Troy Baker really gives everything when he’s playing a character because Higgs is honestly one of my favorite characters in this game and that’s partly due to the amazing performance that Troy gave all through out plus his character design is fucking badass
I think Higgs is probably his best because he brought everything with him to the character. He had the experience from playing amazing villains like Pagan Min and brought it all.
As I get older I realize just how terribly cruel the punishment Fragile experienced really is. I can't imagine the psychological dissonance Fragile would experience due to her body being transformed into such a state. I think it's actually one of the most effective stories of body horror around and that Cronenburg would be very impressed.
There's actually a bit of Japanese folklore in Higg's methods as well: In Shinto there is the Onmyoji, a person who was able to control the spirits of people by various means. One of best ways was by the use of gold. And in order to control those spirits they often had to do some pretty heinous stuff

There's some text about his life in a shelter, he eventually kills his dad and feels the bt coming, sensed it. It shows he got dooms there, also said that it was fading away after, but he knew how to get it back... to kill people. It shows he did have some measure of doom abilities before meeting amelie, right. She just expanded his powers basically.

in all honesty, Higgs is likely the most mysterious character still... while everybody else got their backstory chapter, he didn't; only a few dialogues from amelie and fragile at best. Have high hopes for him to get his true spotlight in DS 2, especially cuz he's fucking troy baker. Some people say he's "a cliche" villain and/or "underdeveloped", but, after the ending, it becomes pretty clear to me that this was just some sort of prologue arc to his character, to give him actual motivation to get his revenge against amelie (who straight up used and discarded him like a peon just to get to sam) and possibly sam/bridges too

if we get another death stranding i do hope dooms abit more developed with our own ability to see BT's depending on our birthdate as i'd love to try to see BT's without a BB if my birthdate allows it and we also get another interresting story to play through as a delivery guy still as i love that aspect of gameplay as i am tired of just go through this kill people and find said item or destroy said item or kill/capture enemy to get intel from them and i do love we're forced not to kill anyone but it could be frustating but it's a breathe of fresh air
for me it told me something alike to those who is bron under cancer pisces cetus delphinus and gigas has a higher level of dooms maybe my doom level wouldn't be as high as yours and i do hope also the next death stranding has 4 to 6 player CO-OP and if you have a high level of dooms enough to see them you can use a bola gun to mark them for me so i can shoot them down while others carry cargo

Seriously one of the most out of the world stories I have ever seen and one of the most enjoyable games I have ever played. You'd think just at first glance delivering packages is boring but... There's something about it that sucks you in and makes you keep saying "just 1 more delivery.

Absolutely love this video and game. Im currently 50hrs in on my second playthrough in chapter 9 been enjoying it alot more with the online part and Ziplineing over snowy mountains and flying on highways it's an amazing experience
as you said that Amelie had given him power I don't think she is much conflicted, what does she want? she is just using Higgs to do what she wanted. She doesn't want her hands to get dirty, she even takes her powers back when he loses. to her, Higgs is just a piece of whatever game she was playing. Higgs's troubled nature makes him an easy target for Amelie probably. About fragile, I think she still got the bad end, pretty face but the old body. I think it tells the story of how some people can advantage of your insecurities ( i think Higgs wanted something of names like a hero or something like that) and make you do their bad deeds portraying you as an evil villain on their behalf. that's all I seem to understand...

I dislike Amelie because she was screwed which is sad but then she decided to use literally everyone so she won’t have to carry her burden alone or at all. Sam as a loving family member, people as ones looking for a hope, Higgs, a young slightly traumatized man (at that time) who wanted to survive and perhaps thrive. A selfish lady, heck her president body was using babies so what could a person expect. So when I finished the game for the first time, I grew to dislike her a lot. Tbh, I shot her in the end, but she didn’t die... darn 🤣
One thing the game doesn't explain is the underlining backstory as to why higgs is so fixated on likes lol. Tbh I think Sam just got wrapped up further with all of his mushroom likes lol. But seriously this game did a huge shot at social media and real life applications due to the social economic ecosystem forced by the time fall... Undermining the porters (hard workers) like always
If Higgs' BB wasn't real, then what was his Odradek responding to? Sam's dek was directly linked to Lou so I don't think Higgs' was linked directly to his person, and a fake BB wouldn't be able to respond because it's a doll.
I’m not sure. To be honest, that’s the one thing in this game I couldn’t really fully understand. Higgs’ BB and how it worked, scrambled my brain slightly.
It's a mission in the ruined factory. I don't think the mission is exclusive to the DC, as it contains some fairly important backstory. Could be wrong though. You need to go to the Distribution Centre West of Capital Knot and accept a specific order to trigger the mission.

Higgs is such a cool and interesting villain. I love the crazy lore in this game. Kojima never fails to create weird and fascinating characters.

Forgot how much I loved the story of this game! Only thing holding me back is the gameplay
I feel like such an idiot for not doing the pizza jobs now. I thought I was smart because it was obviously a trap that I was avoiding.
Devided my Missions in, big Truck loads and zip lining. Building a fun infrastructure Like that was big fun.
