I have an older version EFI and just discovered the white plug fittings located between the engine and the right side wheel are catching a bit of wet snow. I cleaned the fittings with CRC QD Electronic Cleaner and resealed with CRC Dielectric Grease. Previously I had a rough running engine and now it runs delightfully again. Maybe coincident, however take a look at yours and you will see its vulnerability.
I have basically the same machine but a couple of years older and no EFI. Moves a lot of snow and turning around at the end of the driveway is a treat compared to my old 40+ year old Airens. I haven't run into any situation this new blower couldn't handle. I wouldn't buy anything but an Airens.
@@evenito9455 Well, I figure why pay a lot more $$$'s when I'm very happy with this machine. It's only my second Ariens in over 38 years living here and the first one I bought used and OLD. Both are reliable, easy to start, move any snow we get in up-state NY. I won't buy anything else.
Geat video. Question, dose the front ride up at all when going through more hard packed mounds? Seems to be a common complaint on the platinum models, but then they are lighter. I am thinking of buying one of thees next year, probably the more basic pro model, with the carburetor and disk drive. I live in southern NH and just cleaned of from this same storm. Been using an old bolens tractor with 48'' snow blower, but your feet freeze when your just sitting there, lol I love my old john deere 826 but she is plum worn out.
I have a 24 platinum Sho & it rode up a lot. Also, Ariens wants a lot of money for the bucket weights, so i went to a steel supply & got a piece of 3/8 flat bar drilled 2 holes. painted it & bolted it to the bucket. Used nylon washer so as not to beat up the paint
I have exactly the same 28 hydro pro efi, 2019 model year. Awesome machine. But I have to disagree on fuel tank size. I too, paid about $3000 from a local dealer. A 2 quart fuel tank on a professional/commercial machine is totally unacceptable!! This is the only area where Ariens messed up! I'm truly hoping that they realized this from all the similar complaints, and hopefully engineered a larger replacement tank for the new models that recently came out, that hopefully bolts in place of our tank. My driveway is a third of your sized driveway. I'm in central Wisconsin, and when we get a large snowfall, there is no way I can get 2 complete driveway passes on my driveway when using 'performance power setting. Otherwise I completely agree with your review of this machine. It us definitely a beast, whether in snow or slush. I have no issue with the front end riding up on hard pack. Matter of fact, the front end actually digs into the hard pack and clears it amazingly well. Have had absolutely no issues at all and mine too, starts on first half pull. Found No need to use electric start.
Yes definitely too small of a tank. My driveway has a incline so I had to buy 1 weighted bar and it helped a lot. Might have to get the second though still rides up some. I put a cab on mine also. Run it with a heavy sweater . Great machine!
Great video! Question, I have heavy drifting where I live in ND. Any more examples of your unit handling deep heavy snow? What are the limits on deep snow? 12"? 14"?
I have the ariens pro 28 inch same as yours but mines not hydro or efi, it’s brand new but when it’s running the augers stay engaged even when the triggers not pulled down. Any tips on how to fix this or is that Normal?
Your Go Pro must not like being cold? Well quit blowing snow at it! And you should clean your snowblower off before putting it way instead of bringing all that snow in your garage and making a big mess all over the floor. You didn't keep your battery charged while not in use? Bad idea. That's what wrecks the battery. They should be kept fully charged. Take care of your equipment and it will take care of you!
Much better then any battery powered snow blower that's for sure.
I had a snowblower 20 years is still kicking😂😂

Why not buy Honda?

Good video. I hope to hear the efi system is working well still…
Need to brush that snow off outside before bringing it into the garage. And clean out the chute, impeller and auger housing.
😎👍 Thing really gets the job done. 😁

It did a little when filming but that's from only using one hand. No issues when normally using
@@Intervention302 good to know. Thanks.

You mentioned the tachometer was a bad purchase. Why do you feel that way? Is there another tach you think would be better?
Did he respond to your comment on a tachometer??
I love mine

Definitely not normal! Also a huge safety risk! It's something jammed in the cable actuator/linkage is my guess
Sounds like the cable needs adjusted. Sometimes, they are not right from the factory.
A Pro is not a residential snow blower. Pro means for professionals in their field work.
It's just the fact everything is reinforced.
I have one for personal use and love it
@@ericelliott2623 Yes. They are awesome. I have 3 of them.
