Thanks for the great video. I am seating now and working on the same Beomaster. well, the leds are only one of the problems. it's practically kind of dead unit. nothing works properly. only lights here and there. i hope that the microcontrollers are good...

Checking for voltages is probably your first point of call ! Good luck

Thanks for the super helpful video. I’m going to order the ‘RED 0603 SMD LED’s from the store you mentioned. Do you think I could get away with simply replacing the one LED that went out on my 8004 board? Wondering if I just did the one if it would stick out compared to the others. I’d rather not do all 30 if I can help it.

New LEDs are a lot brighter but you could dim it down with some blue filters. There’s a comment below from another fixer that apparently the terminals come loose on the pads and maybe a reflow of the original ones may work, so that’s worth a try first!

Thanks for an excellent video! Beolover is a great site. I have similar issue on my Beocord 8004, not sure if my soldering skills are good enough LOL

The soldering part isn’t too tricky :) just a bit fiddly! Many thanks for the kind comments! I have been tempted to do other peoples but I get concerned working on other peoples stuff, wouldn’t want to break it!

I found the micro wire on the + common of the original LED's lets go of the pad. I added solder to the pad to bond this wire better to the pad & all the segments then worked. A few I had to do twice because the first attempt was intermittent. Nearly all the segment b4 this repair either didn't work or were intermittent. Did like your video for an alternative repair if needed.

Changing the LED's is probably the best way 2 go, as some failed again after a few weeks

It’s a fiddly thing! Thanks for the comments, wonder if something happens to them to cause them to eventually fully fail
