Franz Heinzer downhill gold (WCS Saalbach 1991)

Swiss skiers were dominating 1991 World Championships downhill in Saalbach-Hinterglemm. Gold was won by Franz Heinzer ahead of Italian Peter Runggaldier (+0.25) and teammate Daniel Mahrer (+0.66). Another big favorite for the title, Austrian Helmut Höflehner made a huge mistake in the starting house and wasted his chances for the medal

Hermann Renfer Wie wahr! Super Typ der Schwyzer, aber Höfi wäre an dem Tag unschlagbar gewesen, deshalb bleibt ein bitterer Beigeschmack! Es war Höfis Strecke, Skier, Kurven, Publikum...... Denke aber heute ist das alles so ziemlich vergessen

last year and 2016 there were races and they alternate for downhill events. and saalbach has a bid for a future world championship
