I grew up poor in rural Texas in the 90s. We didn't have cable, internet, or phones. But I found art on the radio. As a kid who was mentally trying to escape the humdrum reality of the trailer park in the country, Arts shows took me to a special place, and they still do.
Love this comment. I grew up in Indiana and we were extremely poor. I remember a constant search for something interesting and new to experience. Kids today do not understand how good they have it in that department. Instant everything nearly.
Omg ! I discovered him in 2020 during the pandemic He gave me peace of mind with his calm interesting pod cast They are reruns but that’s good enough I love to listen to those cool stories! ❤
@@marygarza1596 He was a calming gentleman. And I love how he goes into the kind of topics without judgement and laughing at what most people would. You would probably like the ones where he talks to an area 51 employee, and the one where a guy tries to fly his plane into area 51 and gets shot down!
Plus he remained an innovator. Before it was wall to wall podcasts, he brought his show back online, and was trying to build a large network on these topics with other hosts in addition to his show. Dark Matter. You could listen to any show free live or pay $5 a month for unlimited access to the library. I happily paid my 5bux after a couple weeks of sleepless nights lol. Then sadly there was some weirdness followed by his health declining. They kept it going for awhile, with a few hosts, but without Art as the anchor, it wasn't the same. BUT he was ahead of his time yet again, and while he was on, those shows were high quality. Not to mention had the wonderful Crystal Gayle opening and closing his show with her fab Midnight in the Desert
My uncle introduced me to art back in the 1990s and I stayed up late every night to listen to his show until the mid 2010s. I still blame my life long insomnia on old Art.
I was introduced to art this early 2024, I saw his famous area 51 caller. then pretty much love listening to this many nights. he unfortunately died many years ago. no more new shows made by art.
I started listening to Art in the mid 90's...I can't tell you the number of nights I lost sleep just glued to the radio. Art Bell was the king of talk radio.
Art bell is one of the greatest radio host I’ve listened to, and being born 1999 there’s not many I’ve heard, but from the handful I have art had the best conversations during those times
Thankyou Shaky ! You should take a ' bow ' for your great , compelling episodes and bringing Art Bell back to ' life ' I'm sure he appreciates you ! Great job in bringing back the ' oldies ' ...... Some of the 90's episodes ring ' true ' to this day.
I used to listen to Art Bell Show back in early 90's. I couldn't stay up all night to listen to the show on the radio. One day I had a great idea, I used VCR to record football game (or whatever visually interesting) on the TV and fed the audio RCA from the AM radio line out at same time. Tape will hold 6hrs in EP mode. That worked out great and created large collection of Art Bell Shows on the VCR tapes to listen to whenever I wanted.
These shows of Art Bell are still so amazing RIP our voicly frind your missed and also RIP John Leer you were an amazing figure and had a immeasurable wealth of knowlege we so need
This is one of my favorite Art Bell episodes. Jim Sparks’ experiences are very detailed, interesting and informative. He wrote a book about his experiences called The Keepers- a must read!
I will check it out , when he explained the symbols used to communicate with very cool ...reminds me of the 2016 movie Arrival...kind of crazy they came up with the same system for the alien in the movie
I love these classic Art Bell episodes. I was a bit too young at the time. But now I’m fully in it. It’s frightening how many things have become true from his guests knowings from as far back as the 90’s. The truths are coming to the forefront and it’s about time
Asking for evidence from the military black budget is not going to happen. Shit $4.6 trillion was missing from our budget last year and we can’t get evidence of where that went. Whether military or aliens, all- 99% evidence gets wiped from your conscious. It will take a past life regression to go through this experience again. Then that question can be asked again. 10 years ago we could of asked that same question about UFO’s, now we know and all the former military, contactees and abductees don’t sound so crazy. And the ones who did speak out just happened to be “suicided”. Phil Schneider
Man I respect the hell out of your attempt to reason with someone who's so arrogantly already made up their mind. And your right, many conspiracies of the past have come to the forefront. Ufos being a great example, with how we've gone from swamp gas and mass hallucinations to pentagon releases and biologics.

I started listening to Art working 2nd shift in a paint shop. I was the only one in the building and put a radio in a plastic bag to keep the paint off of it and listen from midnight till 1 or 2am depending on the work. Then i had another hour on the drive home. Clean up and go to sleep for the last hour. One of the EVP shows really creeped me out. I was an addict after that.
Didn’t believe any of his content on his radio show but it was still damned entertaining!! Always went to sleep listening to Art and it drove my wife crazy!!
Hi Jim! I’m one of your biggest fans since I’ve had my own encounters. I’ve read your book many times (The Keepers). I think “they” wanted me to be a spokesperson like you, Whitley Streiber, Travis Walten, etc. , but I ended up transmitting “them” through art and other means. Anyway, hi! 👋

Really? All those stories and they led to … nothing! And you think he’s credible? No evidence. No photos, nothing. Just book sales. I would like to believe him but he gloats a lot.
I recently listened to an old Art Bell broadcast and heard a purpoted "time traveler" tell Art he was much more important in the future, and he was honored to talk to him. This sounds crazy, but it's actually becoming much less crazy as time marches on and the crazy things are being validated as real.
I use to work on Castle Air Force base at Atwater Ca. At the command center, for Hoffman Security as an Alarm Agent , I always listened to Art Bell on 1390 am radio, I use to email him,we had several conversations about stuff.
As long as he remains in our memories and his words affect us and comfort us, the echoes of his presence carries on his essence. He's still here in a very real way.
Art Bell was to nighttime radio as Jonny Carson was to the evening talk shows. Both are missed and neither have been replaced with anything of quality like they put out.
