two sets of throttle body linkages must be interesting to synchronise. I know these first LH-Jetronic m120's had left and right EZL's but did they also have a left and right injection ECU too or just one? Suspect early 90's technology would be stretched to the limit managing a V12 if a single unit.
From what I know they had a left and right ECU also. I'm still trying to figure out the cost difference between acquiring all the missing parts vs buying a junk 600SEL vs completely aftermarket parts like standalone computer or ITBs.
@@FriendlyMBTech for me it would be a no brainer - standalone all the way. It would be simpler and easier to tune. Late m120 also came with the 722.6 - this would be my choice too also with stand alone controller.
@MMWA this is a 1992 M120. I was planning on using my stock transmission and not beating the crap put of it. It wouldn't need a separate computer since it's vacuum controlled. I would like to use all factory MB stuff just to be able to show how to do it that way but we will see how it works out.
@@FriendlyMBTech there was a company making one for the Gtrs. I think it was 6k if I remember correctly. But it would be so much more worth it on this engine especially if the Manifold is closer or is 30lbs. That would bring it under 600lbs. I think this engine is around 605-610lbs so it weighs less that a Rb or 2jz but cutting weight off the front end would be major if there are stronger lightweight parts that can be made. Even if their expensive
you are the best around Nothing is ever going to keep you down!!! First the m119 and now the m120. THIS IS AMAAAAAAZING. The community LOVES YOU
Thank you very much!
Merry Christmas Dear Boy! 🎄
I’m happy to see another upcoming project! How is the M119 running?
Merry Christmas to you too your Highness! The M119 is running fantastic! I couldn't be happier with it.
@@FriendlyMBTech That’s great!

Thank you for your reply. Do you know if you have to remove the cylinder heads to access the knock sensors?
I'm sorry I missed your question. No you don't have to remove the cylinder heads. Just the manifold and the manifold adapter if your engine has one.
Is there a vacuum hose in the valley under the intake. I heard there is one there that breaks over time
On this specific engine, there wasn't. I also didn't remove it from the car, though. There was a breather tube in there but no vacuum hose.
Very interesting, Can you say me, where the nocksensors are? My M120 has four and there are failures. Thanks and much greetings.
You're very welcome. The knock sensors are located in the valley of the engine between the cylinder heads.

Looks great!
Thank you!
How much does that intake weigh?
I'd say at least a good 20lbs.
@@FriendlyMBTech would love for a company to make a Prepeg autoclave carbon or carbon/kevlar version. Not Siebon lol.
@@mikelmarion or at least a 3d printed version that weighs way less. I can't imagine how much a carbon version would cost.

Also, 3d printed titanium is becoming more common now. As is Iconell
