      Me too, enjoyed her videos and what a shame she got the long covid. I had chronic fatigue syndrome years ago and it was debilitating for the first six months and didn’t fully recover until a year later. Supposedly people that had mononucleosis were more inclined to get it a few years after recovering from it. Who knows?

    • @mikebarushok5361
      @mikebarushok5361 2 місяці тому +3

      @@twolford01 It's a current working hypothesis that CFS/ME might be an effect of Epstein Barr virus which causes mononucleosis. Difficult to test the hypothesis because very few people get to thirty years old without being infected.
      Post poliomyelitis syndrome, long COVID, Gulliane Barre, shingles and CFS/ME either are known or suspected to be when a viral infection isn't or can't be cleared by the immune system. Or when the immune system itself is modified in such a way as to provoke an autoimmune response. Or both.
      There are a few autoimmune diseases that may be triggered by a viral infection and sometimes only surface after months or years.

    • @beachbum77979
      @beachbum77979 2 місяці тому +4

      @@Evan490BC I understand that asking "How are you?" is just a greeting. But sometimes, such as when I was going through waves of grief, sometimes I really didn't want to explain but I found it hard to give the expected reply of "I'm fine" or "I'm OK". One evening about 6 months after my mom passed away I went to practice for our band at church. Our pastor said "Hi Wally, how are you doing?" She knew that mom had died and I was kinda getting back to normal. But I wasn't OK and certainly not fine. So I sat down beside her and said "I don't know how to answer your question." I asked when I could meet her and talk. She said "Tomorrow". After about an hour and a half talking with her and after leaving her office I realized I still didn't know how to answer that question. On the way home I did realize I felt better. So that's how I started answering that question. Now I can say I'm OK or fine or tired or busy etc. But there were times I didn't want to go into a long explanation and didn't want to say that I was OK when I wasn't
      Now, unless I'm reasonably sure a friend is doing well I'll greet them with something like "Good to see you." Like with Physics Girl, I wouldn't ask her how she's doing. I would ask her husband "How's Dianna doing." I would ask if there is anything I can do to help.

    Vance didn't really transform his political positions as I can see, he just transformed his position on Trump. He essentially adopted the approach of Bannon, who called Trump "a blunt instrument...but the instrument we have."

    • @negy2570
      @negy2570 2 місяці тому

      yeah, I don't see Trump having the same exact political and ideological direction as Vance. Trump is a business maker, taking profit of situation and others' weakness, whatever works on my behalf is good is his motto, one thing today and another thing tomorrow, lying is a profession.
      Instead, Vance seems inherently ideological and fanatical.
      I see them as a couple of circumstance helping each other atm, but if Trump wins he will be out of games for 2028, while Vance will stay in game for presidency and in that case I really hope that Americans will go to vote with a hand on their conscience. And if Trump wins, let's hope he won't die before the end of his term.

    Vlad, I would love for you to help clarify how the regime can orchestrate the execution of the legal apparatus such that the individuals in the civil service can interpret and execute laws not in their literal sense but rather in a sense that effectively upholds the overarching narrative.
    I fail to wrap my head around how anti-terrorism laws that classify false information spreaders are executed in such a way that they target true information spreaders in the public but fail to target real but official misinformation spreaders - barring some kind of "devine hand" micro-managing such a system from above; is everyone in on the joke, so to speak, executing what they know is the opposite of the letter of the law? Does that not generate an environment of absolute cynicism & how can this be sustained practically?

    Vlad, thank you for such intriguing thoughts. I'm curious if you could give a bit of language to how Vance, the vp pick, reflects the populism in politics in the broader world.

      Democrats must talk a lot about DT preparing his supporters and undecided for the event last Saturday during his rally. Because now many people in USA see him as a victim and hero, also many undecided became his supporters. I haven't seen any channel talking that DT had been talking a number of times about his assassination and his last message was that during his next rally all hell will break loose. Very convenient to him and his cult....

    Hi Vlad. Haircuts!😊My daughter cuts mine at my home because going to get my haircut, a ritual I once quite enjoyed, became an energy sapping burden. Such is life. 🙃However it is about what you describe as Jo Biden’s cognitive decline I wanted to speak. As I have mentioned in the past I am a qualified counsellor. However I am not diagnosing Biden. That would be inappropriate. A few comments. Jo has had a life long stutter. Managing a stutter requires concentration that saps energy. It requires rhythmical, measured speech and an internal dialogue that substitutes in the moment a different word for one that is triggering a stutter and is therefore momentarily out of reach. Being tired or unwell makes this harder. He also has neuropathy in his left foot and this is the source of the stumbling. He is not dementing. His medical exam is apparently available on line though I haven’t accessed it. Now a comment about the normal ageing brain. As one ages intelligence crystallises. One knows what one always knew but flexibility and adaptability in the moment reduces. His view that he has decades of relevant experience and that has enabled him to be effective as President is true. However I suspect- as an ordinary punter watching from afar- that a temperament based choice for peace and the tendency to do what one has done in the past (the afore-mentioned crystallisation of ageing?) is evident. In my view he should have set in place transition planning early in his presidency but he has experienced success, and letting go, especially in the face of the Trump threat has been hard. I have seen quite a few people hang on past their most effective years. It is a hard and painful process facing the reality of no longer being at the top of one’s game, facing the irreversibility of it when in the past fighting the health or other limits has been the only way forward. Jo’s mother’s words “Get up Jo” said in the context of fighting a bully, that he often quotes has become a liability at this time. The similarity of circumstance would be resonating, consciously or unconsciously.

    You actually look very cool with that hair. Many years ago I made some collaboration with some good experimental musicians from Moscow, and they very much looked like you. It looks like you are about to compose the experimental soundtrack of some Konstantin Lopushansky's movie, or something.
