A friend gave me an IMMACULATE 1988 Toyota Van, 4x4, Automatic, with manual locking hubs and and 2 speed 4x4 transfer case. the only thing I did not like was the transfer case was an electric switch instead of a manual shift. I LOVED the van, and I can not be more serious. LOVED it. some ass pulled out into my lane and stopped short to make a turn and I tried to miss her but I skimmed the side of her car with the side of my van then hit a tree. That SUCKED so bad. I miss that van soo badly. I've been trying to find another but everyone want a million dollars for them. Best vehicle I've ever had. I miss it terribly. R.I.P. I Love You Van.!.!.!
This van brings me back in the days as a kid....my dad had a stick shift and i remember sitting all the way in the back feeling like i was riding a horse bouncing up and down lol
OutNAbout415 omg yeah! When I was 3 my dad had this car with no seats or seat belts in the back and I remember being in the back with my sister rolling around in the back and also being lifted up on the speed bumps dang I had so much fun back then with this car
Wonder wagons just never took off. Way before it's time. With the modern overland market, vehicles like this have been in higher demand. These things had some real character.
When I was a kid my parents had a Toyota van like this manual two wheel drive had two sunroofs one electric and one hand crank and also had a refrigerator behind the driver's seat from the factory in the back where the Jack went there was a building air compressor
Correction. The A/C has no intelligence. The A/C system has an idle up diaphragm to compensate for low idle so that you can have A/C at Idle to reduce the load on the engine which you were partially correct in the video. The Idle trigger RPM speed is set by the A/C amplifier to engage the A/C compressor when the idle is raised. The Idle diaphragm and VSV in these systems wears out and as a consequence you do not have A/C at idle because the idle speed set by the a/c amplifier is never attained. My point is the system is not designed to only give you A/C when the vehicle is in motion. If you only have A/C in motion , you have a problem, but I appreciate your B/S cover for why the A/C only works when the vehicle is moving." to protect the engine" lol. People talking out of their butt is so amusing at times
J P. I haven't laughed my @$$ off that hard in such a long time. The more I read your comment, the more I eyes watered. Cheers to you my friend. You made my day. Sincerely yours, RobNoxious.
' i like toyota van so much but front bumper is tooo long nose... that is problem with dip hump or driveway too high ramp... i did put 2 metal wheels under the bumper that help less scratch
Lift up the carpet behind the passenger seat and there's a door with a thumb screw. Use Dextron ATF like the cap on the PS unit says to use. Don' t fret if you use power steering fluid one time to top off.
Not at first glance. We had one some years back that came to us with a hitch. Towed 5 by 10 trailers...heavy. Worked well until one day we noticed someone mounted the hitch to the sheet-metal of the bumper. It would take a bit of fabrication to do it right. @@Forsott
Yes, We didn't brake speed records but we would go on 500 mile trips with a trailer that was over #1500 pounds We since have started using lighter trailers From #660 to #330 (yeah, I actually weighed them) These lighter trailers would work better. @@Forsott
Hi...where can I find one of these to buy? I need a fixer upper so we can carry our things and keep them dry while having good gas milage. living in a rougher environment pretty much means we need a 4 wheel drive. I have a 2004 Toyota Tacoma Base model that I love but is not big enough for the family. Our Tacoma has the small 4 cylinder and gets 22-27mpg depending on the usual things we all encounter. Anyone with a 1987 Toyot DX Van, please contact us via this uTube video. My friend has one with the interior torn out and windows falling out but it seems to turn well with 237,000 miles on it. I don't mind that many miles as long as I possibly get another 100,000 miles from it, which by that time, we should be able to afford a better van or small panel truck or the like. Thanks All! mike & judy
I bought same bur looks different dashboard. Ac doesn't work? Guess mine is very different , it s very noisy . I HAVE leaks need be fixed . It s little bumpy we r driving, steer wheel is not as easy when parking

I used to love my 84 van! I put 170,000 and never let me down.
We have a 72 and are running the wheels off it! Love these things!
The earlier year models had the option of a ladder in the back. That was so cool.
it was not a dealer option. Is an aftermarket.
