I'm 64 now but I love this guy's philosophy on both life and music. He comes across as a lovely guy and so well grounded.
Music really is a healer and brings people together. Everyone should express themselves through some form of art because I think it slows your world down a little and is so rewarding mentally.
This interview was 3 years ago and 'Fame' is calling now big time, especially with the release of Ren's second album.
I hope it doesn't change him and I hope he keeps his feet well grounded. Keep the mates you have now really close to you, because they'll be honest with you. And remember it's the simple things in life that make you happy, not big houses or flash cars.
As I'm sure you know only to well Ren happiness is a state of mind, not wealth.
☀🌧🌈 3 years later...Ren just hit, does, like he said... his honesty, empathy and ability, to see things the way they are... give words to that and turn it to music... We are witnessing greatness.
I so needed to hear him talk in a conversational way, he's seemed so ethereal with his genius writing and performing. Very pleased to get what I hoped and believed he'd be, a nice bloke.

With every song being a masterpiece, Ren saying "I don't think I've written my best songs yet" makes us all waiting for the new releases feel like 5yo excited for boxing day

Love this insight into where Ren was at the time, knowing what great things he had ahead.
I imagine this must have been filmed just before his career and opportunities got put back on hold due to the pandemic/lock down since Apr 2020 when it says this video was put out was mid lock down.
I’ve become a huge fan this year - but as I’ve watched everything he’s put out, I’ve kept finding the odd bit that is familiar - things I had seen before, enjoyed, but never quite stuck. I remember people sharing his busking videos and being blown away by them, but just thought “ah, lucky Brighton having such a talented busker there”. I remember being shown ‘The Hunger’ as an example of impressive rap, but I wasn’t ready at the time / I kick myself now remembering that I was dismissive…I didn’t get rap, I couldn’t follow what he was saying and what I did hear didn’t seem to mean anything, so I foolishly judged him for ‘looking too old to be dressed like a kid’…I’d completely forgotten thinking that until I’d watched the video maybe 20 or 30 times these past few months, loving it, and then suddenly had this guilty memory….what had I been thinking!

I've not been aware of Ren very Long or The Pig push .or the Artists I've seen performing with like Sam Tompkins, Chinchilla, I'm 62 year old live uo North .So I'm sure that's why nothing to do with an hierarchy in the Music in Britain.
