Sometimes we can't re-establish ties with those who harmed us, because it cost us our emotional and mental health, wellbeing even leading to poor physical health. Nothing is worth that, and I believe that the believer should always protect themselves from harm - even if it from those who were perceived to be 'close' to us.

Yes totally agree. This is what speakers fail to mention in lectures and it is very frustrating when they speak in a way that suggests that you should be tolerating emotional and mental abuse “for the sake of Allah.”

yes sometimes our family becomes our biggest tests. It’s better to built a strong mental physical and emotional foundation for yourself and pray for more strength in your relationships, so that you can protect yourself. I would suggest

Sister Assalamualaikum . I know it's hard to restablish ties with someone who harmed you but if you hold a grudges against them it's definitely going to be more harmful for your mental and physical health.. I don't tell that you should forgive them all of once. Just try to love you more and find the way that are not going to harm yourself. I don't know what's going in your life and it's always between you and Allah SWT. May we all are are guided by him. Allahumma Amin. I know how it feel when someone close to you hurts you but take your time to heal yourself and I am not the one to decide for you if you should forgive them or not. Just think by not forgiving them if it easy for you or it's more easy if you're going ahead by giving you a chance to live and be close to Allah SWT who give us everything in the world.. Lastly don't get me wrong and forgive me if I said something that hurt you..Allah hafiz and take care of yourself.. Be Happy ..May Allah SWT give you all happiness and protect us from shaitaan's trap..

8:40 yes, it's so very true. because the people of Ihsan is the people who "works" for Allah.
and hence "this type of people do not seek reward from others". he/she seeks rewards from Allah.
people of Ihsan knew that they had to "suffer/ manipulated by others" (to a certain point) to "be getting paid by Allah)"

Beautiful khutabah! JazakAllah khair shiek for the reminder:
“ Ehssan (excellence ) to others doesn’t decrease you, maybe the other side doesn’t deserve it
But YOu deserve it (the reward) from Allah swt
“ To feel like you have given too much to an ungrateful one (person) is Natural
But to feel like you have given it up for the sake of Allah (swt) the Most Grateful (Al-Shakooor ) is EmPowering …
Because your life is a journey between you and Allah and everyone that is placed in the path is part of that journey between you and Allah (swt) !”

Yes we can’t pay back the ehsan of parents but can’t also pay back their abuse. Has Allah ordained to be harsh, unkind and unloving, abusive to your kids. Treat them like trash and slaves with no rights. Make them feel nothing and make their life hell. Are the Quranic verses about such kind of parents which they also rely on to be free of any accountability. Sadly most of the scholars also preach only about it without addressing the other side of reality.
A child is at the very primary level vulnerable to the harm and abuse from his own parents. The outside world came latter. The harm abusive parents cause to their kids no one can cause and the effect is life lasting.
Thanks to some of the present day scholars who understand the importance and seriousness of children’s rights and talk about it.
To raise children is a great responsibility and not everyone is eligible for it. How Allah will not ask about the responsibility of human race when one has taken it. When Allah says treat each other well then how come it wouldn’t be for kids.
What you grow that shall you reap. And how we expect normal human beings raised in abusive environment.
Has Allah ordained to tolerate abuse and do nothing against it just be good and patient. And let the tyrant to become a monster. Not at all. Forgiveness is for mistakes not for repetitive intentional wrongdoings. That needs to take stand against and oppose it. The Prophet (PBUH)said, also help the tyrant. People asked how? The prophet replied by stopping him from doing injustice. SubhanAllah
May Allah guide us and make our ways easy for us. Ameen. God bless all.

If someone asks something from me and i know that person does not really need it or he or she can get it somewhere else. Should I refuse that person or give it to them as being a good muslim.
