    Accessories that I recommend: liketk.it/4oLV0
    I have had my Peloton for several years. I have certainly gone in spurts of using it and allowing it to collect dust, but I really think that it is a good piece of fitness equipment for me. What I love most about it are the instructors.
    The Yesoul bike allows you to use the Peloton app and stream/connect with an HDMI cord to UA-cam. I think that this is a solid alternative if the Peloton is not in your price range.
    The Peloton is a better bike overall - it is heavier, has a touchscreen, and has an ease of connection that the yesoul lacks, but the yesoul is still a good bike.
    I would absolutely add a new seat and bike pedals to the bike to ride it, I will include those on my linktree from Amazon.

    You are such an inspiration. I am a 35 yr diabetic. My a1c is a 5.9. I totally understand. A couple of years ago I started losing weight and we couldn’t figure out why or how. But I’m healthy. I have lost 130 lbs. I now really watch what I eat. I also have the cgm. I love it. It really opened my eyes to what was actually affecting my glucose and what wasn’t. Our family is full of diabetes. Me and all 5 of my siblings are diabetic. Our mother was as well. Stay safe and God Bless

    This was helpful and inspiring. Thank you for talking about weight and exercise with honesty! There is so much pain and discomfort with starting to exercise when you are heavy, big and have not exercised in a long while. But no body talks about it.

      It is hard- and so many people chalk it up
      To very simple calories in and calories out- to just add in exercise… easy-peasy!! But it is not that simple. They cannot know or be taking into consideration the other factors, embarrassment, actual real physical pain, and sometimes Herculean effort/motivation that is involved when we know that moving our bodies is going to hurt! It is a negative reinforcement cycle and one that is so difficult to break!!
      I am sending you hugs ❤️

    Good morning Meridith! Know you’re having a great holiday right now! No Black Friday sales for you but oh I those Holiday Markets!!
    So glad I stayed for the pep talk! What a brilliant PA you have! ❤❤❤
    I bought a regular bicycle a few years ago and loved it but I’d never do spinning. I think my knees would scream. I say loved it because I haven’t ridden in a year. Trying to dismount on a Sandy incline and the bike got away with me and I ended up with a hamstring injury and that led to bursitis of the sitz bone. Ouch. All better now but I’m reluctant to ride again. One of these days I’ll do it!!
    Thanks for planning ahead with the video and Happy Holidays to you and yours!!!

    This is so inspirational- just what I needed to hear today !
    Just started watching and I am hoping Meredith mentions where she got her top- it’s just about perfect
    Additional thought:
    I have a few New Year’s resolutions that are evergreen, I renew them every year and one is to be kinder to myself
    My inner dialogue can be very critical of everything I do and I had an epiphany that I would never talk to my worst enemy (let alone someone I liked!) the way I talk to myself! And that was my wake call to really tune in and not let my inner dialogue get negative and self critical

    Thanks for posting this! I use an Echelon bike that's pretty similar to the Yesoul bike, though it doesn't have a built-in screen. I use my laptop to view Peloton workouts using the Peloton Basic membership, and I downloaded a mobile app that can display the bike's cadence and convert its resistance to the Peloton resistance scale. By the way, I am able to join live classes with my Peloton Basic membership - I'm not sure if that's something I was grandfathered into, or if it's available on all current Peloton Basic memberships, but I wanted to let you know.
    Also on the point of being over the bike's weight limit, I've been told the limit is based more on the bike's stability on the ground when you're out of the saddle and swaying side to side. So I bought 50 lb bags of garden pebbles for $5 each and put them on top of the bike's four feet to help stabilize it. I can now sway side to side with no issue, despite being over the bike's weight limit.
    Thanks again for this and all of your videos!

    It is interesting, how differently we speak to , think of, and believe in OTHERS than we do ourselves. At 53 I am finally reaching the point wear I am happy with ME even overweight. What i am not happy with and why I need to do something about my weight is the stiffness, pain, and knowing I need to be more active. For me it is more about getting active than what I eat. I honestly need to eat more. I used to be very active and going to a gym before moving here to Florida and with the heat and humidity and sun, I became less and less active every year. NOW, my body is rebelling so it is time to kick myself in the butt and do something while I still can. I started with learning to be ok with how I look and not care what others see. NOW I am working on that whole believing in myself and supporting and cheering myself on lie I do everyone else. We are now cooler here this time of year and the time to just do it! You have been a great motivator and showing results of what putting the effort in your self can do.

    I was really debating whether or not to get this and after watching your video I finally did! Thanks for the recommendation on changing the seat! Have you changed the pedals to SPD pedals since posting the video? If so, was it difficult to change out the seat and pedals?

    • @BigonStyle
      @BigonStyle  5 місяців тому +2

      Changing the seat is frustrating- I needed my husband to hold it still, the bolts were really weird- but once it was on, it was on. I have had one on my peloton for a few years and it is totally stable.
      The pedals were super easy to screw on- now, the first time I tried to clip out, I could not get my shoe loose( I took my foot out of the shoe), it took a few times to get it to loosen up! - that is really on the pedals and the shoes not the bike.
      After riding it more- I really feel like the HDMI cord is necessary- streaming was not very reliable, but the cord works every time!
      I hope that you love it!

      @@BigonStyle aw hehe getting your foot stuck to the bike seems like it's one of those things where it's not funny in the moment, but then after you can't help but crack up about it 😆 I'm glad to hear that the HDMI cord has been working well for you! I joined a Facebook group for people that bought the Yesoul and it seems to be a lot of people are complaining about streaming issues. Sometimes simple things like a cord can really make a big difference

      The biggest thing when I was going into a class was buying padded pants!! It wasn’t the spinning itself that hurt me as much as the seat on my bum!! I also found that it was easier with spin shoes than regular shoes, that kept me from thinking about my feet. The first ones that I bought actually had laces and rubber bottoms!

      Deana, I take Mounjaro- very similar. My doctor won’t increase my dosage because my A1C is doing really well, and I would love for it to be increased. I did not feel sick on either medication, but I know that many do. Be sure to check with insurance, I know that Mounjaro is difficult to get covered without a diabetes diagnosis and is very pricey- absolutely worth looking into!

      Very good question! I actually use the Peloton and gave the Yesoul to my sister-in-law. I had initially brought the bike to my office, but there was not time in the workday to make it happen. How is the resistance on the YESOUL compared to peleton

    • @BigonStyle
      @BigonStyle  6 місяців тому +1

      Hey Sheila, I feel like the Peloton resistance feels tighter, if that makes sense? If I had both at 45 resistance, I feel like the Peloton is a little more difficult. They seem to both increase at consistently, but the peloton has a higher baseline.
      The Peloton is also heavier/more stable- I do not feel like the Yesoul is going to tip
      Or anything, but, when I run on the Peloton, there is no shifting at all, whereas there is some with the Yesoul.

    I have to say the peloton looks a lot sturdier of a bike, am I right?
    Unfortunately once we try high end its so hars to drop back even if its also a great option. If you never knew peleton I bet you'd think it was a perfect option.
    How nice of them to send the bike though. This youtube life has many perks🚲 maybe peleton will see this😂😂

    • @BigonStyle
      @BigonStyle  7 місяців тому +1

      Sarah, you are right- the peloton is sturdier- I think that you said it perfectly- it is a good bike if that is what you are looking for. If I had the choice between the two and was unconcerned about price, I would absolutely choose the Peloton. That said, the Yesoul handled my weight just fine sitting and standing (I have gotten on a couple other bikes that made me afraid that I would break them 😬).

      It was very rough when I first did it- the uncomfortable seat was a huge problem! I go in spurts of exercise, and I really think that is ok. When I hit my highest weight in January, I would not dream of any kind of exercise because my knees hurt so badly. After I lost some weight, I started walking- but my knees can still be dicey. I have trouble with any kind of squats or jumping kind of exercise. Don’t do anything you aren’t ready for!

      Eugenia, I am 5’10” and have only recently lost enough weight to be under the Peloton weight limit. The Peloton’s is 297 and the Yesoul’s is 265 (I am over that) I have ridden the Peloton in the 340s with no issue. It is a heavier duty bike than the Yesoul. Both companies have said that it is up to the consumer, I would absolutely recommend writing them, but my experience was fine on both- I will say that I would not ride either without replacing the seat!
