That is very cruel. The very reason people don't say they're pregnant early, is that you can have a miscarriage. Then they have to announce it. And instead of grieving in private. They have it known. It's cruel and unneccesery.

Honestly the worst thing she’s ever done is when she tried making Mariah Carrey drink champagne to find out if she was pregnant even though she hadn’t even gone through the first trimester yet and then a week after she had a miscarriage like just imagine the pain Mariah went through and that she had to tell the world she had a miscarriage like she could’ve kept it a secret but Ellen basically made her tell everyone she was pregnant at the time before her first trimester ended like it was so cruel of her to do that

My mom had two miscarriages in her life which is why she never liked when people announced pregnancies early out of fear of them going through the trauma she went through. The sheer pain of seeing your mon cry when the fetus ends up dying is horrible, now imagine how having to deal with social media and a HUGE platform must feel like, like god that'd be absolutely horrible.
@Maria Isabelle Villacorte it's a mother losing her child. it may not have been born yet, but mothers generally form a connection with their children as soon as they become pregnant (if they plan on keeping it obv). to go through the pain of losing a child is hard enough, but she had go through it and also have her business in the public when it couldve been avoided.

You blame yourself even when there is zero blame anywhere. You bleed, you are in lain, you may need surgery... You lose a child and a future in those moments.
I would hate if someone did that to my aunt my aunt had a miscarriage when I was a kid and she was rekt and so sad
I had no idea she did that. That’s horrible. Telling my loved ones I was miscarrying was one of the hardest things I’ve had to do, I can’t imagine having to tell the whole world.

That one clip of her getting angry at the translator translating real time a bit slowly...and than not even bothering to hear the kid’s answer. I hated it. Not to mention when she called psy on her show to show “his -funny trendy dance” without even introducing him, hes so big in korea and had to introduce himself.

It was the trying to force potentially pregnant Marah Carey to drink so Ellen would have "the scoop" Mariah had a miscarriage within a few weeks later she hadn't wanted to talk about it & had it covered and agreed to by Ellen. Then Ellen brought out champagne anyways. No im not saying Ellen caused the miscarriage, i don't like the position she put Mariah. Thats what convinced me yrs ago.
Also, when SuperM and BTS came to her show, she was making them so uncomfortable with questions like “are you dating”, “have you hooked up with a fan”, when it takes one literal google search to know that idols aren’t allowed to date, and if they do, they keep it a secret because there are many crazy stupid fans that cannot differentiate an artist’s private and public life. Also, when SuperM literally donated like a million dollars to her foundation, she literally received with this face 🙂, and didn’t even look thankful :/

the interview with a kid that didn't speak english and had a translator hurt and disgusted me so much, if you didn't see it she asked a question and while the translator was saying it to the kid she said "what are you asking it's just one question oh my god" and then when the kid started answering it she interrupted him and said something like "okay nothing it doesn't matter"

@@montxualsina9812 I speak mandarin and she was asking the right question, and in her defence, the grammatical rules of English and Mandarin are fairly difficult to translate so that's probably why she was taking a bit longer. If Ellen had waited a few more seconds to let her finish, the question would've been translated but instead she doesn't understand that other languages may have different grammatical rules and therefore take longer to translate

I don't even feel like the statement "I'm sorry if I offended you" is that problematic, IF it's followed up with something along the lines of "now that I know, I'll take care to avoid actions like that, and think more of others when I act." I think that first bit is so problematic because it's just honest enough, I.e. "I'm sorry you're upset [because it's now hurting me]," then it leaves it open enough that whoever said it can pretend the "I'm going to try and not do it again" is implied, when at this point, it's easier to believe you said that because you plan to do the thing again.

it's what ive been saying for a while: saying "if i offended" rather than "that i offended" is distancing yourself from the situation. whether its bc you dont truly believe youve done something wrong or you dont want to admit youve done something wrong, it's still putting a barrier between you and your actions.
