I’ve been doing this for about 2 years. I keep my force trolling motor down and can view my scope from the seat while turning the force trolling motor with the remote. I initially did it when I got stuck in some shallow water and was trying to find a deep path out. On the river you will see metal transducer poles hanging off the front of barges. They are doing the same thing with traditional sonar
Saw your truck and trailer at the ramp the other night and you were the last to get off the lake. It was dark and you were still out there on the water. Thats why you won AOY, because your hard work payed off. Keep it up Kyle.
I can think of a few places that would be useful to avoid idling over stumps when you're in thick timber, to say nothing of scanning areas while on the move. I want one.
Scoping is alot of fun ! I was listen to the st.clair event at work over the summer and after hearing there she is.. bite my bait and then drag just rippin.. i legit just stoped working and purchased licescope and probably one of the best tools ive ever put on my boat to help me catch more fish! Boy i like that. I've got livescope but dont like using it on the front because im a power fisherman and dont like scoping bass, but love crappie. I bought the pole system that ott pushes, cant think of it off hand something zilla, but i could put it like that and hammer crappie and find bait and brush while side scanning ❤
Invaluable Kyle, no matter how well you know your home lake and where they are when you can't find them, they can't hide from that technology. Wouldn't work too well for me as I have to get two to three thousand casts in per day even though I'm hauling water most of the time. Thanks Kyle for another great video.

I honestly can’t help but want one to fill my deep freeze with crappie. That’s what a ton of dudes do. Id bet good money that you filet a few out yourself.

Striper are 1 of if not the only freshwater game fish that must keep swimming to use the gills. All other have gills that can pull water but stipers don't

I think it’s very cool and a unique idea, but I’m not sure how practical it would be throughout a tournament day. Definitely looks legit for crappie fishing or fishing slowly. Maybe would be best to use during practice then take it off during tournaments. I know it would see some at small local pond on hwy 48 right now!

I dont understand how anyone can say this isnt fun. Im not even doing the fishing and it looks fun. As for the people that say the fish just jump in the boat once you get thats crap. I have it and actually caught less fish bc im always chasing the fish on the screen. Trust there is a huge learning curve with this technology.
Cool video and very informative. It’s not unfair for the fish. As you stated, it’s a different skill the angler has to learn for interpreting the sonar and presenting the lure. Not everyone who can afford the tech can catch the fish.

My opinion is we just ride around and look for fish schools then you hen peck em till they scattered out your bird dogging not fishing. This is more like hunting than fishing but you still have to fish to get them to bite. Different sport altogether
Do you ever have issues lining up your casts when you’re trying to target fish 80+ feet out? I can pretty much cast on top of fish that are within 50 feet but once they start getting out further I feel like my casts are always slightly out of the cone angle of the fish I’m looking at so once I readjust to see my bait the fish are gone
Sometimes yes. I’m super particular to make sure my stuff is super straight and also I use the motorguide and it has an arrow that’s always exact and that helps a ton

Its absolutely unfortunate to say the least where tournament bass fishing is heading with ffs and new developments. I understand that to be truly competitive with AOY and classic births you have to join the crowd and use it but when does it get to the point where enough is enough. Your a good enough strictly shallow angler you would be up there with the likes of John Cox if you chose not to use it. At the same time i can tell how competitive you are and that is probably why you havent chosen to push back against it. To each their own... good luck!

The reason I said that goes back to 70's when there was a migration from SE Asia to northern California, Shasta Lakes great fish population dropped considerably in five years,that's using live bait,fish didn't have a chance to grow,I think tech is here to stay,it's going to get cheaper,part of the evolution.
NOT Boring! The fish have evolved and so must the anglers. It is unfortunate that the cost of the new electronics has created a division in fisherman. There are those who can afford it and those who can’t. Just like $100;000 dollar bass boats, it’s a long way from the 12 foot Jon boat I learned to fish in, but that doesn’t make the expensive bass boats bad, just unaffordable for most of us.
Wait till AI is integrated. It'll tell you species, gender, weight, and what kind of bait to use. It'll be so boring. Already, I can't even watch it live.

Even being realistically competitive at the club level is out because of the members who CAN afford it will dominate. Making them better at using modern electronics, again creating TWO types of anglers. Those who understand ecosystems and use that knowledge to pattern bass, and those who simply idle around and “shine” that spotlight. This is why it has become a sport ONLY for the ones with fatter wallets. Either outlaw it from tournament fishing, or SEPARATE it to CONTINUE to give club and local level anglers opportunities to move up. A BASS Open and the entry for it is out of reach for many, and this is no accident! The electronics companies pressured the directors to keep steep entries, and to ensure their products would be used in every single win!
I’m just so sick of never ending technology in bass fishing enough is enough let’s keep it fishing the ways it’s meant to be not this modern high tech sport becoming video game like.
I hope the Game and Freshwater Commission have started restocking the lakes to keep up with what’s going to happen

Chasing Hybirds, stripes & crappie blast with Livescope. They are hard to keep up with. Was at West PT yesterday.

I change it all the time but I know I have my color gain in the mid 60s currently and regular gain at 70-72

The reason I said that goes back to 70's when there was a migration from SE Asia to northern California, Shasta Lakes great fish population dropped considerably in five years,that's using live bait,fish didn't have a chance to grow,I think tech is here to stay,it's going to get cheaper,part of the evolution.

NOT Boring! The fish have evolved and so must the anglers. It is unfortunate that the cost of the new electronics has created a division in fisherman. There are those who can afford it and those who can’t. Just like $100;000 dollar bass boats, it’s a long way from the 12 foot Jon boat I learned to fish in, but that doesn’t make the expensive bass boats bad, just unaffordable for most of us.
Wait till AI is integrated. It'll tell you species, gender, weight, and what kind of bait to use. It'll be so boring. Already, I can't even watch it live.
@@Ray-z8rhence, being able to be competitive and work up through the ranks is also impossible. Even being realistically competitive at the club level is out because of the members who CAN afford it will dominate. Making them better at using modern electronics, again creating TWO types of anglers. Those who understand ecosystems and use that knowledge to pattern bass, and those who simply idle around and “shine” that spotlight. This is why it has become a sport ONLY for the ones with fatter wallets. Either outlaw it from tournament fishing, or SEPARATE it to CONTINUE to give club and local level anglers opportunities to move up. A BASS Open and the entry for it is out of reach for many, and this is no accident! The electronics companies pressured the directors to keep steep entries, and to ensure their products would be used in every single win!
