2 photographers with very different photographic approaches, very different teaching styles and different personalities who both create wonderful flower photos. Great tutorial.
As a beginner in Macro photography, with a strong interest in flowers, I found this a fascinating study of all the different ways to look at flowers. Really inspiring, and good explanations of how each effect was created. I have a large flowering garden of my own to start with. Just waiting on my first macro lens and itching to get started as the fruit trees are now in bloom. Thanks for posting, I found this really helpful.
+Cas Lynn I see exactly what your seeing as far as different angles and techniques. But dont expect perfect photos when you go out. I am finding everytime I shoot flowers that it gets tougher. I like to bring my flowers inside myself and that way your not having to fight the Winds, which never hardly show up until you start trying to take photos of the beautiful flowers that you have always loved
Cathy McDougall you don’t need a macro lens. If you have a 50mm buy the attachment so you can reverse it. I shoot with the new 300mm f4 lens that Nikon came out with.
Just came across this video. Fabulous photos. I also love to photograph the backs of flowers as sometimes there is so much detail on the back the you never see on the front.
Thanks you! Love this session specially the explosion of creative ideas to try out, towards the end. I wish a little more was discussed on technicality of getting the macro pics.
Fantastic video. Loved every moment and learned so much. Just wish it wasn’t a snowstorm outside and no flowers. Denise where do I get your eBook and the free texture overlays? Thanks!
Really great video...I learned so much! AND, the examples you gave were awesome as it made me think about ways I should think outside of the box as far as looking at flowers and photographing them! Thanks so much!
Denise, I am inspired by your photography and am interested in attending one of your workshops, but I get an error every time i click on the workshops link on your websites. Can you provide a working URL please? Thanks!
This was really neat! Thank you for giving this presentation. I like the idea of using a small reflector instead of flash, and I'm also glad that you were as enthusiastic as you were for shooting in cloudy conditions, foggy condition, etc.
Not the usual quality training video I am accustomed to seeing from B&H. Started with out introductions and in the middle of an explanation, and the video ends just as abruptly. Other than the above, it was an educational experience.
I'm still new to photography, I use a canon body, shooting in RAW. I have difficulty capturing red flowers; it seems really challenging to get the reds to come out right in post processing. Any advice on that?
+TheMIMEOFGOD Any RAW photo will have to undergo some kind of processing, be basic adjustment or heavy manipulation. The degree to which the presented images are adjusted will vary and is up the discretion of the photographer.
+TheMIMEOFGOD 0% I guarentee you that my friend. I promise you there is no way there is any of them that are straight out of the camera. I liked some parts of this tutorial they are giving and I think I can use some of their techniques but some of the flowers they are shooting or a part of the flower is plum ugly to me. But this is just my opinion.
Im an amateur photographer and never went to any school just went in there I have some shots actually better than theirs although they know what their doing and most of them are really good. I think they didn't cover a topic about flowers and bugs together. My Photographs can be seen in my facebook page the name is Moment Collector feel free to browse and Like is much appreciated.
I just love Denise's photography and her presentation.

A masterpiece. Thanks, Denise, Arthur.
This is my 5th time watching this video. Every time I watch it I learn something new. Keep up the great work.

Thank you
No boring intro ME ME!all about the art, inspiring wonderfull images, THANK YOU
I loved this. Best video from B&H. Truly artistic - not just talking about the technical aspects. Getting a macro lens today!
Thanks you! Love this session specially the explosion of creative ideas to try out, towards the end. I wish a little more was discussed on technicality of getting the macro pics.
26:22 I trust the viewfinder to tell me whether I have detail. Not whether the exposure is good.
Beautiful flowers, photos, and amazing lessons. I will study my macro lens and re-watch this numerous times I'm sure! Thank you!!!
Your flower photos are beautiful 👍
Amazing speakers! Love their bird photo one as well!

Not the usual quality training video I am accustomed to seeing from B&H.

What do you do during windy conditions where the flower is moving back and forth?
Stabilize the flower with clips
I go to a local public flower garden. I got some awesome ideas, but it is raining now and will be for two days.
Excuse my ignorance in advance, but I have seen Arthur as the no:1 bird photographer so judge my surprise when this video dropped!

Please feel free to send an email to askbh@bhphoto.com for further assistance with this.
How did you create the feel of the white daisy at 28 minutes? Thanks!
Great presentation and very inspiring.
Very creative!!!
Every time he says next, I imagine her walking over to him with that Macbook and breaking it off his mouth.
This makes me want to go find books about contemporary photography and concept.
the photos are all edited.. thats why are so good.
As you click your shutter,so you edit reality 🌝
Great pics
Ugh the way he barks commands at her!!!
He's not talking to her, he's talking to the person operating the OHP. But right right. It doesn't sound very nice.
Thank you for the inspirations :)
Denise , you looks like Joni Mitchel the Canadian70,s song writer!
beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
Suggestion to viewers, watch at 1.5x speed.
I love Denise’s work Also Artie is good Love their bird photography and Wildlife is extraordinary
really enjoyed this, thank you!!
Awesome
I really thought that I would make it to the end without hearing Boskie but it wasn't to be!
I've watched this 3 times
That dude must have been freezing since he needed to have his hood up.
the other folks are wearing winter jackets.......
What percentage of these are out of camera?
+TheMIMEOFGOD Any RAW photo will have to undergo some kind of processing, be basic adjustment or heavy manipulation. The degree to which the presented images are adjusted will vary and is up the discretion of the photographer.

Why is this important?
Should have shown all settings with each pic.
Settings don't help with creativity. Get out and experiment and you will find which settings help achieve the looks you like!!
Very interesting, thank you !! :-) JF
ZZZZZZZZZZZZ...... OMG..... ARE YOU COLD. DENISE NEEDS TO HANG WITH MORE FUN PEOPLE....
I really like Flowers Almost in every Channel I have a lot of flowers. Let's be friends
"Keukenhof" :D I love how you guys pronounce it XD
how is it pronounced?
She's not giving any information on teaching how to take the shot. She's introducing the flower itself. He's actually teaching.
She does workshops and has an ebook. Wants to sell those. This video is like a teaser, IMO. I agree, Art has given more useful info.
I found her to give great information. Pay attention and learn.
Can this be edited so he doesn't speak?
And what's with the hoody and looking like a punk, is he a teenager or a senior citizen?
+S Visser Maybe it's cold in that room? You know how Americans love to have freezing air conditioning. Anyway, better focus on the flowers.
Why wouldn't everyone want to have freezing AC?
S Visser who says something so mean! Bully! Nobody likes a mean person!
I enjoy him
This video would be so much better if the arrogant guy wasn't in it
What a poisonous attitude you have.
xwhite2020 as we sow,so we reap🌝
Come on, stop interrupting her!
I saw this guy for a workshop on bird photography. While he is quite a fine photographer he is annoying with the data comments.
Is that Jesse Ventura? LOL!
To me this is bunch of snapshots..
+Tomas Ramoska And then a load of snapshots with some really dodgy late 90s/early 2000s effects
Tomas Ramoska I'd love to see your body of work since you feel your shots are that much better.
get over your watermarks . great photos otherwise

Better,what does that mean?
