The first tower is so awsome!
Your mention’s of Kharkiv and other Ukraine destinations are heartbreaking…you’ve done a great job of documenting what was 😪
I like the old relay lift, with a card reader and some sort of access control added to the old logic.
What a really cool city! Definitely going to visit someday.
I live in this city
That first tower block looks rather to me like the "Jenga towers" at the Westbury estate in Wandsworth.
Hope you enjoyed my city. Its nice to see it on yt:)
Looks a fantastic place. Yes, that tower block is epic. Great selection of really old lifts. That floating one is really unusual. I've never seen one like that before. I like the look of your hotel room. Cool with the records on the wall, and the giant cassette tape. Bottle of piss 😁
Open lift shafts are awesome
Seems that in the UK (and here in Australia too for the most part) most Brutalist buildings are automatically labeled as "ugly" by people who don't know the first thing about architecture and then councils and greedy developers rip it all out and replace it with crap.
It happens in the US too, although brutalist architecture was never particularly common here in the first place. Point being, what little brutalism we have in the US is far too often dismissed as an "eyesore" and ripped down by developers who see it as "outdated."
@@IVR02 It probably doesn't help that a lot of the Brutalist architecture being torn down in these places was built on the cheap and is suffering from concrete cancer, asbestos issues, plumbing and wiring that isn't up to snuff anymore etc.
In many European countries that have been on the east side of the former iron curtain, brutalism remembers you of the soviet times and communism, because so many buildings were build that way back then. This is why those buildings are consideres ugly, at last for that part of the world. They bring back not-so-good memories basically
Hi, Slovak here. Kosice is pronounced Ko-shi-ce
Haha nice!
The old lifts with hinged doors you filmed are some absolutely EPIC Swedish ASEA-Graham lifts! Really like to see them in such an original state, even the ones in the tower block only seem to be refurbished. You'll hardly find something like that in Sweden nowadays!
Not exactly Swedish, they were manufactured here by the no longer existing Elevator Factory in Sofia (their former building is currently used as a TV tower) under Swedish license by Asea. Most of the parts were made here, and only a fraction of them were imported.
They are made in Sofia lift factory. We still actually make lifts, sadly most of them are pretty low quality.
I bet they turned off da music to prevent crowds from forming due to the pandemic as a attempt to decrease the risk of spreading the virus
9:53 that one oily lift motor
Well, there is a difference between Schindler 3300 and 5500 that's noticable for passengers, but only for those who have a little bit of knowledge about elevators ... I mean, look at the fixtures, listen to the motor sound ...
Oh nooo you missed the Gipsy ghetto
Very interesting, the 5500 has the cheaper and worse 3300 display
You should do a cheap flight adventure to Skopje, North Macedonia, i think it'll be a great video!
Could you reboot wheelie bin is hungry?
WHEELIE BIN IS HUNGRY
IT NEEDS FEEDING!
😂😂
BENO i actually Live in Plovdiv.
Have you ever thought about travelling to the Pridnestovan Moldovan Republic (Official name of Transnistria, a "breakaway republic" of Moldova since ~1991) or to Tibilisi, Georgia? I've heard that both of these 2 "cities"/"countries" are pretty cool, well if you like communist insignia that is...
Moldova and Transnistria look very interesting to explore. Tibilisi also looks very interesting.
NEW VIDEO???? I DIDNT SEE IT

Do You Have Bulgarian Lev?
I couldn't understand anything in Bulgarian, it seems it quite different to typical Slavic language.
I didn't withdraw any Bulgarian Lev as card acceptance in Bulgarian has improved since my last visit.

To me that is small
Opening to Cheap flight adventure to Plovdiv 2022 UK DVD
The name Plovdiv does sound very strange. Very concrete and more industrial. And yes Ukraine is still fighting with Russia. Which is why Ukraine should win the war.
