So glad to have found a video on this snippet of history. Growing up in the outdoors & learning about Teddy, Firestone, Abercrombie & seeing where it’s today is fascinating🏕️🏕️
The transformation was shocking to those of us who grew up hoping to be able to afford their gear, only to be faced with what it had turned into by the time we could afford it. Thanks for watching!
This was incredibly well done sir! Jam packed with detail.
Thanks! After about 20 hours of editing, that kind of thing is good to hear>
I like the change in camera angles....and my mind will always and forever be in the gutter
I love that tent, I would love to own one.
Thanks for watching! I never thought I would, then it popped up on Ebay.
Check out the current offerings at TENTSMITH. They have carried this model in the past.
I really enjoy your videos, always learn something.
Thanks for watching! Its very gratifying to know that folks learn something from these vids.
This Tent is amazing 👏
Haaa haa oops😂
I love the dangting.
Hey my friend are you able to meet it to the gathering in October 6th 7th and 8th at Geneva state forest al?
Likely not this year. Need to go visit the Grandkids. Sounds good, though--stuff like that is one of the reasons I'm building the Big Steel Tent. Thanks for watching, and keep me in mind for next time!
I presume that 'Cruiser' means 'timber cruiser.' The forestry industry employed a knowledgeable woodland surveyor to assess each of their tracts as to harvestable species to turn into lumber or wood pulp. Such a person would move around from a base cabin. He would need a place to sit inside and compile his notes.
Yah, that's probably the etymology of the word. The tent is light enough to be man portable on a portage and doesn't require carrying poles, so its well suited for that task. Thanks for watching!
@16:55 tarp design sheet
Thanks again for watching!

Heh. I know they had some spendy tents, that's for sure.
