Not many weapons, vehicles or aircraft of the World War Two Era have gained the iconic status that the Tiger tank did.
It has a reputation that stands to this day.
Just to see one of these beasts standing in a museum display is an experience.
However, there is one that can be seen in action.
It’s the last working Tiger tank in the World -’ Tiger 131 ‘ of the Tank Museum in Bovington, England.

I visited the Tank Museum, last week where Tiger Tank 131 and the Sherman Firefly, from the film Fury, are stored. Magnificent machines! You could see all the battle scars they had received from the war. I highly advise to anyone to go the museum and see them for yourself as well as many more other vehicles of war. Also being able to see Tiger Tank 131 in action when there are events when they drive the tank and many other vehicles around. As well as you can ride in some of them.
Tiger 131 is a marvel of a machine, was lucky enough to see the working one at the Tank Museum. Truly a holy grail for Tank enthusiasts.

Powerful yet few were actually produced and deployed on the battlefield (Unlike most world war II movies make you believe)
very rare yes
Then you gotta take into consideration how much of a chore it was to even front one of these beasts on the frontlines. Specially if you look at tank fights post-D-Day, the hedgerows made the Tiger hard to move around, and it didn't help the soft terrain during the rainy days would sink these heavies in the mud. But in terms of lethality the Tiger was an absolute demon to the allied armor.
1500 were made...not that rare. But unfortunately, they were too massively outnumbered by allied tanks...by more than 10-1
It's almost extinct like the real tiger
@@UFCMania155 Rare in actual sighting, when you consider the amount with mechanical issues and logistical problems, you'd probably see around a third of the tigers and even then, compared to something like the Panzer 4 which had around 8,500 produced (Variants included) fighting on multiple fronts and spread out among kilometres of land, with this in mind, you can truly understand the perspective of hearing about the "legendary tiger tank".
These animations are progressively getting better, I'm loving to very slight but noticable increase in detail in every video.
The tiger tanks mind is probably like
“Man this is gonna be a great vacation”
but no he would just be a statue for more than a decade
At least Tiger 131 was spared the fate of an engine failure.
It is a Tiger tank. The transmission was never especially unreliable. The myth of an unreliable transmission largely surrounds the Panther tank , which was somewhat "front heavy'' and did have some related issues. Even these problems have been grossly exaggerated however, mostly by members of the online war gamming community.
In the Case of Tiger 131 there has never been a recorded transmission failure. Engine failures have been surprisingly common however, not just during the recent restoration process , but also during the post capture examination process during which many of the engines were effectively tested to destruction. She went through several engines and many engine rebuilds during the war. Not one transmission failure.

This tank also used for Hollywood. Including Fury, where this Tiger tank engaged 3 Sherman tanks during the battle
Actually 4, 1 was knocked out before knowing what’s coming. Though Fury’s gun should’t have problem piercing Tiger’s frontal armour, the movie had to end with a close engagement.
@Derrick Liu actually Fury should have been the first to die. If you watch the movie you would see that fury is in the front and by German tactics you would destroy the front tank and then the back tank of the column. And fury should have stuck out like a sore thumb to the tiger for having the 76mm which all German tank commanders feared and would go out of their way to kill first.
Just to add on to what you said even if fury was second or third tank usually or an experienced German tank crew would target fury first since it could pen the tiger front armor. The rest where 75mm cannons. Another fun fact most tank Sherman tank crew should have the 76mm gun at this time in the war but most crews turn down the government offer because they where used to the 75mm guns and they felt that the 76mm guns would not work for most crews.
@SILENT SLIVER yeah absolutely, there was no need for any of the tanks to charge because even at that range the 75mm could still do some damage. And I just rewatched that scene and what happened to the tigers loader? It had a really high rate of fire to just a few final shots that seemed to take for ever to load.
