This was a great trip, Steve! Who doesn't love the Andy Griffith Show? My wife and I were in Manteo/Roanoke Island a couple of months ago, and made it up to the gate where Andy is buried. It would be nice if they would open it up from time to time so we could pay our respects. I remember I was in Branson, MO when I learned of his passing.
I read a comment one time that said he was a very private man. It was from a neighbor that said they lived down from him for awhile & he wasn’t too pleasant about his fame like he didn’t like being approached or bothered much. I’m not sure if they’d ever let the public go. :( it would be amazing to see! Thank you for making this video.

Here’s a nice little tid-bit for fans of THE ANDY GRIFFITH SHOW. Did you know that Earl Hagen was under a lot of pressure to write the theme because there was so little time before production was scheduled to begin. When it was done, everyone liked it, but wanted to hear the lyrics. That was the first Hagen had heard that he was supposed to write music AND lyrics, and with so little time remaining before production , he abandoned any attempt to come up with lyrics and decided to just whistle. Best show ever made, love watching over and over again. Sad that it left Netflix, must have watched each episode over 100 times. Barny Fife was of course my favorite character. Keep up the great work, love watching.
My all time favorite character was "Floyd the barber". Don Knotts once said of him that he was the same on and off the set--a natural. It was the "Helen" character l hated. She was a stick of dynamite.
Agree on both. Floyd is one of those rare character actors that can make a show but is overshadowed by other legendary characters/actors. Totally agree about Helen, it was though poor Andy had to walk on eggshells around her volatile character.

Ms. Corsaut also played a role on Bonanza as a love interest for the character of Adam Cartwright played by Pernell Roberts. Of all of his character’s love interest she was my favorite. She was a beautiful lady of grace.
Hi Steve what a beautiful looking place good to see you looking well hope your mum and family are keeping well to stay safe out there Steve
Thanks Wendy, mom is hanging in there 😊👍
@@TheGraveyardChannel that's good Steve I wish her and you all the best of health
One of the best! I didn't like it when Elanor (SP?) Donahue left, she was great!
Great video, thank you !! ⭐️😁 my favorites were Andy and Barney. I’m lucky to be able to watch the show every day on streaming video but it’s sad to think that most of them are gone to their rewards ⭐️
I live in the real Mayberry. Mount Airy nc it’s Andy’s home town
That must be awesome! It’s definitely on my bucket list to visit someday soon. Thanks for sharing Bradley 😊👍
I visited there in February of 2019, I also live in N.C. Swansboro, this was a place that I had always wanted to visit, another trip is planned for this September or October.
I was there a few weeks ago. Definitely an interesting place.
@@TheGraveyardChannel I would say go soon, coz Betty Lynn still there about to turn 94 but you'll probably not going to see her anyway due to the coronavirus. I hope and pray this stuff goes away b4 Betty. I've met her twice, once back in 2006 and got my picture with her, she is as sweet as they come!!!
I do believe September is when they have autumn festival it would be the best time to visit.
I enjoyed this so much. Thank you Steve for always sharing such delightful adventures with us.
Thanks for coming along for the ride with me Rpr files 👍
It's so strange how Andy's widow demolish his home the day after his death. I find it mighty peculiar.
I never knew that.
Huh I didn't here about that ? Why did she do that for?
Angela N I am not sure. Andy wanted it to be a museum. They have been married for at least 20 years so I would have expected her to respect his wishes. There might be more that went on. For economic reasons?
@@theviking2877 it was reported they had a long going affair for years on the show. (Helen Krumpett)
Best show ever made, love watching over and over again. Sad that it left Netflix, must have watched each episode over 100 times. Barny Fife was of course my favorite character.
Keep up the great work, love watching.
The entire cast was special and very talented in their own way, but I would have to say Barney (Don Knotts).
Thanks again Steve for another great video. I still watch this show today.
@@richardjohnson8197 True
Agreed. Helen was terrible.
One of my favorite shows Barney Fife thanks for the video !!!
Thanks for watching Dwight 😊👍
Having to wear a mask in a cemetery is the absolute height of absurdity.
Thank you Steve. It was great to visit the graves with you.
will the actors be wearing facemasks when making that movie? no they won't be due to they are special and take precautions. Unlike us peons.
Enjoyed! Thank you! Makes me miss them being alive and cherish the show today!
Thanks George. Glad you enjoyed it 😊👍
Thanks Steve. Great tour.
Andy Griffith one of my fav shows.👍😀
I watch reruns daily. Makes a great day in these pandemic times.☕️🍪🍩
Like your mask.👍take care.stay safe. Hope your mom is okay.

Thanks Lora 😷👍
Thank you! ...the noises in the back ground didn't take away from your presentation, which i was glad to see. I watch the Andy Griffith show usually twice A-day but every day, at least once a day, I'm not happy unless I get to see a show
No you are a true fan. Thanks for watching and sharing with us Linda 😊👍

A big thank you. Whistled that theme song almost the whole time. Too funny how we can place those simple things to wonderful memories.
I know, it really is funny. And I’ve been whistling the tune for a week now. Thanks Cathy 😊👍
