I was taught to use the sound as in the French word tu to get the basic tongue position. Also, playing overtones without the register key throughout the range of the clarinet will get you in the ballpark and teach you more things about voicing as well, trying to match the overtones with with the the same notes using the register key.

That the lower teeth should stand in the direction of the upper teeth
If "shhhh" does not work for you, try "heeeee"
