It always amazes me how well in sync they are, If flea changes the bass line, Chad always comes in with another awesome drum beat, then John always has something great to go with it!
For those who want to know what effects is John using, I can tell you that he is using: - Line 6 FM4 (the obi-wah modeler) - Line 6 Delay Box (probably in the Tremolo mode) - Boss DS-2
John will always be my favorite guitar player!!!!! He should be a DJ in this video :) He has my vote!!!! Sad that he's gone :( I wanted to see him in the Chili Peppers so bad but I saw them with Josh and they killed it!!!! John Frusciante is my guitar hero forever!!!!
Yeaaah! I was there, 15 years old, had to wait 9 hours to see them! But it was worth it, they're genius. Love this band, sad Frusciante is gone.. Peace n Love from Holland.
flea brings out so much in john's playing. .he's always bringing in new movements to the music and then he gets to see where john takes it, which is always somewhere amazing.
From all of the mighty jams this is and forever will be my favorite. Everything is in complet order in this chaos. The drums...Flea's workout on the bass and the holy Jesus making math on that strat with a soul like no other can do. Damn this is good!
@MrEvilQuaker Get Boss CE-1 Chorus Ensemble, DS-1 Distortion, DS-2 Turbo Distortion, Electro-Harmonix English Muff'n fuzz, Holy Grail Reverb, Big Muff Pi fuzz, POG Polyphonic Octave Generator, Electric Mistress Flanger, DOD 680 Analog Delay, Moog MF-105 MuRF, MF-105B Bass MuRF, MF-101 Low-Pass Filter, interconnect them all, turn them all on, do some intense knob studying and hopefully you'll get that ginormous effect.
Damn one of the best jam... Dr Phd. Headmaster of all gutars end pedal boards in action. And what Flea and Chad made here was also incredible. I wish I could be there
red hot chili peppers are an awesome band john, flea, chad and anthony are so fucking talented too bad that john is out but its awesome that he keeps working in his solo albums C:
these guys are like zeppelin, the who, hendrix, and cream back in the day. glad rhcp are bringing back the art of the three-piece jam the right way. improv is the best
Yea that sounds all Moog to me; I think he's using the Murf for filter and the Ring Modulator for that square-wave effect. I hear him turn some reverb on about half way through but I don't think the delay modeler is seeing any action here.
That was sick, but the end jam here in Houston (wish there was video of it) went on for literally 20 minutes of mostly John screwing with his delay pedals and Klinghoffer coming out too for some extra feedback and shredding as well. Course I don't think there's ever been a bad Chilis jam.
@Lolest1 do you see him tweaking knobs or tweaking DISCS? - since DJ means DISC Jockey and it's not equal to electronic music producing. so he rather looks like a MUSICIAN who is not only a guitar player but as we heard in his Speed Dealer Moms project - also a very good electronic music producer.
If you pay close attention you can see Flea totally led this jam. Chad worked with him to create a strong rhythm and they let John do his thing.. Together they created an awesome jam for us. You can see their recipe for amazing improvised music and it works.
@aic9988 Me too man. Have you seen the "Federation Square Jam" where John, Josh, Flea and Chad just jam for like 25 min? Good Lord it is out of this world.
when it comes to improv, i think you can use technicality as a good start. That, and his albums are hugely influencial in jazz. He broke down a lot of doors, and made a lot of great music that was ALSO technical. He didn't sacrifice musicality for technicality, he had both in droves, which can be said for very few artists, whether jazz, rock, funk, classical, etc.
what exact pedals is john using in this ? my guess is, holy grail reverb, maybe big muff and 1 of his moogs anybody got a better idea of what hes using ? thanks
It always amazes me how well in sync they are, If flea changes the bass line, Chad always comes in with another awesome drum beat, then John always has something great to go with it!
Flea and Chad are a MACHINE in this thing.
JOHN IS BACK 15/12/2019 The day i said ok God thats all i asked you can rest now!
I would rest when i see this guy live.
@@lauragiurovich me too my brother, waiting for John to come to Brazil , hope this year.
For those who want to know what effects is John using, I can tell you that he is using:
- Line 6 FM4 (the obi-wah modeler)
- Line 6 Delay Box (probably in the Tremolo mode)
- Boss DS-2
john always whips out the line 6 delay modeler during these things. like a fuckin boss
John will always be my favorite guitar player!!!!! He should be a DJ in this video :) He has my vote!!!! Sad that he's gone :( I wanted to see him in the Chili Peppers so bad but I saw them with Josh and they killed it!!!! John Frusciante is my guitar hero forever!!!!
we've got another chance now
Yeaaah! I was there, 15 years old, had to wait 9 hours to see them! But it was worth it, they're genius. Love this band, sad Frusciante is gone..
Peace n Love from Holland.
he's back

From all of the mighty jams this is and forever will be my favorite. Everything is in complet order in this chaos. The drums...Flea's workout on the bass and the holy Jesus making math on that strat with a soul like no other can do. Damn this is good!

Yea that sounds all Moog to me; I think he's using the Murf for filter and the Ring Modulator for that square-wave effect. I hear him turn some reverb on about half way through but I don't think the delay modeler is seeing any action here.

@cheersforbeers807 wow, well that's mature. I wish all us RHCP fans had you to speak for us against anyone who doesn't like their music.
That was sick, but the end jam here in Houston (wish there was video of it) went on for literally 20 minutes of mostly John screwing with his delay pedals and Klinghoffer coming out too for some extra feedback and shredding as well.

amazing! inspiring!
couldn't they continue for another 10 min or so.?
flea is killin it

@RocketFistband that riff was in the album version too, hmmm
@ChadSmithFanFinn
someone said to me that it was in Lisbon, at rock in rio... but I don't know why anthony says "thank you pinkpop" ...
Yeah, didn't actuallt know that but thanks, and i got the chord now, it's a F sharp diminished 7 :)
The first little riff they play sounds like sweey leaf!
Anthony Kields: 1 000 000 $
Chad Smith: 2 000 000 $
John Frusciante: 3 000 000 $
Flea: 4 000 000 $
Red Hot Chili Peppers: Priceless
@borntoplay91
I think this was at Pinkpop festival at 0:38 he says "Thank You Pinkpop"
Sounds like that
