Friday Live: Starting a flower painting using the wipe out method

- Today I'm going to be looking at this composition above and seeing if I can improve it a little when I block it out using the wip- out method.
The wipe-out method is great for playing around with light and dark shapes in a composition before committing to detail.
It's also a brilliant way to get away from thinking in terms of line drawing and start thinking in terms of mass shapes instead.
If I get something I'm happy with today just in values, I'll go on and finish it in colour in another couple of sessions after this one.
I used to paint in oils then moved to acrylics. I had done this method. You’ve inspired me to retry this. Thanks so much for posting
Love this way of ragging off. It gives you a great idea if it’s going to work or not. 💙
Motivos inspiradores!!! Suas lives são impressionantes!!!!❤❤❤

@@aidamarkiw Thank you :)
gorgeous Paul!
Thank you!
Bonjour merveilleux pour moi, c’est ainsi que je travaille enfin, j’essaie, par les valeurs, les claires puis les foncées et l’intérmediaire la couleur du fond. Merci beaucoup. Un bonjour de la France du Sud.
I’ve been afraid to ask about Banjo. I haven’t heard him lately and was afraid the move might have been too much stress for him so I was happy to hear him. 😊
He's doing fine. Very old now, and losing his balance, but eating well and happy. When he's not demanding snuggles, he spends most of his time poking about and snoozing in the sun in the farm yard.
Hi can I please ask what brush you use for blending over your edges etc
Williamsburg makes a lovely lead white
Thakns, I'll see if I can get some.
Is it dangerous to sand on cremnitz white (lead white)?
If you're going to do it you should wear a mask. The sanding I do is pretty light though.
Where did you get the cremnitz white from
What classes do you run?
