While this is completely different from the original, I feel it does its job being just as jarring and disorienting as the original. Although I do miss the initial sting in the original
I actually really like the almost.. breathing like slow percussion that appears some times in the song, really matches with the concept that the environment itself, and with it the music feel like a living organism, that i have heard of regarding Metroid 1's soundtrack, although this is obviously a boss theme and not an environment song. I would love to see a more quiet and visually dark Metroid game like Super Metroid or the original Metroid 2 in the future since i feel like they have only become more colorful with time, even with their attempts to become more horror like with the SA-X or the EMMI.

@@youngkappakhan I beat the original and Samus Returns, I only got like 1 hour in for AM2R since I didn't have a controller, but I did kill a few Alphas.
This game's unique among all the versions of Metroid II in that it has a separate theme for each metroid type. Hell, the Alpha metroid actually has *two.* And yes, I have played all three versions. Love em all.
