into playing his daughter. Seems impossible for him to be in two places at once.
3. Littlefinger giving the girl a coin in S7 is meant to show the audience that he has already established his group of ‘little birds’ in Winterfell and that he knows everything that is going on; this is the same scheme he and Varus used in King’s Landing.
Your number 3 is exactly what I was thinking, too. The scene was designed to enrage us, make us hate him even more now that his underhanded ways were going to get Arya killed! A final misdirection by the screen-writer so that you do not have time to entertain the possibility of justice being served well that day.

He didn’t get killed by 2 teenage girls, he got exposed and executed by a Queen in the making, a clever assassin, and the Three-eyed Raven. Little finger might of started the choas but he is nothing and would of never amounted to nothing more than a slimey scheming pimp.

Jaqan H'ghar/ Rhaegar Targaren 1st appearance is in season 1 at the tournaments, he is standing in the back round watching Ayra.
the only reason i dont think this will be the case, is we have one season left. they have to tell us about the night king, jons heritage, the prince that was promised, bran, sansa, Arya, jamie, cersei, euron etc etc etc, theres too many loose ends left for them to be introducing more,
Littlefinger wont die in the books like he did in the show. i believe characters like him, tyrion and varys will survive to the end

It fits perfectly with Peter Baelish, he must be Azor Ahai.
And how that mean he's Rhaegar ? Thank you...haven't read the books
Azor Ahai, aka the last hero, is expected to be a Thargaerian, but I don't know the exact part of the prophecy that says that
Wow! That fits, and is way better than ... but then Lightbringer is either: a) The entire surviving Stark family, or b) the Valyrian steel dagger. "No one" was supposed to be here (season 1, assassin to Lady Catelyn Stark).
I'll be really disappointed if Littlefibger is Azor Ahai.

When Baelish meets with Tywin at Harrenhall, he thinks he notices Arya when she is serving him but he doesnt say anything..... it is a look of recognising her and not the look of someone who has knowledge she is already at Harrenhall.

Arya isn't a faceless man, she needs to be no-one to get that title, and we know she isn't no-one and wearing faces doesn't make you faceless because the faces belongs to no-one but Arya is still someone.
Was Arya ever really a faceless man? I'd say she failed at that. In any case, there's another theory that Arya died in Braavos and the Waif took her face - it isn't Arya we see in Westeros now, but the Waif with Arya's face.
If it's really the Waif, why take out the Freys?

If Littlefinger and Perter aren't the same person then I think it would greatly undermine Littlefinger's arc. A big part of LF's character arc is the growth he got from the duel with Brandon when he realized that in life if you need something you should take it and he didn't believe in love anymore and vowed he would never what he felt when Bran defeated him

It would completely undermine it. GRRMs character are all supposed to be grey areas in morals. Their actions are all motivated in the real world, and it would seem ridiculous for him to just throw away such a developed character for some magic trick “got ya” moment. Also it would destroy to lore of RT and the whole reason for the entire series. Like this was some massive Oceans Eleven twist ending? Lol

that's desire. he doesn't truly care about neither of them he only wants them for his own selfish needs. he was more than happy to trade Cat for a younger more beautiful version (Sansa) and didn't act to stop Cat's murder in any way nor did they show him grieving ovee her and I bet he would do the same to Sansa if it came to it.

These theories are amazing, but it is something George would have done. Not Dan and Dave. It's sad but I think the theories are a result of us fans not wanting to accept the bitter truth that D&D fucked up Littlefinger's story and purpose (and the way they did it just to give Sansa more fan respect and make her likable, because she is not fan favorite Stark)...as they did to many plots and story lines since season 4. :(
It is clear that even if this theory is true it would still not appear in the series because not all the audience would understand it

Watched a bit of this back in January and am now back after rewatching the entire series.
Little crazy theory..But What I think is Littlefinger definitely have some connection with Targaryens. Just watched S07E01...a scene where Sam is reading a book and picture of a that Dagger comes. Sam says this to Gilly.."The Targaryens used dragonglass to decorate their weapons" This totally means that that dagger belongs to some Targaryen as it has a dragon bone attached to it. And Littlefinger has some connection with Targaryens.

@Ryan Swaggert I would say yes and no. 1. All the theories that turn everyone into a Tagaryen are indeed getting out of hand yes. True. 2. I would say, but what about all the bastards that were legitimized by Aegon IV (The Unworthy) Targaryan? He him self (minus a few other notables) is legit the reason why there are so many possibilities for there to be so many possible Targaryen's running around in the first place. Hell Aegor Rivers (Bitter Steel), Daemon Black Fyre and Brynden Rivers (Blood Raven) are just to name a few and at least one of them is currently present in the show. Or have you not read any of the books?
Not saying everyone is a Targaryen, but there are at least a lot of loyalists and I can count for the legit possibility of at leas two being secret Targaryens. But I would also say...no more than two. Lol
My theory that Craster is secretly Rhaegar would make Gilly, little Sam and all the male children taken for the Night King to be secret Targaryens. But I wouldn't be surprised to find out that they all have Stark blood running in them. Little Sam as a Son of Ice and Fire.
I hate when people make theories were they mix "evidences" fron the book and the show especially since both have differ in many storylines from the book.
The book is not 100% canon in the show but you can use it as a clue for what is true in the show. Just take it with a grain of salt.
In the theory the person states that Little Finger is worried about Bran looking into his past. But in Little Fingers death scene Bran demonstrates that he has done just that which would have required him to visit several parts of his history. And traveling around as three different people seems quite time consuming.
Actually, if you delve into all of the GOT lore, this theory becomes very probable! Hats off to the person who wrote it! At the very least it is very appetizing food for thought!

@@tops3164 Maybe, but I dont think so. Jamie was one of the only witnesses to the burning of the Starks in Kings Landing (Eddard & Brandon). As stated many times in film and books, this disturbed him deeply and was one of the pivotal occurrences that led Jamie to his Kingslaying. In that case he was a Kingsguard but ultimately dishonored his position. Possibly Jamie will be part of Jon Snows "Kingsgaurd" he will not dishonor the white book this go-round. He will protect John with his life, slaying and possibly being slain himself by Euron.
Brienne is also a "King Slayer" now. Neither of them will kill the Night King.

It’s an interesting theory, but I think it’s too much to throw at us in the last few episodes. They didn’t even include Lady Stoneheart in the show, so think about how they threw out that curveball. I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a faceless man hanging around, but not Littlefinger. If he wasn’t PB then why convert his crush on Catelyn to pining and “saving” himself for Sansa?

Just sad Petyr died like a Punk when he was a Super Pimp. It makes NO SENSE. Him on the Throne would have made it realistic. All these lessons to be learned, art imitating life. It's like watch TGIF. Happy endings, bunch of fluff. LOTR and Harry Potter junk. Might as well be watching Disney.

Him ending up on the throne would not be realistic. Everyone, literally everyone knows he's a snake and the only card he had left was taking the throne by marrying Sansa and even then that was a reach. He took a bunch of risks that could have gotten him killed throughout the show and he eventually died because Bran had more information than he did which no one had done before really (outside of maybe Varys). It would be super unrealistic if his plans just kept magically working and he was invincible. He was always bound to die like a punk it's not like he would die in battle.
1. I think that petyr will break it all into democracy and done but not until he actually sits on the throne

I love this community because of the theories. They’re always so inventive and interesting, but as we’re nearing the end, the theories are just getting out of hand. I can poke so many holes in this theory, but I’ll just say this - trying to address not only the fact that “littlefinger” faked his death but also that he’s actually Rhaegar (?????) simply can’t fit into the schedule of THE LAST *SIX* EPISODES. We’re already going to be addressing Jon/Dany and potentially a pregnancy from that union, a Jon/Arya/Bran reunion, Dany vs Sansa in Winterfell, Jon discovering his true identity, Cersei vs Jamie (who has presumably pledged to the Northern cause/the Great War in the North despite Cersei), Cersei’s pregnancy, the Golden Company’s arrival in Westeros, more than likely more Bran/Three Eyed Raven stuff, as well as the March of the dead passed the wall and then of course the Great War itself.
Well night king does reach winterfell and HAS to be killed by azor ahai which rhaegar says it would be his son and rhaegar would do anything to get the prophecy true knowing how attached he is to it meaning that jon will kill night king after all
little finger was holding a knife to ned’s throat in season 1 and proceeded to tell him he shouldn’t have trusted him. immediately after it cuts to a scene of Ayra training with Serio. There is no way he could be in the throne room and then immediately teleport to training with Ayra, even if he is a faceless man they don’t have teleportation abilities.
by his theory and shown in movies, faceless man has 'helpers' who also have ability to change faces (remember that servant of jaqen who tried to kill Arya).. so someone else could have been taken syrio's face for the time being while real littlefinger was holding a knife to neds throat..
I' m not getting my hopes up until I see the very last one second of the last episode of the final GOT season!....
I actually had a theory of my own at the beginning of the series, that Jaqen was Raegar. He had a strand of white hair to remind himself of his past, of who he was, became a faceless man to hide his identity and was helping Arya because she looked like Lyanna very much at her spirit, and when Arya told him that "a girl is Arya Stark of Winterfel", Jaqen smiled because she reminded him of himself- he didn't t let go off his past too and somehow, I' m hoping that he will reappear as Raegar at the final season.... but as I said, what I thought, it maybe the stupidest theory of all, but a girl can only hope....
I guess I' ll just wait and see the outcome!
