    You missed that Kasparov stopped playing the KID just a few years prior due to Kramnik dismantling it with the Bayonet attack. A testament to how strong Kramnik was at preparation to neuter two of Kasparov’s favorite openings with both white and black.

    Hikaru initially drew me to the chess community. But Levy is why I stayed over the past 6 months.
    He is a down to Earth human-being, humorous, and frankly a challenge to others pushing run-of-the-mill videos in the chess community.
    He addresses it from a level of depth that the beginner player can quickly pick up on and reference, due to a high-level of rapport and people skills.
    And I always catch myself grinning at his brand of exaggerated and recurring comedic themes (even occasionally a "hahahaha", etc.)
    Love ya man, thanks for helping me get through the past year, I went back to college! I only wished I would have been here and taking chess up sooner.

    Love the video, you could literally just keep posting videos of old chess tournaments and explaining them and I'd keep watching. Only thing I wish you did in these videos, just to help those of us who are new, is just have pictures of the two players. I always like to know who you are talking about, and videos/pictures are helpful in this

    great content Levy. Gary's stubbornness on Berlin Defense has cost him the match.

    • @billj4525
      @billj4525 Рік тому +2

      Big time. Many said his ego cost him this. Even Gary admitted that was one of his weaknesses, and he learned that the hard way. He did not know enough about the Berlin yet still kept trying to beat it, mostly over the board, while Kramnik had done extensive analysis. Gary was so dominating and above everyone else by so much in 2000 that he thought he could get away with anything. Kramnik playing AMAZING in this match, and had some of the best prep ever, and playing the best chess he ever did. Very shocking match, but it happened.

    Especially when you have a slight material advantage of being up by two or three pawns against your opponent and you both have opposite coloured bishops as well.
