Just got one off Amazon for almost $300 I’m definitely satisfied about it, it arrived in just 4 days and I love the quality of it, I’m planning on taking lots of trips this year and I just thought I needed the elph 100 to capture some of the moments, so glad I made the purchase it’s really a beautiful camera
I have the simply squared off Elf sd1000 & the Titanium sd900, both unique in their own obvious ways, but you haven’t pointed out how and/or why the 400 stands out in any particular way to the other similar compact body Canons in those years. I thought you were going to point out that it had a 28mm wide end or something, which at least one of these similar bodied cameras had, don’t recall the model #, but I used to have one, in fact singled that one out for that very reason.
Hi! I like your site - it's informative and straightforward. I don't have an ELPH 100, but an ELPH 135 that won't focus when I press the shutter button down half-way (I hear a click instead). The focusing servo doesn't kick in. It happens on auto-, or manual focus. Really frustrating! Is there a part I can check or replace to fix it? Thanx for any insight
Hey @sammoodyiphone I use 2 cameras mainly, a Sony A6300 with a 35mm prime lens for closeups, and generally a Canon EOS M50 II with a 15-45mm lens for the longer shots.
I love this camera but I get pretty annoyed that there isn’t a way to have the flash on at all times. It’s auto or not at all and without the flash people look pretty bad if you aren’t going for that specific look.
On top of the camera there’s a shifter from auto to manual. Shift it to the left. Then you can manually choose your flash option. You can choose the flash option

I got a pink one for $2.00 at a good will sale. But I see they are selling on eBay for about $250. I think I scored!

Question: can you charge the camera using a cable or do i need to buy a separate battery charger. Ps- i got just the camera in a yard sale
