I want my car tricked out like Knight Rider.. I don't like all that Gaudy garbage but I'm a huge techie.. if I could tap a button on my phone and tell my car to pull up out front and it would do so I'd be tickled pink. Maybe some extra lighting in the trim to make me more visible at night, other than that I'm happy with a plain old Celica that'll keep going and going for a million plus miles with no flashy frills.

Scotty, bonus stupid mod: Blacked out taillights. Some are so dark, you can't tell if their brakelights are on or if they're signaling.
Some of them claim that their mod tail lights can be seen half of mile away but oh no, it's daytime and naked eyes environment. Try to c 'em at night time or with ur sunglasses on ur face, those are all black out. Idk if their ignorant brains can comprehend the real life situations or they just whatever they want until a cop pulls them over and gives them ticket or some.
Especially when the sun is behind you and the car in front has the really dark tinted taillights. The light smoked out taillights are fine though and look nice on some vehicles.
Haven't seen this in New York. Sounds ridiculous.
The taillights I ordered for my car are already blacked out but not with any sort of cheap window tint. They also use LEDs for the brakes, running lights, reverse, and turn signals. I'd say those are fine.
The really dark blacked out ones are bad though.
Back in the day, we didn't have LED tail lights so it was worse.

I love seeing trucks raised where you need a ladder to get it in, but the ground clearance is still 12 inches from the axle.
Exactly, as the proper mod is too expensive ,some height can be a preference to suit the driver or up to a point the approach and departure angles when off road,nevertheless as in anything excess never fails with humans,cannot quite recall the name but an axiom (?) diff is the way to go to really gain significant ground clearance.

You didn't mention the super bright led light bars on pick up trucks and jeeps which are meant for off roading but people don't care and blind other drivers. Or using led light bulbs on regular older cars without changing the housing so they reflect light everywhere.

The only thing I use led light bars, is for the plow truck. I put it on the rear bumper, and it is relay controlled to the reverse lights. Most factory reverse lights are worthless for snowplowing, as you end up backing up in tight locations at night time, and your bound to hit something due to poor lighting. This is about the only single acceptable reason for using a light bar, for specialty applications where visibility and lighting up the work area is essential.
@@davidplaster4576 Stock reverse lights being those tiny little halogen bulbs are absolutely useless. I did the same thing, two LED pods mounted in the bumper run off a relay wired to the reverse lights. Much better for visibility, only other situation I'd say may be okay is LED lights run off the high beams, as long as you shut off your high beams long before a car is in your sight I don't see the harm in it. You always gotta check your state laws for things like this, just to be safe I always take the fuse out of my reverse pod lights before inspection.

Back in '96 I was at Walmart and parked next to me was a Ram PU with nuts hanging from the trailer hitch. I cut them off and put them on the wind shield with a note saying " castrated by a Chevy!"

I have the limo tint on one of my vehicles but I live in AZ and it helps a ton. Also, if you have any windows tinted, it's polite and good idea to roll down all windows when a police officer pulls you over. Makes them more comfortable being able to see everyone in the vehicle.
It's my vehicle, they don't need to see or know who's in my private property.

Window tint helps reducing overheating of the car's interior in a hot weather, thus, saves on air conditioning. It also serves the safety purpose by stopping the glass fragments from flying into your face if the window shatters during an impact.
So usefull and safety adding, yet still ilogically ilegall in some countries.
It also helps getting away from awkward eye contact situations
Not to mention that (some) tint protects from UV rays which can cause skin cancer and premature skin aging

Something I just thought of for scissor doors that many may not have thought of-
They actually may be spectacular for shitty parking, like when two clowns park basically against your car's sides.
Now, you can just lift the door (mostly) up, and squeeze out without worrying about the door hitting anything.
Perhaps a dual action system would be great, regular door opening, and optional scissor opening for tight spots!

Makes sense with some crappy makes though, lol. But seriously though, I've seen trucks, even 4x4s, driven carefully over bumps. I can see it if you're borrowing it, maybe, I do drive other people's cars more carefully than my own.
When I had my F150 4X4, there's one shopping center here where of you dont take the right turn out of there way wide, you'll hop off the curb. Used to do it all the time in my truck, just saying a casual "whoops" when I did. Never hurt the truck, it had a small bit of lift (nothing crazy, just maybe 3 inches) and the AT tires with nice fat sidewalls.
@mike brink I never understood chrome plating parts that aren't seen. Stock mufflers for me and skid plates so I never worried about bumps.

i hear you scotty but tints(WHEN HONEST LAW ABIDING PEOPLE HAVE THEM INSTALLED ON THEIR CAR) helps to decrease the possibility of thieves trying to break into your car or take it from you. if thieves cant see who or what is in the car they dont even bother. ive heard MANY stories where tints have saved peoples lives and property.
I beg to differ in some points:
1- Scissor doors are useful in narrow parking spaces.
2- Spoilers aren't stupid, just aesthetic (when not exaggerated). Some people like it, others don't.
3- Tint is a necessity here in the Caribbean (of course, not totally dark)
Window tint use to be enforced. Now the cops tint the darkest %

Tedro Peders lmao in my state the cops and judges are the one’s with window tint and anybody else gets fined. You should see the undercover cars. Blacked out, all tinted windows, break lights tinted and even some have their windshield tinted. It makes their undercover cars not so undercover 😂

Probably useful on those old carburetor vehicles with the big air cleaner under the hood exposed to heat. Not much use on something that pull air from outside the engine bay unless it's like a Subaru with the hood scoop feeding the top mounted intercooler or like my old car that had exposed aftermarket headers which I never got the chance to fab up a vented hood that can direct water while venting the excessive heat.

Hub cap extenders used to be illegal in Massachusetts because pedestrians got hurt.
One factory thing like this they made illegal were things sticking off the center of the steering wheel. Chryslers used to have their logo sticking out of the steering wheel and people got impaled on them.

When I was selling cars ...20yrs ago....It was NOT legal to re-sell your car after it had been raised or lowered without selling it as having POSSIBLE FRAME DAMAGE because of the adverse stresses put ON the car when altered. EVERY SINGLE car that is lowered to nearly scrape and every vehicle LIFTED even a little either way ...was potentially frame damaged. For many ,if the law were followed,it would be tough to get rid of the vehicle.

i agree with all of em, except the window tint. It's not dangerous for me and it helps keep TONS of sunlight out of the car, keeping me much cooler in the summer, as well as helping to protect my interior from sun damage. every state is different with tint laws.

My stepson put 26 inch rims and thin sidewall tires on his 2015 Ram 1500. 2 months later he had 2 bent rims from hitting a hole. Luckily he kept his stock 20 inch rims and tires. Waste of money.

pro tip: if you dont want to be pulled over *aggressively*, keep your tint at a minimum that people can sorta see through.
when your tint is Limo, who knows what you have back there. But if your tint is less, just enough to show some dark figures, it could put more Officers at ease when they approach you

@@LThill-ks2uz technically they're not but I have them and IDC. I only use them when I can't even see another car, halogen lows HID brights. No joke they light up both sides of a divided highway for half to 3/4 of a mile. That's why my car has 2 headlight settings "you can't see anything" and "it's daylight now"
This is why you get tinting. My windshield and windows are tinted. No longer an issue. Laws be damned, they aren't enforced around here.

I have tinted the windows on most of my cars. My current car came with very good tint from the factory so I didn’t have to mess with it on this one but I live in Houston and darker tint really does help to keep the car cooler in the summer. Granted, it does make it more difficult to back out of certain areas. Particularly at night. I never installed tint for the purposes of hiding myself or anything else. It was always purely to keep the sun at bay.
When I had tint on my windows everytime I got pulled over I just rolled all the windows down.
Regarding the tinting issue, I've always been very self conscious of it when I've been pulled over, and as I'm still pulling my car over before we have even stopped I have rolled all of my windows down so the officer can clearly see in my vehicle. Not everyone thinks that way though, so I definitely understand your point as how that could be dangerous for your average person.
I dont roll down all 4, but i cut my interior lights on bright and roll my driver and passenger down so the officer can clearly see me, and is more comfortable. They have a hard job, so I just try to make it easier if i get stopped.
I've driven close to four hundred thousand kilometres over twenty five years and I've been pulled over three times, and one of those was because they were looking for someone else.

I am 100% in agreement on the side window tint. There is no reason the driver's identity and activities should be hidden on a public street. It used to be outlawed in California but, now a certain tint is allowed and scofflaws black them out to stay invisible. Get the off the road; it should be a Federal safety standard like seat belts. Only criminals need to hide.
