@@Doctore_Robert Bob uses a typewriter to make notes for the records. For example, a note might say "late 60's pressing" or "sounds better than it looks". He tapes these notes to the outer sleeve. I keep all of them. His new store is only a few blocks away but is much bigger!
I used to call Bob at Enterprise when I was around 13 (I'm 47 now) and ask for Al Hirt and Si Zentner records. He'd find some, set them aside, I'd send payment and he'd mail them to me. I lived about 80 miles from the store. Very fond memories. Great to see him still at it. Thanks for this!
I’ve bought a bunch of records from Bob. Knowledgeable dude with an awesome selection that changes way more frequently than I thought it would. Have found some gems at this shop! 🤫
When did you make this ? Bob has recently moved his store. I live in Portland and have shopped his store at 4 different locations now. Let me know next time you’re in town. We’ll go digging.
Cool. You are on a vacation in Maine. I left Seattle on a red eye flight after the Sqeeze concert. I am in Aspen, Colorado for the John Denver Celebration. Having a good time here. It's a good thing they don't have a record store here. I am spending enough already 😊. Enjoy the time there, and I hope you find some good records.
@Doctore_Robert Not sure. This is my first time in Aspen. I went to the art museum and busy with all the activities for the John Denver Celebration. There are a lot of musicians performing here.
I love Bob. I’ve been buying records for him for years. And he will flat out yell at customers if they touch the grooves on the record. I’ve seen it first hand. He’s the best!! Hahaha When did you film this? This was the old location. He moved months ago. Cheers, Brian☘️
No just newly uploaded. I wanted to wait until I was fully retired from surgery before I started my channel. 🤷🏻♂️. I have a few more in the can, stay tuned!
his store is now on the lower end of pine street and state he is in the space next to what used to be the treasure chest adult book store since 1971 but that to is gone and now is a hair salon
Hello I bought the hinging tape it was not cheap 50 dollars and repaired 15 records thanks to you. Im from Stockholm and this was fun. To see. Try Arthur Rimbauds Season in hell.... Takecare.....
Ive never been to Maine or even thought much about it but this video makes me feel like ive been dealing with the place myl entire life. If there was a record store featured in On Golden Pond this one would surely be it. Rimbaud bio clips for decoration and Hemry Fonda weilding tape gun with purpose. Is that a plaster Trump mask or Roger Waters hanging on the wall behind our esteemable proprietor?
If you parked on Park St, I hope you made sure to put money on the meter because the meter attendants are f’n relentless on that street: tickets and das boot
You're a good interviewer, Dr Robert, a little patience & a little space & even ppl who won't be interviewed join in - - & a good eye for detail.
Well thank you! All fun!
What a great character! I’d love to stop by someday soon.
Those photo bombs💣💣though
Both of them! 😂
You guys are on your own!
@@Doctore_Robertsays the guy who featured them in the thumbnail. 😂
You’re still on your own!
Bob could be played by John Lithgow. What a great guy. Seeing people light up when talking record collecting is one of the greatest moments
Thanks Elliot. I'm delighted that video has recently got a few more views. Please like and subscribe! :)
Hey, no way! Bob is a national treasure. My favorite local record shop!
I agree it was fun talking to him and the store was cool! He actually gave me one of the R Crumb takeoff cartoons. I have it in my record room now..

Glad you enjoyed it!
I grew up in Portland So this was nice to see. We bought some very cool old Beatles posters there. Many records over the years
Glad you enjoyed!

Good eye! A year ago. May be back. If you are in the NW shout out!
Cool music in the background too 😊

Thank you! This is actually a year ago. Wanted to wait until my retirement to release it😊
Home in Oregon now. Not surprised that aspen lacks a record store. Is there a hunter Thompson museum?

Really enjoyed this MAYBE you guys were thinking of Milford Graves as the drummer on ESP
Thanks for the tip! It was a great visit but almost a year ago. Glad folks are still finding the video!

Yeah it was about a year ago. Wanted to get fully retired before starting the channel
this is his currant location he used to have his shop on the main drag of congress street in town have bought many records from him good shop
Why are old record store owners so fucking cantankerous. Maybe they should try another business 😵💫😎
You know the deal my brother
Agree - everything is an effort...
Ha ha ha! I guess you’ve met enough of them!
It's worked out just fine for Bob!
He's been in business for 35 years. Settle down.
I think Bob would fit right in with Rachel's stream
Arms dealer? How do make a profit after you both arms?
Great taste in baseball teams + headwear, Dr Robert. 💪🏻
Go cards!
Sunny Murray was the drummer!
He needed a little jump start , but he warmed right up to you. I bet if you gave him a martini he might if given up a few more stories. Great stuff.
Thank you. Was looking. Bob said but it may not have been aidible
@@twofromthetrunk9932 Bob has plenty of stories!
For once, the UA-cam algorithm nailed it! I live in Old Orchard Beach, Maine… 20 minutes south of Portland and I shop at Enterprise every so often.
Glad to hear that and glad the video is getting some late attention! Great visit and great store! Please like and subscribe! :)
Wait, this is the old location but new video??

I'm not too far away, I'll need to take a trip up to see Bob and his shop. You never mentioned, what did you buy?
Sorry it’s been a while. Let me look

I can’t reliably answer that! Was a great visit though!
I will ask him next time I'm in the shop!
It looks Greco-Roman to me. 😅

No ticket! 🤷🏽🙏
I saw that guy physically fighting with another bottom feeder on the floor looking at budget LPs
I can’t comment! 😂
I would be the other bottom feeder given half the chance😊
Is that his wife?
🤷🏻♂️
🤷🏻♂️
No
No, his wife is cool as heck, though. She's owned and run multiple shoe stores in Portland.
Enterprise is the greatest record store in Portland.
Loved it!
GTA 3 music in the background.
Good pick up!

Enterprise is dope. Another place is in Corith. Its an untapped gold mine. Thats all im saying.
I didn’t get the chance to dig elsewhere. I did ok though!
Mainers. Go figure 🤔
Are you connected back there?
