The only comfort I get from watching you climb dangerous mountains is that you posted the video, so I know you survived. I have a fear of heights. Love watching you access places I will never see. Thanks.
I love this too. But I'm old, and I have to say I'm glad I dozed off before whatever parts were life-threatening. I couldn't take watching scary stuff right now. I'm not afraid to die. Just don't wanna watch a young guy almost die. And I'd rather not die by falling.
@@jago76 I also have a fear of heights and even get that weird scared feeling when I watch videos of people pointing the camera down from precariously high vantage points. Oddly, my fears have not kept me from hiking up and over mountain passes on sketchy (to me) narrow trails. I never go alone though.
My favorite part is when you didn't fall and die. My least favorite part was worrying you were going to fall and die. Thank you for the adventure today and for the past 5 or so years I've been watching. Keep up the good work.
If you see a video, he didn't die. Unless someone found his body, took all of his gear, edited and uploaded the content to his channel, he's perfectly fine.
HUGE RESPECT!! A drive then a hike followed by a climb leading to a view are your most enjoyable videos as far as I'm concerned. This is one of your best.
This is, to me, also one of your best, Tristan. A variety of activities which illustrate you doing what you do best!! The climbing was very intense but you did it very well, sir! Wish I had your skills!!😊 love your channel, Tristan. ❤❤
You are a brave soul, Tristan. No people, true climbing , breathtaking scenery, rugged landscapes with remarkable drone footage & camera work make SUVRVing the channel to subscribe to. Simply amazing. Seriously, is it harder to ascend or descend from a mountain top like that one ? I think I would be dreading climbing down. 👍🏻🙋🏼♀️
It's both harder and easier in different ways. It's easier going down in the sense that you know what to expect. But it's harder going down because it's just more awkward to climb down. Thanks for watching!
Phew! You had us holding our breath on this one! Love the beautiful drone footage as well. Thank you for sharing. You put so much thought & planning in to your hikes & climbs. We love your channel.
Long time watcher, first time commenting: Dude, You Rock! Your exploits both thrill & inspire me, working on that time when I'm actually living on the road and I'm taking notes & many have your fingerprints on them & I'm a woman & 65! 💪🥾
Nice!! Glad I'm not the only older one (64 yrs old) who aspires to get out on the road far more than I have with lots of mountain hiking/climbing. He definitely inspires me, as well. All the best to you in your adventures!
Yet another enjoyable and fun video with great scenery, no social drama or click bait, and great narration. Thank you. I’m liking your new drone! Thanks, Tristan!
I have been watching your videos for more than 2 years and this is my first comment. It is very thrilling and the only comfort is knowing you are still alive.
I thought I was going to fall out of my recliner watching you climb that. I've paused with you at the top to write this. I shudder at the thought of your climb down. People who don't have a fear of heights mystify me. You are incredible, Tristan!
I was saying to myself, please don’t climb this to make a video. It looks too dangerous. But when I heard you let out a rejoicing victory yell at the top, I knew you did it for yourself and just took us along with you. Great video! Thank you, Tristan!
Oh Tristan what a climb! I know I could never do it but you make it look doable. Your excitement was evident. What a view! What a climb! Congratulations!
I have a fear of heights and falling, so this was nerve-wracking for me, but I can't stop watching your videos! I love the GoPro and drone views. The scenery is amazing. I love your sense of adventure!
Free Soloing in remote locations is not to be taken lightly. The temptation to continue upwards can sometimes overpower our ability to down climb. Excellent video! Amazing location, very much enjoyed it.
I thought that was kind of foolhardy with no rope for going down. I climbed all through the 70s until my daughter was born, then toned it down to safer routes as there were people who needed me. Took my daughter on the JMT and we climbed Mt. Banner together. She wanted to do Mt. Ritter and I said it is a bit too technical for an 8 year old girl. She was bothered more by the damned mosquitos than the heights.
I enjoyed your excitement about reaching the top. It must have been a great feeling of accomplishment. The going back down part would have been the sweaty palms part for me.
Wow Tristan, just wow. Long time subscriber and I don't think I've ever heard you let out a "WOOOO!" like you did in this episode. And I have to say I felt that elation with you! I look forward to your videos every Saturday morning and have enjoyed watching your channel and the quality of content grow. You sir truly are one of the GOATs of this genre.
I’ve watched from the beginning of your channel, and this is one of the rare few that has made me hold my breath. So, I guess this one was ‘breathtaking’. WOW. Well done. Keep the amazing content coming- (including the Wyoming creek fishing)
Wow. Beautiful and terrifying at the same time. I would be so afraid that the rocks would slough off and I would go flying. I know that you know what you are doing, which is the only reason I can bear to watch it at all! I can imagine how satisfying it must be for you. Glad you had the opportunity to do it.
Sounds like just the right combination of challenge, excitement and adrenaline, Tristan. Glad you made it through safely. I have hiked alone frequently in Italy and have found myself grateful for the skills to get to similar places. Sometimes I question my sanity, which I think is a good thing along with having the good sense, willi and humility to turn back at any point. 😉
Yep, definitely TOO Dangerous (for me). Well done Tristan. Every time I think you might be softening you surprise me. The base of the cliff is on my bucket list.
OMG Tristan you are crazy. I always freak out about your safety when I see you do this type of climb. The views were utterly amazing. Thanks again for taking us all on these great adventures of yours. Stay safe. My favorite part was you making your goal safely.
What an awesome climb! and one that I will never ever attempt, my fear of heights would never let me LOL so happy you share these incredible videos with us :)
Congratulations on the climb, Tristan. I too gave out a whoop! when you reached the summit. 🙂 I am appreciative of your videos as I will likely never see such beautiful vistas with my own eyes. Thank yo for all you do.
Beautiful scenery, you are definitely bold and what an adventure. My age and lack of experience rock climbing would have me circling and looking upward. Thank you for the view, it's stunning. As a subscriber this video is worth a second viewing. Keep bringing this great country in focus, beautiful.
Everyone has said it better than I could. But you are insane!!!!!!! I’m so glad you made it back safely. The angles of your video (especially looking down), had me choking on my you know what’s!!!!!! Another great video, thank you!!!!
Excellent video and climb. You are one tough and sturdy guy. Getting down always seems more dangerous to me. So happy you are safe and able to post this video.
Thanks for mentioning that you would deconstruct the cairns you built. There is a good reason to place them, but too many people build them just for fun with possible negative impacts. You demonstrate good practice and admirable behavior.
I'm writing this from my homebuilt RV, boondocking in the Mojave Desert in California. I'm 67, not a climber, but I have done a lot of solo hiking. I have also gone up cliffs that I then found terrifying to climb back down. I'd love to do a climb like that with some protection. It looks like going up would be easy enough, but coming down would be the spooky part for me. Nice job and narration. Thanks for posting!
As you were on your way up... that rock looked extremely loose... with crack and crevices that looked like they would come apart if you even breathed on them. Congratulations on your climb!
From the robbers cave to the ascent of a really gnarly cliff Wow! I caught myself holding my breath and then remembered like the previous comment observed- yes of course you made it up and back safely! Thanks for taking us along on this extraordinary adventure.
Absolutely amazing! Words cannot do justice to the admiration you deserve. I am glad you are safe and thank you for sharing this unbelievable accomplishment.
This is definitely an instance I'm happy to live vicariously through you with! I love that area of the state and have barely even scratched the surface out that way because of the remoteness, but props to you for completing something very few people have done! Personally, I found it really interesting that there was a 20 Peso bill in there. The image on the reverse side of the 20 Peso is a place I absolutely love called Monte Alban in Oaxaca, Mexico. I had the pleasure of visiting that site last summer and it's a really interesting set of ruins. I made sure to keep one of the bills when I came back as a memento of my trip out there because of how beautiful the depiction of the site is on the note. Always love a great Saturday morning episode from ya! Lookin' forward to the next one!
What a thrilling looking climb Tristan. Glad you made it unharmed. Still loving the land cruiser. My FJ is still going strong. I’m looking forward to some big adventures in the spring time in the upper peninsula of Michigan. Cheers my friend.
Thanks a lot. I hope you're happy. Most of your climb had me squirming in my recliner with a pretty strong need to use the bathroom! Great video! I was going to ask about the drone. I have the Mini 3 Pro. I thought the climb would have taken longer. Like you said 30 minute battery time. Actually, 32 or 33 minutes with a fresh charge. The canister with no register inside makes me think Geo Cache. If that's the case that's a really tough cache! Thanks again!
Awesome, awesome presentation, Tristan!! Thank you for sharing. And a hearty Congratulations on your accomplishment!!! Stunningly beautiful scenery!!!!!
Been soaking up your content since being shown it by the algorithm about a week ago. Thank you so much for being such a trailblazer for us! Your cinematography, music & story telling are all so beautiful. What a climb! You have such a great level head but man just keep being safe out there! :)
My favorite part was you not falling! I hope Cassie gave you an earful!!! I would imagine the climb down was the most challenging. Very impressive climb and what a view!
Love the video and your explanation of who should consider a climb such as this and those who shouldn't. Also, thanks for providing coordinates, a very helpful touch.
This was one for the books. Great job. I would be interested to learn more about your past like what you did before suv RVing, what you went to college for, etc.

Oh my gosh Tristan! What an amazing climb and video. I got pretty nervous watching you climb that. Be careful out there and thank you for bringing us along.
Wonderful hike and climb, and thanks for sharing with us your newest drone. I'm seriously looking into getting one in the next two months....gonna let you "test it out" for a few more videos and see how it keeps working for you. Based on this footage, it seems to do really well.
That was hard to watch! Obviously, you survived since there's a video... I do love your videos, you go places I never will, but darn if some of them aren't hard to watch!
