  • This Friday Khutbah has a very important message. It’s about believing that Allah is sufficient for us. We should always direct our needs towards Allah and we should not put ourselves at the mercy of any human being alone. Some people are always willing to help but they are not capable of helping. But Allah is both willing and capable at all times. In fact, Allah loves when we call Him and keep on calling Him.
    Let’s learn together, grow together. Share this message. Spread the love.
    The Friday Khutbah was recorded at Islamic Association of Collin County, Plano, Texas, on Friday, 16 March 2012. Here is the link to the source: • Being Independent of C... .

    We all strive to be better muslims, hope to please Allah and long for His blessings and Rahmah. Let’s add more good deeds that we can do consistently from now on. Let’s be better Muslims. Let’s work on a NEW YOU.
    The way of life of a true Muslim has universal values. It benefits everyone, including you, as well as the community and the world in fact.

    There is a beautiful Hadith about Passing on Knowledge:
    Reported by Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-As (RA): The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Convey from me even an Ayah of the Qur’an.” (Bukhari).

    There was a problem with my audio in my first upload. I deleted it and reupload. Alhamdulillah it's okay now. This is a very nice Khutbah by our Sheikh. We know this but we forget sometimes... We have to be reminded that ALLAH is sufficient.... Let's learn together, grow together. Enjoy! Wassalam.

    Please pray for me. I’m not well mentally, emotionally, nor spiritually. It is said that sincere prayers made for others are accepted. The angels pray for those who pray for their brothers. They say ‘for you as well’. Hence it is beneficial for both sides. May Allah (God) answer the prayers of all of us. Ameen. Please write ameen if you have prayed so that I can pray for you.

    Social media has certainly not helped with these bad habits. The Bible has a certain phrase about not expressing all your internal thoughts. It struck me the other day. It has been very rewarding seeing Quran lectures and seeing what we have in common as we strive to improve our lives.

      Dear Liz. There are actually many similarities between Islam and Christianity. There’s even a chapter dedicated to Mary (May peace be upon her) in the Quran. You should check out Yaqeen Institute and Mufti Menk channels 💖

      MashaAllah. Like Sheikh said, sometimes we have to ask but the key is we first always go to Allah and “complain”. By Allah’s Al Mighty power, Allah will bring the right person to you to help you.
      It’s our responsibility as a Muslim in a community to “find” people who need help and do not wait until they come out and ask for help.
      People who have mental health problem, those around them should reach out to them and offer help. Sometimes they do not know it. May Allah help us, Aamiin.

    I always believed it was normal for humans psychologically to need a little community to be our 'safe space'... the place where we feel embraced, loved and accepted. This video was hard to accept because although I understand we should trust allah the most.. the idea that we have to go thru life without truly being able to trust anyone is scary and lonely... because on the days my relationship with allah isnt great...I'm stuck.

    But the Quran is filled that we should help each other and be sincere in that.
    Almost every surah tells us to do good.
    I think Allah tests us also through each other, do we help or do we turn our back.
    Yes Allah is the one we should worship and ask for help mostly, but as humans, we also NEED other humans.
    Many people that have never been in isolation, or have been completely marginalised just dont understand. And then its easy to say ..you dont need humans.
    Omar Suleiman has obviously never been in the sea drowning...Yes you ask Allah, constantly, but if you see humans walking by, in extreme despair, you ask for help in complete vulnerability. Allah loves helping people THROUGH other people.
    Have some EMPATHY Omar. Please...you are intelligent enough to understand this.

    • @Stoney-Jacksman

      Its almost like saying you dont need food..just pray.
      God made us in a way that we need food, we need oxygen, we need other humans.ESPECIALLY when you are dependant/handicapped etc. I really, really dislike this simplistic way of thinking and it even further marginalises certain people that are already afraid of asking for help, or are ashamed of their position in life.
      I wish Omar would read this!

    • @MindBodySpirit-MBS
      @MindBodySpirit-MBS  3 роки тому +4

      Yes, we help each other of course. As a community, we should find people to help and do not wait until people come to us for help, like Abu Bakar Ra and Umar Ra did..
      We first “complain” to Allah and ask for a solution to our problem. By Allah’s mercy and wisdom, help arrives to the person through people around him/her or through the sources unimaginable. Of course may not be immediately, but the point is to not lose hope in Allah. We just do not put our hope on people or we will be disappointed. That’s the message. In shaa Allah.
      Thanks for your comment.

    • @Stoney-Jacksman
      @Stoney-Jacksman 3 роки тому

      @@MindBodySpirit-MBS Yes but that doesnt necessarily react to the subject matters I listed.
      Also many Muslim (and i have experienced this) when you ask them for help, or they see you need it. They just say, well pray and ask Allah. Instead of helping themselves..so they (ab)use it as an excuse. And this video gives such people even more ground to stand on.
      Like I said, Allah tests us with each other, do we help, and the easy part of helping is donating money etc. No , im talking about listening to someone in need, being there for people, helping marginalised people, daring to feel empathy. Daring to feel pain and hurt of others.
      But thats the thing, many are scared of that burden, so they say ' ah just pray Allah will take care of it'. But Allah loves giving help THROUGH people. And people are tested through people.. what are you gonna do when someone needs you.

      @@Stoney-Jacksman if u need someone someone talk through your problems, then a therapist is better than always going to your friend's, as they are qualified to help, and to help u to progress. Whereas a friend will just keep taking on your emotional burdens without being able to really help you become better.
      But you should try healing through the quran, and really try to heal yourself with ruqyah. Sincerely asking for healing from Allah. Also learning about the names of Allah again so u can get a better and more positive perceptive on life. Because there is only so much people can really do for you. It's just a cycle, and u need to try to find happiness within yourself, and not just from the comfort of people.
