I always wanted to make films, just holding a camera. but two years ago I was abused by my partner.
after that I was miss treated medically and from then I have had multiple psychotic panic attacks a day and visually hallucinate 24/7.
Its hard to have a go go go mentality from then on, I cant work, drive, etc. I tried starting a gofundme to be able to make movies about mental health to help others but not many donated.
from here on out its hard to make dreams work but one day im going to make it work so i can help others.
and this video just shining light on mental health is amazing.

Stimulants like caffeine also don't help with anxiety/panic attacks.. as much as I love coffee i had to put it down... and drink decaf hahah but seriously brother I'm loving both you and Matti posting videos about mental health. It's so important and not a lot of people even think to give mental health a thought. Also I gotta say its nice to see you doing dad stuff (as a fellow dad it warms my heart)

    • @MarcosRomero
      @MarcosRomero 2 роки тому +8

I had to do the same. Don’t drink decaf because of the acidity of coffee in general. I just didn’t pick up coffee at all or any caffeine because of my anxiety. Sucks because so many around me love coffee but it’s what’s best for me.

    • @seralegre

100% i quit coffe 6 weeks ago and I can really tell the difference regarding anxiety... and sleeping! btw, when you don't have caffeine in your body, you need less time of sleep because you get more deep sleep. And caffeine stay more than 12h after drinking the coffe

I watched this video twice cause it was so well put and so pertinent to my own and so many people's lives. Specially the part of trying to one up yourself the whole time. It's important to progress, but the pursuit can be detrimental at times. Respect.

I really enjoyed this episode. Love all the camera related topics - but it is quite refreshing to also see the "vlogging" side of your daily rutine. Nice touch showcasing your interacting with your kids, and still keeping it private - not showing frontal footage but below head and back angle.. Great topic and great video! Keep it up.

Oh this hits me in the heart so well this year I fully reached my breaking point… quit my job and fell into a deep depression so my professional life has plummeted but now my personal life is doing so much better and big changes are happening so I’m excited about the future again :)

Pete, great advice. I was hitting it hard shooting weddings weekend in 2020. Nov got hit with COVID and with all the stress from 2020 and running myself hard with no breaks for months, when I got sick, I never recovered. COVID to long COVID to Chronic fatigue syndrome. Body didn’t give me a choice. It just sat me down and said you are going to rest for 10 months. Getting better but man treat your body well or it will make you. Thanks a bunch!

Beautiful family! Glad you took some time to enjoy yourself and your family. Just 2 days ago we received news that a friend that is deployed took her own life. With everything going on in 2020/2021, life is hard for everyone and I’m glad that you took your time and used your platform to talk about health/ mental health and share that it is truly ok to get help and to better yourself. Everyone is always worried about eating right and exercising but we don’t spend enough time on our mental health. Thank you Peter.

Blows my mind how you’re always dropping the thing I need most WHEN I need it. Just got over being HELLA sick which was definitely a result of burnout and exhaustion. Happy to hear you of all people talk about this kind of thing. Absolutely a discussion that we need more of in this community and at this point in society when “grind culture” is so trendy. 🖤 Thanks for trying to lead the way.

Thank you for admitting this, so important. I've had a panic attack, a few almost ones that I was able to downgrade in time ( I had googled things to do to help come down from it turning full blown attack) Also, I've had shingles from too much stress. Great reminder to take down time. Hope this video helps many in your audience. Thank you for all you do for us subs and viewers.

Peter! Great video dude. Touching on the panic attack subject. It has happen to me too more than often.. now I know how to cope with it and in a way get along with it.. for me personally certain circumstances or substances can trigger those panic attacks to surface. Overwork, Overthinking, lack of sleep, hangovers, too much caffeine im a coffee lover as well btw :) but what helps me to overcome anxiety is exercise, meditation, and specially good night sleeps. I hope this helps someone. And thank you Peter and cousin for sharing this.

I appreciate the honesty. We need more people like you (famous) to normalize talking about mental health and seeking care. There shouldn’t be stigma associated with it but there still is and you’re helping to break that down.

I used Better Help for about 2 months and I was utterly disappointed. I was pointed in the direction of an AA support group several times even after telling the lady there are none where I live and that my problem had nothing to do with addiction.
Repeatedly failing to hear me did not Help and didn't make things Better.

Long time viewer. Just wanted to say this was one of the best videos I've seen you put together. It felt different because it was different, and you took time to talk about something serious going on in your life. I've had my fair share of panic attacks and they're no joke. One of the things I can recommend is to lower your caffeine intake (I quit caffeine all together), but that will definitely help in settling your nerves. Also, deep breathing exercises really help, and even meditation. I feel noticeably lighter when I meditate, journal, work out, etc. Try to do something for yourself every morning before you start your day (even a walk around your neighborhood will do you wonders). It gets better, but you gotta put in the work. Therapy is wonderful and I recommend it to everyone, even if it's just once a month. Having someone to talk to, who's not directly linked to you really allows you to open up, and you'll learn things about yourself you never knew.
Much love Peter. Again, awesome video.
