I have the Nebo 2,000 SlydeKing and 2 5,000 DaVincis. The DaVincis differe in the barrel design. One is smooth, and the other, newer one, is checkered for a non slip grip. Both put out great light, both suck in focusing. Neither one could focus into a sharp spotlight. So they are not "throwers" but they provide a wide, even light so they are "flooders." They make great camping lights, illuminating everytbing close by, lighting up the tree line, casting a wide disperal of light if you need to poke you head out of your tent to see what is creeping about. (And hope your other hand is holding a .357 magnum). They can light up an entire living room in one take. And if you point the light upwards to the ceiling, the reflection can light up the entire room. I use that technique to walk to the kitchen to get a drink of water without stepping on any of my cats that enjoy lounging anywhere and everywhere.
