The funny thing here is that I felt completely prepared for your "list the seven sins of memory" question, because I previously put it into my deck of anki questions to test myself. So it did indeed work better than to only passively listen to your videos. Also: I love the descenders of your y's and g's. Very aesthetically pleasing. You have beautiful handwriting - especially for a man ;)
Great to hear that, Anki can be very useful this kind of recall. I generally find my handwriting to be terrible on paper (being left-handed forces you to push the pen across the page rather than smoothly pull it) but writing on a smooth surface like a board or tablet makes a big difference and I can write much more clearly.
@@PsychExamReview I know the struggle. I am left-handed myself. Doomed to smear. Your tablet writing is definitely satisfying to watch though. Such elegant flow. I also think it's rare to see educational UA-camrs use true handwritten notes for videos. It's more common to see the power point style video with typed text. There is something very trust-inducing and almost ASMR-ish about your approach. I love it.
@@LykkeNygaardJ Glad to hear that, I prefer writing as I explain, just as I would in a classroom, rather than using slides or powerpoint (which I avoid in class too). For a while I pre-wrote all the text for these videos but then decided that caused me to speak too quickly so I switched back to writing as I speak to help with pacing.
@@PsychExamReview I noticed that, but I get the need to experiment. You never know what will work best for you until you try it. But yes, I love seeing you write it out. Not just because it's satisfying, but also because it gives me more time process it. How do your physical-classroom students react to your decision to write things out the old-school way? It must be rare to see - even more so when the Professor is young like you.
