I started to learn djing in NY in 1978. 1980 family relocated to Florida and I got hired in 1982 at a skating rink, then onto nightclubs etc. the rest is history. Now I’m only mobile. Sometimes not just a DJ hating or bad mouthing other DJ's, sometimes the people or groups that follow their DJs, there are also those haters that pretends to be OK with you but the moment you turn your back it's a different story, literally, they will make their own story.
In Scotland, we have the exact same issues. People wanting things instantly!! It's sad how some want control all the time and make a scene when it's refused. Poor behaviour really.
I find that the biggest haters of DJs are actually other DJs LOL heaven forbid someone is more talented than them or just different or cool. By and far as someone who came from the rock world first k never noticed musicians harder on each other than DJs to a point of exhaustion. Rock bands can go on tour together most DJs can’t LOL
Dj Robo here. Long time no see! I look at it like this Bri. Opinions are like assholes, everyone has got one and they are usually full of shit. There are over 360 million people in the US. If 5000 people on twitter decide to cancel someone, that is 0.001% of the population. The haters are always the extreme minority and the majority needs to quit bending or worrying about people that do not matter. People also put on their keyboard googles and become brave at typing what they would never have the guts to say in person. These people are usually unhappy in their lives and have to bring other people along down to their level to get a reaction. I pay no attention whatsoever to this and always do my own research to form my own opinion if I do not agree with what a person says right off the bat. Sometimes we agree, if we don't, they can go "bye Felicia!"
as a blind dj and percussionist i have also received hate over the years and your video is an exhalent way to deal with the haters but sadly there will always be haters in this crazy world. i will leave it to your imagination as to the type of hate and dis i have resaved through the years. Keep going good sire i for one think your a top guy to share this with the world
Well said sir, I've just tuned into your videos a few days ago. I did your videos and your conversations about vinyl. I love your disco collection too. That's my thing right there. I love disco keep up the good work and thank you for everything and don't let negative people stop what you're doing. I've been on countless times and closed my accounts because of bullies and I'm hoping that the future will be easier.
My haters here in Tokyo are the vinyl purists, they come around flashing their newly purchased records at me. Mfrs just don't know that I've been in the dance scene since 1980. 1978, if you count my punk rock days, punk and new wave were very danceable. Those haters will never know how to rock a punk or ska set, their minds and bodies are MIDI Locked.

I Get Tuns of Hate here on UA-cam from Other DJs with my Them Making Fun of my setup and How I Mix and all the Hate I Get stresses me out and makes me look bad as a DJ that I'm not Trying hard enough. your right I don't need to Focus on the hate but focus on all the supporters I have on my Channel who love my videos and what I do
I feel sad that you have to encounter hater's comments. You just have a nice real video that is so non-offensive how on earth can they not see that. I kinda feel sorry for them. Obviously, very bored sad individuals who have nothing better to do. Never understood why if people don't like somebody they don't just unsubscribe and move on. Too much time on their hands staring at their navels and picking lint out of it. I like your videos and to be honest I like and truly admire your attitude. What you can do with one hand most people can't do with 2. How you have overcome and moved onwards and upwards is quite inspirational. Move right over those haters, you have 100x the character they do. Thanks for always taking the time to do these videos and sharing them.
Keep in mind the dislike button is also used to train your personal algorithm and fine tune your suggested video feed. It doesn’t always mean they actually dislike the video or are intentionally voting it down. I have just one thing to say to the haters, though: Thanks for watching!
If someone is watching & disliking your videos, thank them for helping increase your UA-cam views & interactions. Some people enjoy triggering others and making them hateful.
3:48 I will give you my opinion of the hate thing. As humans we are not born into this world to be loving and get along with all of your 30 family members, 20 friends and 10 collegues. We are born to always be cautious and bred for survival. If we are loving and caring -- our chances of survival (actually living) would go down. Slaughtering everything in your path, finding a mate and breeding is what our core is. Some humans are less diplomatic in their approach (even during our lifetimes) and will always hate, especially when their prey is right. The mentality is take them down until they are no longer breathing even if you like actually like them a little bit. I hope i dont sound like a deranged person lol -- Then we have trolls who like to see a little bit of chaos in a calm situation. I swear i can write a 120 page topic on this but hopefully i quickly summarized it? Keep on rockin brotha!
I’ve never come across haters but you may get people briefing against you, usually other DJs! If your customers and venues like you, life’s too short to get involved.
11th street, where you can get a new car stereo and window tint and a bacon wrapped hot dog and some churros while you roll down the street a 1/4 mile long.
Had it a couple of times, right from the set up one guy is taking digs, complaining and asking for random tunes. Trying their best to have a bad night. Used to put me off big time, but be polite and look to please everyone else as if this guy wasn't there.
Some people see with their eyes closed. I think having ideas that we think differently about actually makes for a better friendship. Plus we can learn from their ideas. Great video @briansredd
