I didn't think of the word doctor, however I remembered all the words except "exam". That I forgot that exact word might be random and have nothing to do with this, but one thing I found interesting is that "exam" is the one word out of the ones you mentioned that doesn't fit the theme in Danish. In Danish, an eksamen (exam) is only a test in school. An exam in a health context is called undersøgelse. Whenever I hear the word exam it activates a mental image of a school context - even when I know it's not that context. I just can't help but picture desks lined up in rows, ready to use for written exams.
If I am more likely to (think I) remember the word "doctor" because it fits the theme, is it possible that I am more likely to forget "exam" because it doesn't fit the theme (for my Danish brain)?

That's interesting to note about Danish and so it must have seemed like a strange word to include. I'm not sure of exact research on this but I would guess that a random word unrelated to the rest of the list would be more difficult to recall after some time has passed. You might recall that there was an unrelated word but since it wouldn't be connected to the others it would probably be harder to recall (especially if this were done with multiple themed lists, each with one random word).

Hey, thanks for your info and the background videos and those fun games/examples you provide!
Personally I had all the words in the right order, with emphasis on the last one. I thought about the last word some time, since I didn't get why you had a random word like gown in there. I have no idea why one should go to the hospital in a gown, so in my mind I saw nurses dancing around with long impractical gowns in all kinds of pastel colours, high heels and all... 😆 (fun retrieval cue...) I still wonder why gown is in the sequence. Exam was also a strange one for me, because we use 'examen' in Dutch for a school exam, and the health context exam is 'onderzoek' in Dutch (sort of the same like in Danish 😉), but I knew what it's used for in English. So exam and gown don't fit in the theme in Dutch.
But I didn't think of doctor, since you used physician so I probably blocked doctor out.
Take care and keep up the good work~!

Interesting point about language and context for some of the words like exam. In the US we use "hospital gown" for the garment patients wear when admitted, though the image of nurses in evening gowns is certainly a strange one!

@@PsychExamReview You mean the long dress like things they wear in film hospitals, are for real... Funny pyjamas you have :D
We wear our t-shirts, cloths, pyjamas and bathrobe (h'm, robe sounds evening gown-ish too...) when appropriate.
Something dawned on me: you don't all have those gowns for pyjamas, right...? Don't tell me the hospitals provides those!
I like the dancing nurses better 😅

@@Freakontheway Haha, we only wear them in the hospital, not as pyjamas, I think it's partly to help staff identify patients

      @@PsychExamReview 😅 Fair enough.
Now I will not forget that 'gown' has it's own place in several themes, including the ones involving doctors! Thanks.
Although I will probably for ever keep those lovely nurses in the back of my head... male nurses too... in pink and such 😂
      Psychology is a fun subject!
