Unfortunately, my experiences are much the same as yours. My first Audio Desk had a water pump failure within the warranty period and was replaced. The replacement was dead out of the box. The next replacement worked well for about three years (my cleanings numbered in the hundreds, not the thousands), but the water pump is (again) out. The unit will have to be sent to Germany for repair, though I was given the option for a trade-in. I'm leery about getting another one, and your video adds to that angst. Good review--thanks!

UK covers have always been made in a different way so it is much easier to open out the cover and do a very good repair from inside then glue the cover back together
The Magic Band are possibly the greatest live band I have ever seen.
We were in Paris in Sept 2022. Made it to Paris Jazz Corner, but didn’t have the time to get to SAM Records. Next time for sure ! I heard a story, I think it was Memphis Slim who went to Paris and when he got to the border, the official looked at his passport and said welcome to France, Sir. Memphis Slim said he had never been called Sir in his life and decided then and there this was the place to be. Some great finds you got there. Well done !
I like this shop a lot! Found a few good ones over the years at Long In The Tooth. My personal favorite spots in Philly are Sit & Spin and Creep. That’s if you’re into punk rock 😉
Arms dealer? How do make a profit after you both arms?
Bro with the thumbnail cannons
BB King definitely stopped here -at least once....
Not surprised!
Great video. Been there many times. It’s an experience!
It really is!
Doctor Robert is the most dominant doctor on UA-cam.
That is kind! Thank you!
Used to be in a band that was very much influenced by the Capt. and his Magic Band. I'll never forget the time we nailed Kandy Korn. We were hooting and hollering like banshees! It took a dozen or so stabs at it, as it's not a conventional song, to say the least. The Magic Band had some of the best names for the members....the Mascara Snake, Zoot Horn Rollo, and of course, Drumbo.
Great story. John French was very friendly. Hoping I get to spend time with him again!
I had the same feeling, no evidence of ultrasonic activity on the one I tried.
Did you do the cavitation test? I will be in touch with with them as my machine went down again. 4th one I’ve warm out!
@@Doctore_Robert Also seen on several forums doubts have been raised about the validity of the "ultrasonic" claims. Back to the good old Knosti Disco-Antistat for me.

He’s great!

If you parked on Park St, I hope you made sure to put money on the meter because the meter attendants are f’n relentless on that street: tickets and das boot
No ticket! 🤷🏽🙏
Enterprise is dope. Another place is in Corith. Its an untapped gold mine. Thats all im saying.
I didn’t get the chance to dig elsewhere. I did ok though!
Enjoy the "D" Doc!!!
Bob could be played by John Lithgow. What a great guy. Seeing people light up when talking record collecting is one of the greatest moments

thanks for the interviews, i never have the time or nerve to do that properly in the shops. interesting to see so much floor space dedicated to CDs, still popular apparently. cheers alex

Doctor, thank you so much for featuring Fred, running the Sam's as a one man business with most passion an dedication, him the most humble soul. 🎉 Nice interview. When I travelled Paris I could not make it to his shop as I could not make opening hours. Cheers from Germany Klaus
Thanks Klaus! Inteviewing Fred was one of the highlights of the trip! Please do subscribe! I am thinking of going to the big record show in the Netherlands this year, do you attend that?
Awsome trip, Doctor.
Awesome Doc, Enjoy!!!
Thanks Robbie! Planning to visit Detroit after Thanksgiving, the Lions have the Packers for Thursday night football...
Nice haul Dr Robert. Between Bowie, Drake Cream, Feelgood, Squeeze, Zep, and others. A nice collection of UK pressings indeed.By the way does the "Diamond Dogs" album have the rude cover? Love Feelgood's "Stupidity" album. With as Bob says, Wilco on guitar. Julie Covington burst onto the scene in the UK, appearing on an ITV show called "Rock Follies". '1976-77? Basically it was about a trio of female singers, carving out a career in the rock music world. Go figure! She was the only real singer in the series, and so was picked to sing on Lloyd Webber and Time Rice's album version of Evita. From which she sang the classic "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" which was a No1 hit single in the Uk in 78? But strangely chose not to appear in the stage show. She also guested on "Jeff Wayne's War of the World's" album again from '78, and had a UK singles hit, covering Cooper's "Only Women Bleed". Sort of disappeared from view and more into obscurity in the 80's and going forward sadly. As you can probably hear from that album, she has a fantastic, powerful, and emotive voice.Or did have! Hope you enjoy your UK haul! Enjoyed the video, and it answered perfectly my question I posed in the chat on Steve (Westman's) show this evening.Hope the UK custom's people were kind about the export of the vinyl, and you didn't have to pay any duties.
Thanks Mac! If that's what you go by? Sorry if I am forgetting your real name! The trip was really great and went remarkably smoothly! No duties requested, though we did have to buy a new suitcase to haul record purchases home! :)
And thanks for the details re: Julie Covington. I looked her up on Wikipedia, remarkable talent and career!
@@Doctore_Robert "Mac" is fine by me.
Dr Feelgoods first guitarist was Wilco Johnson.

Thanks both of you! Was unabl,e to remember in the moment, agree he was/is a great guitarist!
Great Video Dr Robert. thumbs up! Trish
Well thank you Trish!
I went to the Paris Jazz Corner about 20 years ago but if I remember well it wasn’t name like that at the time.I even went back ten years later and it was close. But I remember that place very well with the cd’s in the basement with an incredible choice.I think it’s right in front of the Arène de Lutèce where my wife took a long nap waiting for me.
Ha ha ha! Your wife must be very patient, like mine! Please hit subscribe if you haven't already!
When you get a tear, there's that outer layer of cover paper that needs to be aligned and pressed down to smooth out the tear on the outside. I don't quite see how only working from the inside gets this done..
Well...I dont know! But it does usually work quite nicely! To try it yoiu would need to buy the hinging tape, which is not a huge expense but I don't know of another product that would be cheaper. LMK if you proceed! And please hit subscribe! :)
You make a very good point Doctor Robert. Something I never realized about myself.Since my brother found my long lost vinyl collection only recently, I never realized just how many full (pretty much full) collections I had of different artists.Certainly was a creature of habit! Only now I am beginning to see how that pattern emerged. Not necessarily conscious decision on my matter, but there you are! And that is after working for many of the big record outlets i.e. Virgin Uk Virgin US, HMV, and having access to much. And yet I still unconsciously focused on collections. I think that brands me a "completist"? Thanks for that cool observation. I Thank God I didn't get into Elvis in a big way! Will definitely check out that compilation."Stay Awake"? All star cast for sure! You might yet, get me into jazz in a big way! Dipping my toe in to the water with my Steely Dan/Donald Fagen collection, but not dared venture into the deep end. Yet! Enjoyed the videos, keep em coming! By the way any videos of you visiting any record stores in merry old England? I may have to revisit again soon one day, to go round these old classic vinyl establishments. If they're still there of course! Hope your trip to Europe and of course the Safari was a blast! Regards to "Mrs Doctor Doctor"!
Thanks again man, appreciate your support!
For once, the UA-cam algorithm nailed it! I live in Old Orchard Beach, Maine… 20 minutes south of Portland and I shop at Enterprise every so often.
Glad to hear that and glad the video is getting some late attention! Great visit and great store! Please like and subscribe! :)
I used to call Bob at Enterprise when I was around 13 (I'm 47 now) and ask for Al Hirt and Si Zentner records. He'd find some, set them aside, I'd send payment and he'd mail them to me. I lived about 80 miles from the store. Very fond memories. Great to see him still at it. Thanks for this!
