I like the transparency, seems other sheriffs are taking a page from Grady Judd's playbook. Please adjust the microphone volume, and have a tech wire it into both left and right channels.

No, that sheriff has been doing that for years, nothing new, and the only reason Sheriff Grady Judd is popular is that he speaks in a way like a common person, which is good .

Every other cop in Florida is the same way.
If they did this to all of them, then no one would be in jail.

I would like to say I appreciate how law enforcement, in the state of Florida at least, seems to be taking the initiative in detailing the narrative in a lot of these cases of public interest. I used to be a reporter for a major newspaper, and back then, in the 1980s, journalism was conducted differently. Certain reporters, who were highly thought of, were given greater access by sources such as the police departments so that they could be given a scoop over other news media by getting a call from a crucial source, thereby making a name for themselves. Now, the police and sheriff's departments are going directly to the public with huge amounts of information, providing it directly from the horse's mouth, not filtered through any reporter or writer with a huge ego trying to skew the narrative to the political position that writer or editor wanted the story to go. Of all the bad things said about how media works today, I think press conferences by police and sheriff's offices are a good way to handle major cases, and I am grateful for the way this is happening. I think it puts the law enforcement officers in a very good light and takes the narrative out of the hands of biased political reporters and editors.

So if you attempt to protect yourself in your own home, you will go to jail and it's the same way with Pasco County as well, they do not believe in the stand your ground or castle doctrine, you will go to jail for defending yourself and your own property. Sorry to hear this. But in EVERY career, there are aholes. You all see them at work. But the clearwater police keep my city safe and unlike St. Pete, where I not only don't go unarmed but carry a second mag in my waist band for tactical reload, I have no problem with homeless and have never experience a robbery like I did in St Pete. When they got in my face and snarled that's a nice camera, I clicked the safety off in my pocket... on my knife. It's not a knife any longer. I have no intention of being put in a coma or coffin. I WILL defend myself. Fortunately the 2 huge dudes heard the click and ran off because me half their size I might have taken out the first but the second my have prevented me from posting this. My Clearwater police keep my city safe and we have their backs.

Cop or no cop. It is such a ridiculous charge for unlawful use of communication device. When they started that years ago, it's just so so dumb already getting charged with all the other crimes, everybody uses a phone every day that would be like getting charged with talking to somebody about something or some. Crime that happened, it's just so dumb. They need to throw that charge away and do away with it. Hes already been charged with all these crimes. And just like all the other people getting charged with crimes. Getting charged with a communication device is just ridiculous. It's the siliest thing ever.

Maybe you don't get the concept that a police officer shouldn't be arrested in the first place? They get a huge benefit of the doubt to begin with. They really hate arresting fellow cops at all because it' s bad press. Though technically you are correct, an arrested cop has a huge amount of evidence against them.

If you think this is a rare occurrence, our almost never happens. You need to pull your head out of your ass and inspect your department and not make it one of those we investigated ourselves and found we did nothing wrong. There is corruption in your department top to bottom you might think your stellar in your great law enforcement officer that I could tell you right now the vast minority of your officers don’t even know the constitution and they violating civil rights every single day with impunity, knowing that they have qualified immunity which is total BS. the fact that you even say that it rarely happens is a complete and pathetic joke portrayed on the public
