    "Start with the lightest colors first." I learned that lesson the hard way last weekend when I drew and then painted a field of sunflowers and started with green instead of yellow! NOW I understand what "value" means! ;-)

    You said something which really helped me - to consider the feel of the place rather than the actual physical reproduction. I've never enjoyed sketching because I always try to be 'accurate'. Thank you.

    Oh my gosh!! I haven't seen an A&W in years! Since like the 80s when I was young! That was in New Jersey, I don't think it's there any more.
    Ps-i bought the Koi watercolor 12 color kit because I think you said they are good. I've been trying to sketch my day... but I put to dark of colors in to early, or something. But when it dries it looks diffrent-i think that's where I'm going wrong. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR VIDEOS!

      Ohh really! We have A&Ws everywhere in Canada, at airports, metro stations, malls, etc.
      Good to know you got the Koi watercolors. Yes, 12 colors is great to start with- we don't need many colors to make beautiful art. It's a good idea to start with the lightest color washes first before adding the darker ones. Have fun!

    Those mountains are unreal to me. I live on the east coast of the USA. We have nothing that looks like this!

    still wandering around your channel, and I really enjoy it.. your art making process is very inspiring.. my hobby with sketching/ watercolor is on and off, starting on 2020... but now I decide to try daily sketching again... finding/choosing well-suited drawing kit for me, is a journey too... Thank you for all the inspiration ^^

    I just came across your work on instagram. Very impressive. I am wondering- do the workers/management of the cafes ever show an interest in your painting of their food?

    • @BeckyCao
      @BeckyCao  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you. ☺️ Most of the time, the workers are very busy serving and they rarely notice me sketching. Over the past two months, I've only had a group of baristas coming over when I finished a sketch in their cafe. Most of the time, people just quietly pass by.

    Hi Becky, You have inspired me so much. Always encouraging to be brave and have a go! Thank you, thank you. On another note, I always wonder how you keep your filming so straight with your drawing book. What equipment do you use, ie. clams and camera? Always fascinated with modern stuff, lol

    • @BeckyCao
      @BeckyCao  2 роки тому +1

      Thank you, Jenny, for your appreciation! To film, I use a gooseneck clamp tripod that I clip to a board or table. A lot of art teachers are using this to teach online. Bought it on Amazon.
