(Not in a bad way.) Anyhow, this really homophobic transphobic girl ended up having a crush on him not realising he was trans. Beautiful
I'm not a native english speaker but honestly the whole "They is plural" just sounds so dumb to me, considering "You are" is plural as well and no one uses "Thou art" anymore.
Exactly! Also, "they/them" as singular pronouns for unknown/unspecified gender has been around for a long time in the English language. It's not even difficult to use them. Other languages (like German) have a real problem because there is no existing gender-neutral pronoun that isn't also dehumanising, and people can't agree on made-up new ones.
Hello ! Just to said that I agree with both of you, as a non-native English speaker ! In fact I'm French (who also learning German) and sometimes I don't get all of the English things but I try my best. However, and because I'm learning English, learn one more rule like «they/them can also be used for non-binary people, like the “you” can be singular or plural» don't really annoyed me. I mean, that's pretty easy, not like learning that *bip!* German irregular verbs ! (I can't remember them and it annoyed me) Also, in French too they aren't really neutral pronouns so we created "iel" which is more or less the equivalent for the "they/them" thing, even if straight don't believe it exist (as always).
@@kathilisi3019 hey! i'm from austria (we speak german btw :)) and i know some nonbinary people here. they either use pronouns like she/her, he/him, etc. or dey/dem pronouns! these pronouns are just pronounced the same way they/them is pronounced and are similar(?) to neopronouns. i think some people also just use "sie sind" that's the literal translation of "they are". please don't confuse this with "sie ist" which means "she is". i'm sorry if this is confusing and feel free to ask questions if you have any! not sure if i can answer them though (but ask! maybe someone else knows the answer if i don't)

Homophobes: being gay is a choice Me: ok then. Choose it. Be gay. Make that decision. If it’s a choice it can work both ways so choose it. Be attracted to the same gender.... I. Dare. You.
thing about homophobes though is i don't think they understand that sexuality is *attraction,* not who they sleep with. thus, they'll probably just say they're "choosing not to be gay by not sleeping with the same gender"
…"and no faking it either! Make yourself find the same gender sexually attractive. And _you also need to make yourself find the opposite gender sexually unattractive_ too. Because that's what being gay means."
Excellent point! I usually annoy 'phobes by replying, "Even if it is a choice, so what? I don't care if someone prefers beef instead of fish." I don't need anyone to give me a reason for what they do with their own bodies, and that baffles controlling people to no end.
ok but why is nobody mentioning “6’11 bald guy with tattoos” like 6’11 is almost 7 feet what kind of person is 6’11 also “imagine being a 5’8 girl-“ dude 5’8 is tall for a girl I think they were trying to get the “small and vulnerable” thing across by including the height but they definitely failed conclusion: I don’t think this person has ever met another human in their life
well, in all fairness, i know someone who is AFAB that is 5'8. that said, it's by no means the standard, and as a 5'6 AFAB person, i'm STILL "above average" for my assigned sex.
It's a very unusual height for men and even more so for women, though I definitely remember reading something about a pair of twins (cis women) who were pro basketball players who were just under 7 foot tall. To be honest, I'd probably be intimidated by a 6'11" human of any gender, although if a 6'11" bald, tattooed trans woman entered the bathroom I'd try not to make her feel uncomfortable by staring too much.

I actually was like that before! When Elliot Page came out as Transman, I was thinking he was a boy before and then wanted to be a girl and then wanted to boy again. Regarding “cis” versus “normal” - my mom always used to tell me there is no such thing as “normal,” only average. Since everyone is different to some extent, I fully believe this. I was not out to my mom, but I’m pretty sure she knew the real me before I ever figured myself out.

The fact that what genitals you're born with only actually matters in the case of certain types of cancer is information that needs to be drilled into more skulls. Yeah, it's irrelevant after a specific part gets removed, but unless you're a doctor specifically checking for cancer on those yet to be removed parts, what parts someone has doesn't really matter.
I've seen the same meme, but reversed with testicular cancer, and I'd actually be celebrating because I'd have immediate medical reasoning to get them removed, and then they would be forced to put me on HRT for a hormone balance because I'd stop producing testosterone. Ofc they could prescribe me testosterone instead but that would be pretty unlikely
Like… This was always allowed. This was always a thing. This has been a thing since forever. External and internal genitalia are two separate things, and gender identity is a separate thing from either. It always has been. If gender identity wasn’t a separate thing from external genitalia then no one would have anxiety about being “unmanned”. You can’t have it both ways. Either having a penis makes you a man regardless of how you act or your actions make you a man and not your anatomy. These two things cannot both be true. A man can have ovarian cancer either because an otherwise anatomically male person has ovary tissue for some reason or because the man is transgender. Humans are complicated. Idk why this is such a difficult concept for some people to grasp. There can be things which are generally speaking true (i.e “women have ovaries”) without those things needing to be true in all cases. Not all women, cis or trans, have ovaries after all. That’s why we call such statements “generalizations”. They are statements which are true in the majority of circumstances, even though we should be aware that they may not be true in all circumstances. That’s what the word “general” means. This is not a difficult concept. Or if it is, I’m not sure why.
I love that Jamie said that Nonbinary people are God, not gods-plural. We are a singular entity that has expanded their consciousness across the globe.

They don't really think highly enough of trans people to consider that they aren't going to put their dead gender in their title. I don't think they even realize we're human beings with wants or desires.
I think it's because they think trans people misgender themselves when talking about themselves. It makes no sense, but I guess they think a trans man would be a biological man wanting to be a woman because to them the person would stay a man no matter what? I don't know, why am I trying to empathize with transphobes over transphobic things?
Well, when I was younger and didn't know much about the LGBT community I wasn't sure if the man/woman in trans man/woman was referring to the birthday sex or to the actual gender so it's very probably an error I did to whitout actually want to be transphobic
but don't tell them about it lmao it would be sad if they- wait... I'm just gonna go with he because that's apparently what they want- started to correct himself
Because whenever you start researching honestly about trans people for like 5 minutes you can understand that 1- trans men are ftm and trans women are mtf 2- trans people are valid So I think these people are probably willfully ignorant and won't even research the basics about trans people because they might end up changing their mind, *sCaAAarY*
I absolutely adore accidental allies. I enjoy when they get angry when you point out how supportive they are because they're so confused about everything. It's like "it hurt itself in it's confusion" and it gives me life.
I think that these people really show that they just hate on whatever just because. I mean they don't even understand what they're denouncing. In a way, it's like they're just having a reaction against their own ignorance. Like, they face something outside their comfort zone and feel that it's something they don't understand but rather than challenging themselves they just want to invalidate whatever it is making them realise how narrow their minds are. Maybe, idk, just a thought
It used to be that people said "thou" for singular and "you" for plural, but then they just dropped the "thou". I wouldn't mind terribly doing the same thing with "they", since English for reasons I still cannot fathom has no gender-neutral singular pronoun.

I was having an argument with someone on Instagram a couple of days ago. Halfway through they tell me to “get back in the kitchen”, as a trans girl it was actually quite validating. I really am desperate. Edit: It was validating because I’ve been deprived of proper validation and I’ll take anything. Not because I like misogynistic approaches to womanhood.
"Them is plural." Yes, but 'you' is also Singular. Examples of using Them as singular and you as plural: "My friend is coming over." "Cool, when will they be here?" "Hey, everyone! What are you guys doing?"
If you do not know a person by name or otherwise, when pointing to show who you are talking about, you say them over there or they said something, it is used as a neutral term, but if you know that persons name, you will refer to them with their pronouns. If you know a person by name that identifies as non-binary, people find it hard to why a person would refer to themselves as plural rather than a singular being. In the general sense they/them is seen as plural.
I was once having an argument with this guy online, and he suddenly said "You'll never be a woman! You'll always be a man!" I wrote back thanking him and he just kept ranting.
I'm Genderfluid so I have no set gender (I'm nb today) and I just want to say you are all valid, special, wonderful human beings no matter your race, preferred pronouns or sexuality.

The word they was used as a singular pronoun before "you" was, before that they said "thou"
I always get confused on why people don't like they/them pronouns - they totally made writing essays easier and didn't require learning a brand new word.
I guess it's because it sounds odd when the neutral pronoun is consciously used, in a context that would normally use he/she. Using they/them in that context implies that the non-binary's gender is always unknown, even though it is known, they're non-binary!
I bloody love 'they'. So many times in work situations you have to refer to a colleague you've never met with an ambiguous first name and 'they' is a constant lifesaver. I've said it before and I'll say it again, nowhere in the scriptures does it ever say that being trans or crossdressing is wrong. I am Christian and I completely support you guys. Just figured it would be comforting to read that someone supports you and there is no evidence of you being wrong. Be yourself, love yourself. And to my fellow Christians, part of our basic doctrine is to respect others' belief, so, if you're going to be hateful, reevaluate your actions. Lastly, love your neighbor as yourself and respect them as the human beings they are, if they aren't actively harming people it is not your job to judge them.

I hate the argument against Trans people where they say "Oh but now any creepy guy can walk into a woman's bathroom, claim he's trans, and stare at all the women" While that's technically true, what these people don't seem to realize is that, trans or not, being creepy in the bathroom is not without consequence. It doesn't matter who you are, what you look like, or which bathroom you're in, you'll get kicked out. Claiming to be trans is not a get out of jail free card. So let people use the damn bathroom and stop being weird about it, this argument has nothing to do with trans people and makes no sense

(I can't remember them and it annoyed me)
Also, in French too they aren't really neutral pronouns so we created "iel" which is more or less the equivalent for the "they/them" thing, even if straight don't believe it exist (as always).
@@sammischoko1676 interesting, we came up with sier in Germany, but that sounds weird as well. How do you deal with the whole endings thing that is so built up around binary gender constructs? For example the Je suis allée or je suis allé thing. As a Native German learning French those endings have always irritated me but I guess for non-binary people, this must be horrible
@@yourevalidd6231 hi, I'm also from Austria actually, but I don't know any local non-binary people who speak German, I only have two enby internet acquaintances who speak English ;)

Homophobes:
being gay is a choice
Me:
ok then. Choose it. Be gay. Make that decision. If it’s a choice it can work both ways so choose it. Be attracted to the same gender.... I. Dare. You.
thing about homophobes though is i don't think they understand that sexuality is *attraction,* not who they sleep with. thus, they'll probably just say they're "choosing not to be gay by not sleeping with the same gender"
me: so i made one good life choice............SWEET!
The funny thing is that in their logic people would choose to be oppressed, voluntarily
I don't care if someone prefers beef instead of fish." I don't need anyone to give me a reason for what they do with their own bodies, and that baffles controlling people to no end.

well, in all fairness, i know someone who is AFAB that is 5'8. that said, it's by no means the standard, and as a 5'6 AFAB person, i'm STILL "above average" for my assigned sex.

I once saw an accidental ally meme that went like this:
Doctor: Okay, ma'am.
Patient: It's sir.
Doctor. Okay sir, you have ovarian cancer.
Like…
This was always allowed. Or if it is, I’m not sure why.

i love how most of this video is just people getting trans woman and trans man mixed up
How, it’s so simple XD
Because whenever you start researching honestly about trans people for like 5 minutes you can understand that
1- trans men are ftm and trans women are mtf
2- trans people are valid
So I think these people are probably willfully ignorant and won't even research the basics about trans people because they might end up changing their mind, *sCaAAarY*
I absolutely adore accidental allies. I enjoy when they get angry when you point out how supportive they are because they're so confused about everything. It's like "it hurt itself in it's confusion" and it gives me life.
“They/them is plural” have you ever considered that I’m 30 rats in a trench coat?
I think that these people really show that they just hate on whatever just because. I mean they don't even understand what they're denouncing. In a way, it's like they're just having a reaction against their own ignorance. Like, they face something outside their comfort zone and feel that it's something they don't understand but rather than challenging themselves they just want to invalidate whatever it is making them realise how narrow their minds are. Maybe, idk, just a thought
When people say things like "but they is plural, you say they are, not they is." and just ignore that the word you is used for singular and plural.
It used to be that people said "thou" for singular and "you" for plural, but then they just dropped the "thou". I wouldn't mind terribly doing the same thing with "they", since English for reasons I still cannot fathom has no gender-neutral singular pronoun.

Yes, but 'you' is also Singular.
Examples of using Them as singular and you as plural:
"My friend is coming over."
"Cool, when will they be here?"
"Hey, everyone! What are you guys doing?"
I think the problem is that historically it's used as only a general singular, so it can be a little difficult to get used to.

I once saw a trans women that said someone once told her "you'll never be a man, stop trying to be anything other than a girl" while trying to be transphobic and she thought it was funny because they accidentally properly gendered her lol
Edit: also they may be plural but it is also singular and it may intrest you to know that the word you is actually plural. The word they was used as a singular pronoun before "you" was, before that they said "thou"
I always get confused on why people don't like they/them pronouns - they totally made writing essays easier and didn't require learning a brand new word.
Absolutely
I guess it's because it sounds odd when the neutral pronoun is consciously used, in a context that would normally use he/she. Using they/them in that context implies that the non-binary's gender is always unknown, even though it is known, they're non-binary!
I bloody love 'they'. So many times in work situations you have to refer to a colleague you've never met with an ambiguous first name and 'they' is a constant lifesaver. "Following Sam's email, they made some salient points...". I've been using 'they' for like 20 years to refer to singular people. How is it hard lol

That did make me smile, and I needed it. :) A friend sent it to me after hearing about some abuse I had yesterday. Thank you so much for cheering me up a bit. xxx
I mean they're kinda right lol
There's no such thing as a TRANS woman. They're just women. And they've always been, no matter if they looked "masculine" before ❤️❤️
Love to all my sisters ✨
The last one made me happy and gave me wholesome vibes lmao
"Ray... when someone asks... if you're a god, you say YES!"
I just found your channel, and i will now watch as many videos as i can in one go.

Was it from Wells Fargo? Because me too.
@@a-wild-goose um it was a target one
Thank you for your videos. I really appreciate what you do and your positive vibes.
Ahhh hello everyone! You are valid and loved today!!! Love this community!
Hello Jamie, thank you for your upload. You always manage to cheer me up, no matter how low I feel or what I’m going through. You’re always able to help me deal with my emotions of dysphoria and depression, without the use of therapy because I am too young to have it on my own terms, and I’m not out to my family. Dysphoria is a messy pile of rotten horror that boils up inside of me and I can’t deal with those emotions on my own. I’ve gotten myself in situations where I don’t feel like I belong in my own family because of my identity. Thank you for helping me deal with these emotions for the brief span of a video, you really mean a lot to so many by simply uploading.
I hate the argument against Trans people where they say "Oh but now any creepy guy can walk into a woman's bathroom, claim he's trans, and stare at all the women"
While that's technically true, what these people don't seem to realize is that, trans or not, being creepy in the bathroom is not without consequence. It doesn't matter who you are, what you look like, or which bathroom you're in, you'll get kicked out. Claiming to be trans is not a get out of jail free card.
So let people use the damn bathroom and stop being weird about it, this argument has nothing to do with trans people and makes no sense
I am non-binary and met someone who was actually really nice and curious on Omegle…(Omegal?) anyway, he asked some questions and was surprisingly respectful. Wholesome people for the win. Love this video!
YOU ARE AMAZING AND VALID I WILL ALWAYS ACCEPT YOU ALL!!! Keep safe and remember that you are loved
🙂
Remember that Jammie will never be a woman! He will always be a man. :)
@xkaix lmao yes
@@dontknowwhatimdoing3642 Yes! support jammie :D
Thanks so much! :D
I recently started following this channel and I'm watching a lot of older videos, the accidental allies ones are my favourites! They're always so funny and you make them so wholesome with your positivity!
Not an accidental ally, but my school recently had a sports day, and some people in our year brought a bi flag and some smaller pride flags and some people from other years came and asked for them. We had pastel face paint, so some people put bi/pan/pride flags on their arms and one of the people in the year below us had painted on a trans flag. My genderfluid lesbian friend felt really happy and after that has started wearing her flag pins on her blazer. I don't know why I felt like saying this but it was a really wholesome experience
I've had a really bad day with a lot of self doubt and anxiety, these videos always make me feel a lot better :)
Two months later ... hoping things are easier lately. Hang in there.

Person: I’m not using they/them pronouns
Me: Then use Xie/Xier pronouns
Person: 😑
How would you pronounce xie/xier? I wanna know so I can be prepared in the future
ok than you're no longer allowed to refer to groups of people.
If you don't like they, then use thee/thou for second person singular.
my sister really said xei/xer salad😭✋
I don’t really understand Xie/Xier pronouns, but if someone wants to be referred to as that then I’ll try my best :D
You know Jamie I don't think anyone would mind these vids being a bit longer 😊
I prefer the term ‘parental unit’ over ‘birthing person’
It just flows better
As a Cis woman, I really don’t understand other Cis gendered peoples problem with that term.
Also adore the sibling who taught their parents with the air horn. I will forever correct anyone who misgenders or deadnames somebody.
One of the arguments they present that i'm a little amused by, because they're *technically* not wrong is "trans people are just pretending that they're a different gender than they really are!"
...i mean... i did spend about 20 years pretending to be a guy i guess.
out here fooling everyone with our superior acting skills. but then they'll get mad when I call myself a drag queen😩
