There’s something about driving along a long stretch of road in the middle of nowhere, and picking up Art Bell on the radio, knowing that whatever he’s talking about , it’s an experience you’re sharing with thousands of others around the world at the same time. I loved driving at night , with my wife and kids asleep, heading towards our camping trip in the sierras, and listening to Art Bell on a stretch of highway 395 or the 99. Pulling up to the gas station, and on a small radio, the station attendant was also listening. Being out under the stars on a hunting trip with the buddies, throwing back some beers around the camp fire, bull sh!ttng, and Art Bell in the background talking about Sasquatch. I still listen now to the podcast station, but it’s not the same as when thousands of others were also sharing the same experience. I miss that.
I miss this great man. Yet, very thankful to be able to go back and listen to him. There will never be another like him.....he was one of a kind. He is so missed.

My husband, sons and myself moved to a very southern state, and in order to gather our belongings, we would often take trips back to our home town located in Pennsylvania, and then drive back to the new state we were moving to. We would drive late at night to and from, because we wanted to get back to our new southern home. . It was a very long drive, one way was about 1200 miles. One night, we turned on the radio and listened to a radio show called, Coast to Coast, and it was so very interesting, the host was Art Bell! We never heard Coast to Coast before, and we loved it. The show topic was on Ghosts, so interesting hearing what real people had to call in and say to Art Bell. So interesting and we have learned so much! Anyhow, it helped make the all night long drive to and from so nice, and made it go by quickly! Today, we always turn on Coast to Coast, but we do miss Art Bell, he was the most interesting, almost every night he had the most interesting topics to talk about.

Recently reminiscing, I thought I'd scour UA-cam, to try and find the old UK shows I used to listen to, but I came across Art Bell instead. I'm hooked and forever grateful for finding this masterclass in late-night talk radio. Thanks Art, and you are sadly missed.
Saturday, January 27, 2024 while at work I had a pain in my chest and shoulder which terrifed me and I ended up with an ambulance ride and a surgery which I thank God. He gave me a little more time. Anyhoo, while in ICU that first night I couldn't sleep. Each time I would begin to drift off I would "jolt" awake... again... and again... all nite long. I figured out that I was "scared" to fall asleep because I subconciously-psychologically was associating it with dying I reckon, which the nurse verified from others in my situation. After transferring to a room, I thought of Mr. Bell so I began listening to him again. I had listened many years prior and remembered it was the most relaxing way i'd known to drift off while listening back then and once again that was the case. It calmed me and I felt safe... listening to him I always have, as I'm sure is the same with all of you. I miss you, Art. I thank you for getting me thru that terrible week and now about every nite I listen again... and before I know it I'm drifting off into slumberland. Art Bell was a true moldbreaker. One of the most magical night's of my life was working the night shift and listening to his first Richard Hoagland interview.
Over night truckers were the perfect audience for Art Bell. RIP.
Miss you, Art RIP
Very depressing to think about him not being with us anymore.😢
It doesn't feel real, does it? I'm 36 and started listening to him when I was around 14. Being a fan of the X-Files made this my favorite radio show. It was right up my alley! I listened to C2C nightly and I'd catch Dreamland too. I remember Arts Parts, the "E.T" burrito, and other humorous stuff. If you go to archive.org and put the website in or artbell.com in, you can revisit the website as it was all those years ago.
Miss Art. I use to work graveyard and would listen to the whole show. It really helped pass the time on those long nights. Really Miss his energy.
Alot of us who served in the Military listened to Art Bell. You are missed by us Veterans as well.
I still fall asleep every night hearing Arts comforting voice.. I listen to old shows on here
Me too.
Oh my soulllll I love
• Art (and the like)
• night
• open road
You've captured one of my favorite experiences in life. Nostalgic & timeless
Driving at night and listening to the radio is a personal favorite.
This is VERY nostalgic!
The older I’ve gotten and traveling the southern states for work. I find myself ready to hit the road when I’ve been home a few days. Something about being on the road late and listening to personalities like art bell passes the time and is mind opening. The road is where I find peace and think.
I live n Alabama but when I drive in middle of nite listening to AB I imagine in in the desert 🤘. I miss tha mid 90’s
J wish my husband was still alive for this episode bc this is how he found Art, driving coast to coast. He turned me into an instant fan when we met, I said who's Art Bell? He just smiled & nodded, said "you'll see" lol
As a Truck Driver I always love to drive at night listening to Art Bell nothing else better to do in the world!! I would do it for free. Lol
Im i. Dublin, Ireland and i discovered Art about. 15 years ago and i was immediately HOOKED... LOVED LISTENING EVERY NIGHT. M
its great man!
Actually love this! I used to go driving from 1997 and on, late night drives in the deserts of New Mexico, and would listen to Art Live often getting home at dawn, to the displeasure of my parents, before I was 18 lol. But brought back some memories!
In high school in the late 90s and early 2000s I spent countless nights listening art on coast to coast in Dreamland on Sundays. So many days I went to school never sleeping a wink cuz of Art. I still listen to him very very often like every day when I'm working. You should check out Art Bell archives. Com
I did the same but on the east coast in the late 80's early 90's would drive from Philly to NYC around the 5 boroughs and back home all the time.
6:00:21 *Uninterrupted freeway drive from Oceanside,CA to Los Angeles,CA on I-5 Interstate* ( Art Bell ep. Mad Man Marcum update )
It's amazing to think , now AB knows all the answers.
I hope he is happy I hope we all can find the right answer after we leave this world i m afraid of not knowing
Your comment really made me smile. Hope this comment finds you well, 1 year later.
Seems like youthful wishful thinking to me. Where did he go that he knows anything ? I don't know, but it most likely is just the big sleep, ya know ?
@@richardgo9976 --you have to read about DMT my friend. Its a chemical compound that gets released into our system that makes us dream. It can be found in all sorts of places like plants and also inside of us. It seems When we die massive quantities get dumped into our brain. The last time i smoked DMT i had this fantastic voyage inside my head basically lol i saw things that cannot be properly explained. A whole universe. People that smoke DMT all have similar experiences. This will sound insane but There are intelligent beings there and they love you 😝❤️. Its hard to explain. Time has no meaning there but if i had to put a number on it id say it felt like years or maybe thousands of years lol but Nope i was only out for minutes. My point is that i have no idea what will happen when we die. I dont believe in heaven in a tradtional sense. But i know it will be fantastic.
This ends endless nights of boredom, wish u had more many thanks. I wish i heard of this guy when he had a live show. This guy is great.
He was amazing!
There are lots of his shows here on UA-cam
Art Bell the undisputed King of late night talk radio as far as I'm concerned. He'll live on in a lot of hearts. Thanks for sharing these long ones
Art Bell is a legend, Noory is ruining coast to coast
It is long past ruined! Now its just a marketing scheme for that ridiculous "dr" they have on like once a month.
Love this! This is exactly how I remember listening to Art Bell back in the day. At night, dark, on the road. Only difference is the Heavy AM static.
I wish :)
I started listening to Art Bell back in '94. The king of late night weird radio. I listened to him all through college.
Night driving and Art Bell is one of lifes greatest pleasures
pleasured by men?
Thank you for the best twelve hours on UA-cam.
hahahaha nice
Art Bell hit a perfect tone for a late night host. When his programs were available as mp3 downloads it was a game changer. You could go to sleep listening to Big Foot stories and finish listening on your patio with a beverage in your hand after work the next evening. He has influenced many, but he has never been matched.
Makes me sad, I used to listen to Art with my parents. I want to go back to the 90s
You're a genius to think of this! Perfect everything.
I used to drive a truck, and listening to Art Bell was the best way to get thru a long night of driving......
This video brings back so many wonderful memories of youth. All the best to everyone. Be free. Take care of one another. Awaken the naive.
Brings back memories of driving across country thru the night… no Satellite-radio back then
so having to change radio dial as stations signals got weaker and stronger as the miles passed
back in 1998-2005 I did some epic road trips like Minneapolis to RVA in 20 hrs. No pills , two hours of sleep .
The discussion of Bob Dole presidential bid was so interesting in light of todays republicians. The mention of John Wayne Bobbitt was priceless. I miss Art Bell, I miss civility , I miss decency .
Amen to that, Brother 🙏
I hear ya, the open communism of the democrat party was just beginning with bill clinton back in them days. Art saw it and couldn't stand him and rightly so.
You are not alone pal
Missin' Art. Unfortunately, the massive cocktail of opioids & benzos he was ingesting on a daily basis...at his advanced age...was a recipe for disaster...an accidental overdose...as was determined by the coroner. Plus his COPD brought on (by his own admission) by smoking up to four packs of cigarettes per day since his teens. It's truly amazing he lived as long as he did. R.I.P., Art Bell...(1945 - 2018)
i listened to art from
the kingdom of nye
from nearly the beginning
i especially liked the "old days"
no guest except the live callers.
No screener
"Art would play with new or ignorant ppl"
"West of the Rockies you're on the air"
caller "hello, who is this?"
art "who are you calling?"
caller "I'd like to speak with Art Bell"
Art "you have him"
caller "ok, can you tell him ..."
Art "Hello caller you're on the air!"
caller "Yes art ... blah blah "
art "what's your name and where are you calling from"
near 2:47 Appology for Cloning Clinton in 50 years
What is a shame is the program just doesn't have the same experience without Art.
A terrible loss and every night Iam out He missed again.
Thanks Art for the memories.
Stumbled across this randomly. RIP sir, you sure have left a mark on alot of people's lives.
RIP Art from the Middle East..my mom put me on him back when I was in high school (we're both believers and somewhat sensitive)
thanks SO much.. i leave this on for the cats when i go out to work... and then later, its my sleeping pill haha! cheers!
I hope you don't play the same episode at night as in the day.
The cats will be upset 😊😊
I first heard Art Bell on a midnight road trip to western minnesota and was completely hooked!!! Circa 1993...?
Strike that off your bucket list!! I love AB he will be solely missed. I listened to George and Art many nights. Like many I went through some trying times and his voice was music to the ears to say the least. May God bless you Art!!
Mentioning George and Art Bell in the same sentence goes to show how little you knew of Art. Art was a pioneer and George is a middle of the road average talk show host without an original thought who tows the company line. I stopped listening when he started his snake oil infomercials and NewsMax endorsements years ago.
@@michaelgrabianowski6567 You are a tool....who the fk did Noorey learn from. No two people are the same .....get a life chief !!!
@@michaelgrabianowski6567 agreed. G.N. is mediocre at best. I cannot stomach him. I wish Art could contact us and tell us of the other side. He has all the answers now. We miss you, Art.
George Norey is mainly into health and enema's. Art Bell was the real deal! Area 51, UFO's. Strange creatures, ghosts, big foot, etc. There's never been anyone like him.
Art Bell was one ☝️ of a kind and I do not think anyone can ever replace a top notch radio anchor like Art Bell. May you Rest In Peace Art Bell you were loved by so many and touched the hearts 💕 of us all. God Bless your soul dear friend.
This is a brilliant idea! I miss those nights. I remember many of these original broadcasts. Found Art in the summer of 95'.
Started listening about the same time...just 13-14 years old!
I didn't find AB till 2001. I missed a lot!!
@@ednaking956 Crazy, but I didn't discover Art til 2013/14 ish. And it wasn't even through his radio show, it was a TV show about weird & strange things on Discovery and Art done the voiceover for it. I think it was called Dark Matter. Anyways, soon after I discovered he done radio and realised what a true American legend he truly is. By that time he was on and off the air quite erratically, so I never really got the best of him.
Plus I was having trouble trying to get a live American radio feed here in Scotland 😂
But his old shows make me feel so much better - plus all the comments from people who appreciate his life's work. Reading them is just magical. Rest easy, Mr Bell. Roswells 👽
I used to listen to Art Bell on my hour long drive home every night after second shift. Made the drive a whole lot nicer.
Oh my gosh I have not heard Art Bells voice in so long and used to love that show. Wow that sure brings back memories. 1997!
Loads of art bell uploads on utube. 🇬🇧👍
Some parts with no audio but I think this is brilliant posting with the drive filmed, just awesome
I know when listening to this. It makes me freaked out. I would stay,up,until,6 am,just to go to sleep.
Forget Orson wells.
His voice will travel,forever.
In the mid 90s early 2000s, I worked a couple overnights a week driving a taxi as a second, part time job. I generally worked from 9pm to 5am. Listening to this show was great; when no passenges, Art kept me company; with passenges, Art gave us something to talk about and the passengers were alwats in a better mood, which usually equated to better tips!!
C2C isn’t the same anymore since Noory took the reins. I may find one show a week I can tolerate.
Art was one of a kind , George is a liberal asshole .
Art was far more intelligent and educated than George
My parents used to listen to coast to coast when we would go on road trips. This video is amazing. Thank you
Oh i love this. The road trip and Art’s voice.
Must of been great trucking through the night listening to the great Art Bell at your side keeping you company I bet that journey seemed like ten mins with Art besides ya , god bless the king deeply missed x👽🌒❤️
I used to have to drive back and forth between central Florida and Rochester New York every 6 weeks for about 2 years because I don't fly. I have done this so many times with Art Bell to keep me company . Just last year I did a 22 hour marathon ride to central Maine with Art Bell talking the whole way . I wish he were still here .
I herd this on my way to Florida from Texas ! It was amazing great video
i used to work at a restaraunt years ago and would get off work late at night and always listened to coast to coast on the way home. this takes me back
Several years ago a Guy called in and mentioned an unusual Half-Sleep experience he had which was Identical to one I had. Which involved a Mummy and a little Monkey. There’s more details. I wish I could contact him because the Lines were very busy when I tried to call in to the Show
Did you spank the monkey 🙊 😊
I have always loved driving at night while listening to talk radio and, in particular, Art Bell.
AWESOME video!!!
My Uncle who was Jewish, remember Jewish people don't consider pork Kosher, had a pork valve to replace a valve in his heart and lived a long while afterwards. He never exhibited the characteristics of a pig.
I've spent many a late night listening to Art Bell on the radio. I always enjoyed every minute!
Gotta do one, driving thru the Desert at Night. THAT...is the best place, to listen to Art Bell. Still, this is great! thank you!
drummerfella 55 yep especially ghost to ghost
That would be 😩👌
I did this listening to Ghost to Ghost, had to turn it off and go into a local Barnes and Noble cause it spooked me out
I’ve made many trips while listening to Art. This takes me back. Well done.
Art was and is and always will be a fantastic man. His legacy lives on through our collective intellectual curiosity about this strange universe we currently dwell in.
He gave us comfort by allowing us to be explorers with him on his travels.
Side note.... if you’re into Art, you might like Terence McKenna, if you’re not already familiar with him.
Peace friends
Used to work graveyards as a cop. Used to scare myself listening to Art in bad hoods waiting for bad events. Bad events happened nightly
Sound starts 40.40 min in. Andy England 🇬🇧❤️👍
@andrew daley thank you! 👍👍🙂
I can recall driving nights several times listening to art. In fact once drive from Vegas to Reno on a dark stretch of road creeped us out. What fun especially driving near Area 51.
Art Bell got me through Medical School in Dallas,TX in the mid- 90's. He was my nighttime background listen while studying my butt off every night. Thanks Art and 🙏 RIP..
Ace road journey and Art Bell ....night time heaven... thank you 📈🙏🏼
I'm in the UK, in my early 40s, and was a school kid during the golden era of late night talk radio.
I'd stay up as a teen til the early hours, intrigued at shows meant for mature listeners .
Recently reminiscing, I thought I'd scour UA-cam, to try and find the old UK shows I used to listen to, but I came across Art Bell instead.
I'm hooked and forever grateful for finding this masterclass in late-night talk radio.
Thanks Art, and you are sadly missed.
Dinky doo ?
I remember fondly Art Bells show. Radio active one that i am.Thanks for these memories
6 years ago I was listening to Art Bell while driving from Florida I felt like it was me on this video LOL
Oh where did you drive too? I left Florida in 2014
I love falling asleep to Art Bell.
Nothing quite like driving across the highway with the stars glowing in the night sky above while listening to Coast To Coast AM.
A true friend you had who you never got to meet in person. 😊
I hope you're OK 👌 😊
Glad your ok
" suggested video" thanks algorithm...lol. Long time Art Bell listener. Miss him a great deal. He left a void nobody can fill.
I miss driving to Portland everyday listening to AB and GN. Stay safe night drivers!
