Mike, CS could improve, but there are solutions to fixing cameras not working. If you continue to have problems, we're happy to provide some resources we have
They have done it for me once. I had to put new batteries in it, and it took forever with the helpdesk. Customer service on hold and waiting for the software to load over the cell-network takes longer.
Thanks for the video. Just as another point of view....It pays to keep a supply of SD Cards and mini SD cards on hand. The cards have a shelf life and if you need to run a firmware update, you can load it onto the spare cards and just swap the cards at the camera without taking your laptop with you. Just make sure that your extra cards are all capatable with the cameras and that you perform the long version of the reformatting. Lessons learned after having too many cameras do exactly what you are talking about. Thank you and good luck.
I just subscribed. Your video was short and to the point. I'm setting up my 2 cameras tomorrow morning or tonight if I find out that they have weekend & night hours. Thanks for the 411.
@@FallObsession my 1st 2 cameras are amazing and customer service has been great answering my questions! Have you ever used the cell link & have you ever used electrical power through with 12 volt adapters? Thanks in advance.
@@FallObsession I've found out that you can run the cameras off of electricity! When I called customer service they said they recommend high quality AA batteries, but I'm using the cameras INSIDE instead of Ring & other home security DIY I've noticed is that the battery strength on the app is totally false, because I was running a camera off electricity. Also the app was showing Zero-0 data on the sd cards and that was false, because all of the cards were filled with pictures when I put them in my laptop. A couple times I had alot of false triggers, but customer service helped me, so I'm completely satisfied with the 4 cameras that I have.
Food for thought recorded the tech telling me when you down load the new files to your SD card and insert it and the camera goes through the boot up process u have to make sure you leave the camera on for 24 hours just point it at the wall then in 24 hours turn it off then back on?? She said she don't know y they allow these videos to air with this miss information?? Keep the recording. Thought you would find that interesting.
Been trying to update my firmware for over 2 days . 3 chats and 2 phone calls to Spypoint still no good . Support is sourced out to Asia . I can barely understand the person on the phone . Switching to Moultrie
No you shouldn't have to put up with this there product should work out of the box with no problem thats what they advertise time they do what they say automatically

@@keving2371 as Sam mentions, download the latest firmware version from SpyPoint's website to your computer, and after reformatting your SD card, simply remove the files from their "zip" folder on the computer and drag them onto your memory card. Once you insert it back into your camera and turn the camera on, the reformat will begin.
Thank you for explaining this. We have done numerous text chats with Spypoint to no avail. They must be idiots working there. Customer service is HORRIBLE....! What gets me is when these cameras stop working, we have to drive hours to the hunt club. Walk and walk to the remote area where the camera is. Take it home. DO the updates. Drive back to the club. Walk and walk to where the camera once was. That is not easy or fun. With the cost of fuel and NOT including time, it is about the same price as a new camera....!!! This is definitely an issue that needs to be corrected and fixed on their end. Why couldn't they elect to have an option where they can do an automatic update?
Hey Brian, so that technology is coming. SpyPoint's new FLEX camera allows you to do remote updates without access to the camera. Cell cams is a quickly changing and evolving technology in the hunting industry for sure!
Have to keep in mind that the designers of these cameras are engineers and not hunters. Otherwise, once you put a camera up, you would never have to touch it except for to change the batteries. They don't understand the importance of creating an environment of low pressure and minimal scent.
Even if you have the ability to upload new firmware automatically (FLEX,I have 4 of them) you still have an issue that can't be solved is the battery life, firmware uploads take lots of juice if you have a weak signal, thats why they recommend you do firmware updates at home. And Spypoint is coming out with two more new cameras for summer 2023....FLEX Solar and the LM2....I have been using 12 cameras over the last 5 years from spypoint and have no issues at all. Most issues are user error.
That explained nothing. How do you update firmware???????? Ya doing a fat32 long format if fine. But thats not firmware. Ive checked their website no option for link micro lte.
Once or twice a yr my ass! They're great until the next firmware update. Save yourselves the frustration, go with a different brand. There are others nowhere near this complicated & that do not charge for each camera.
Bro, good info. But quit MOVING around I need dramamine 🤢
Thanks for the info but would've been better just to do the update on a video. Also mount your phone so there's not so much movement.
Thanks brother mine stopped working. I like em but customer service sucks

They do work out of the box by itself. It’s just how to update the camera itself when it is out of date
Where the hell can you find the links to the firmware updates,

Just go to spypoint Help, they have all the videos there...
Too much work.. the app should be able to handle all this
I'll never buy a spypoint again. Worst camera ever
Show us how!!!

So easy but know shows how to do it😂
