So far, so good. I always found the interface daunting in version 1. But most of the interface changes have been a big improvement in version 2. For $20, this is the best deal in software (for the iPad). Not having to go to a different mode just to make selections is such a huge improvement.
Yes I plan to Jimmy (just need more time to make all the tutorials I would like to! lol) Although I would use Darkroom (Lightroom alternative... tho I do use Lightroom too, as its very good on iPad) so normally I'd edit the photo in AP2 iPad and then color grade it in Darkroom if you know what I mean, hope you make a few Darkroom tutorials soonish :)
Hi Andrew I’m bit confused if I should buy v2 or stick with the older version for some time . One thing that can convince me to upgrade if we can change the colour of the object in the HSL to a specific colour by putting its hex value .Can you please check if they have added this feature in V2 . You also made a video on it the changing colour of the car but you changed the colour with the wheel. Can you please check if they have add hex code insertion tab there .Perhaps you can make a very helpful video on it like you always do 👍
Great video, one of the things you pointed out is you are left handed I found a really big problem with that, as I’m right handed, when you have the sliders to alter size or flow or hardness, if you are using your pen or finger they come up on the left side of the screen but if you alter the sizes with your right hand you can’t see what size you have changed it to as your arm/hand is reaching over the screen, there is a left handed button that can be toggled in the preferences to change these round although it changes everything round but I have soon got used to things being on the other side to normal
Good point Matt, being left-handed I've never noticed this but try using your left hand to make these changes, might take a bit of getting used to tho :) I've also toggled the left-handed button in the preferences but like you changed it back right away, it just didn't look and feel right! lol :)
Great video, very clearly explained. I learned more in a few minutes here than when watching the official Affinity videos. One thing, I tried to replicate some of what you did with the text box. I managed to get snapping on and got the red horizontal central snap line, but I could not get the green vertical snap line to show (so could not snap to the entre) - any ideas? Some settings I have not turned on? - Brand new iPad pro M2, 11" with pencil 2 - Cheers.

Thanks for the video! Really appreciate the tip about the various brush functions hidden in each of the sliders! I didn’t know that, and I’ve been going back into the actual brush settings menu to change the brush hardness as I thought that this was the only way to do it! You’ve saved my Affinity-Photo-Life there so… CHEERS! Pretty pleased with the update so far although I’m finding the Layers a bit fiddly but I suppose it’s about getting used to the new ways. I got quite good at V1 and now having to learn some new stuff is keeping me on my digital-toes! It’s all good fun though, especially with some great help from yourself so… Thanks! 🤘
