When this song came out, i was like i wish i could play this song. At the time i did not know anything about a guitar. I saw your video and i was like he teaches very well. Like i can do this with your video tutorial. So i bought a guitar and started to learn how to play a guitar. Once i got the basics down, i started with your video next... and within a few weeks i was able to play it well! Thank you for all you do in sharing your knowledge and instruction!!! May the Lord God bless you Brian!!!
That's awesome. I just found this and I am trying to learn this but I suck right now but I got the feeling for it so I should be able to get it down soon
Hey I think I’m kind of in the same boat as you, I’m just trying to learn different chords at the moment and is that what you would consider to be the “basics” when you first started learning?
This tutorial is great!! I'm fourteen, and this is one of my favorite worship songs. When I was listening to this at church, I thought, "Man, those chords sound really good!" So I found and old guitar, fixed it up, and this is my second day and I can play half of the song (decently😂). But I'm completely new to guitar, and this tutorial actually taught me how to play chords for the first time. Good job, Brian!!
I’m only 12 and learning this is way easier than other tutorials I can’t believe but I actually sound pretty good too! I hear this song at five camp this year and it really spoke to me so I am trying to learn it
There are a few factors in playing worship guitar . One place I discovered that successfully combines these is the Worship Fixer Formula (google it if you're interested) definately the best resource that I have ever heard of. Check out the interesting information .
Brian I just want you to know you have helped me so much with your videos! I play for my praise and worship team and every time I get into a bind i come to your page and put you repeat until I can get it! I hope God continues to bless for doing this page! I hope I cross paths with you one day sir!
Brian, your tutorials are amazing. You are a great teacher of guitar and explain things better than anyone I've witnessed before. I pray that you continue to tutor us minions for a long time to come, your a natural. God bless.
Great worship song & nice job. The d major sounds better in the first position. IMHO d dsus d2 mixed in different places adds variety but doesn't muddy it up to much. All about Jesus! Praise God!
Lyrics: I searched the world But it couldn't fill me Man's empty praise And treasures that fade Are never enough Then You came along And put me back together And every desire Is now satisfied Here in Your love (Hey) Oh, there's nothing better than You There's nothing better than You Lord, there's nothing Nothing is better than You (Oh, yes I know it's true) I'm not afraid To show You my weakness My failures and flaws Lord, You've seen 'em all And You still call me friend 'Cause the God of the mountain Is the God of the valley There's not a place Your mercy and grace Won't find me again Oh, there's nothing better than You There's nothing better than You Lord, there's nothing Nothing is better than You (I know it's true) Oh, there's nothing better than You There's nothing better than You Lord, there's nothing Nothing is better than You You turn mourning to dancing You give beauty for ashes You turn shame into glory You're the only one who can You turn mourning to dancing You give beauty for ashes You turn shame into glory You're the only one who can You turn graves into garden You turn bones into armies You turn seas into highways You're the only one who can You're the only one who can Oh, there's nothing better than You There's nothing better than You Lord, there's nothing Nothing is better than You Oh, there's nothing better than You There's nothing better than You Lord, there's nothing Nothing is better than You You turn graves into gardens You turn bones into armies You turn seas into highways You're the only one who can You turn graves into gardens You turn bones into armies You turn seas into highways You're the only one who can You're the only one who can You're the only one who can You turn mourning to dancing You give beauty for ashes You turn shame into glory You're the only one who can You turn graves into gardens You turn bones into armies You turn seas into highways You're the only one who can You turn graves into gardens You turn bones into armies You turn seas into highways You're the only one who can You're the only one who can You're the only one who can
This was His perfect timing. I was literally practicing this song and thought to check youtube and just so happen to see this video! Thanks for this!!!
Whoa, I feel like I can learn to play songs now because of this channel! So thankful I found this. I love this song and look forward to more of your videos. We’ve been hosting small group and church in our home and haven’t had anyone who can play the guitar, this gives me hope! So awesome. Subscribing and following along. My kids love it too.
I love your tutorials Brian, thanks so much for delivering quality FREE content for His glory bud! If I'm looking to learn a new tune, I look for your version first. Thanks for all you do Brian, its truly appreciate brother!!
Thanks so much!! I did much better with this song than I had expected, thanks to how well you explain and demonstrate everything - You’re a great teacher and musician!!!
Dang Brian, you're an awesome teacher! And the video edit is slick. I love the easy to read chords on the dark background. Geesh, wish I had tutorials like this when I was a kid. That helped sooo much. TY!
1:02 its a still techniclaly a g major but has an extra D or 5 (B string) so has more of a power chordy feel but theres still a B (or major 3) on the A string so still a standard major chord
Faramir ofgondor ha yep. I corrected myself later in the video (in the chorus section). I always want to call that chord a Gadd-something, but it’s still just a G 😅.
Thanks for the tutorial man. Appreciate it. I like that you always mention the keys the original songs are at. I'm a bit on a newbie, so I'm like oh my god they are all singing so high. And then you say, I can't do it either and this is what suits me. It's a great leveller. :)
Sir, it is you who always inspired me to sing a Christian gospel songs. And, I would also be very grateful to if you could kindly upload a tutorial for the song 'Lord of my life' by Matt.
great tutorial, but leading this song in Church (and in the official Tabs) you emphasize C into G the whole time through the bridges including the third lines, but instead of going C into G, you go C into Em. i may be wrong but i hear an extra chord in that spot to make me think its what that is. its such a easy and transitioning song that you probably couldnt notice either way. just fyi everybody
I'm 13 and trying to put together a youthgroup worship team and the first few weeks did not going well. I did this song and the room just started singing.
Nice Gibson. Pickguard 😁 love it. Sound great. I have a Yamaha F 325. About 25 yrs old. Sounds great also but no comparison to Gibson or Martin. I ll put Taylor next. Mi opinion de Guitarrista Acustico😀
Awesome tutorial. Thank you so much for doing these. Not sure where you take requests, so I'll make it here. I'd love to see a tutorial of Famous For (I Believe) by Tauren Wells. But, obviously, in a lower key. God bless and keep you!!
The counts for each chord really help, does anyone have the counts for the Intro, verses, instrumental, etc.? I especially mean when he said "G two, three, four, five six. G two, three, C, four, five, six." That kind of explanation helps a lot
Hi. Have you watched the Elevation Worship's tutorial on their resources channel? They speak out the counts aloud. I'm not sure about the specific parts you want, but they also have a metronome playing audibly in the background. That could help you in counting the intervals. Hope that helps.
Thank you for the lesson....but a ton of talking in this one....I love the way you go right into the song .....must have had a few cups of coffee before this one LoL 😂
I just purchased a baritone ukulele and it seems the chords are very close to a guitar. I've been working on this song for a bit, 60 years old, no experience, would you say this is a good one to start with or are there others you would suggest?
To change what key you play in you’ll need a capo. to play it in the key of b you’d put it on the 4th fret and play the same chords he does in the video, the key of b is higher than g. The key of g is with no capo.
And a key is basically the group of pitches, or scale, that forms the basis of a song. So you’d change the key to match the pitch of everything else. So if the pitch was higher then you’d go into a higher key using a capo but if it’s lower you just lower or take the capo off or tune down.
Please, please fix that hole in your Gibson! Yes it's cosmetic, but I kringed when I saw it was made due to the pick guard having been removed at some point. Great guitar instruction as always! I just hate to see a fine instrument like yours having any damage!
Hi. I'm a beginner. I watched part of this tutorial after having watched and tried to follow EW's tutorial. Yes, this version seems simpler to me. But if you look closely at the chord shapes in the Elevation Worship's tutorial, they are pretty much the same but with the capo on the fourth fret. It's still in the same key, I think. I'm not an expert in this. Some shapes a bit different but sound almost the same. For instance, the C shape here has an extra pinky fingering in EW. This just means you have more anchor points and less finger movement. That said, the Dsus4 in EW is more complicated for me. This version here seems easier. Also, like he said, the original is in another key. If you go to EW resources website for chords, you will find them to be different. Not related to the video tutorial. I was totally confused. Hope I didn't confuse you with this long explainer.

Lyrics:
I searched the world
But it couldn't fill me
Man's empty praise
And treasures that fade
Are never enough
Then You came along
And put me back together
And every desire
Is now satisfied
Here in Your love (Hey)
Oh, there's nothing better than You
There's nothing better than You
Lord, there's nothing
Nothing is better than You
(Oh, yes I know it's true)
I'm not afraid
To show You my weakness
My failures and flaws
Lord, You've seen 'em all
And You still call me friend
'Cause the God of the mountain
Is the God of the valley
There's not a place
Your mercy and grace
Won't find me again
Oh, there's nothing better than You
There's nothing better than You
Lord, there's nothing
Nothing is better than You
(I know it's true)
Oh, there's nothing better than You
There's nothing better than You
Lord, there's nothing
Nothing is better than You
You turn mourning to dancing
You give beauty for ashes
You turn shame into glory
You're the only one who can
You turn mourning to dancing
You give beauty for ashes
You turn shame into glory
You're the only one who can
You turn graves into garden
You turn bones into armies
You turn seas into highways
You're the only one who can
You're the only one who can
Oh, there's nothing better than You
There's nothing better than You
Lord, there's nothing
Nothing is better than You
Oh, there's nothing better than You
There's nothing better than You
Lord, there's nothing
Nothing is better than You
You turn graves into gardens
You turn bones into armies
You turn seas into highways
You're the only one who can
You turn graves into gardens
You turn bones into armies
You turn seas into highways

Correct...its a combination of a Barred "G" and G major in the first inversion. No special chord.
I love the lyrics, so true

Thank you for the lesson....but a ton of talking in this one....I love the way you go right into the song .....must have had a few cups of coffee before this one LoL 😂
thank you :)
Please can you make a tutorial for Great Things
Brian and I have the same approach to every Elevation Song. Put it in G haha =)
I just purchased a baritone ukulele and it seems the chords are very close to a guitar. I've been working on this song for a bit, 60 years old, no experience, would you say this is a good one to start with or are there others you would suggest?
Beginner here. I’m not understanding the strum pattern on the short Cs. It’s shorter than the D UDUD UDU. Is it D UDU?
Please do ‘my testimony’ by E worship!
I love the whole new album! And your work is awesome!
Thank you! I’m a beginner, so i’ve got a basic question for anyone: what is a key, and how do I play in one?
To change what key you play in you’ll need a capo. to play it in the key of b you’d put it on the 4th fret and play the same chords he does in the video, the key of b is higher than g. The key of g is with no capo.

Brian, do you have a tutorial for Rattle? Live the songs you do. And how you teach them.
you can teach GREAT I AM in the tone of: C do new life worship .. please.❤
Is that the Gibson that Jeremy Sheppard had ? seems like I've seem that guitar before.
Can we keep to the basics. I’m just learning and find it confusing that you jump between different keys for the same note.
That Gibson is nice! Was wondering what strings are on it?
Brown Patterson thanks! I’ve got D’Addario Phospher Bronze Light (12’s) on it
Metal. Probably Gibson s recomended sounds best but any 10 to 15 sound great if changed every 3 months😁
Will there be individual song patches for the pod go?
Tnx bro
Please, please fix that hole in your Gibson! Yes it's cosmetic, but I kringed when I saw it was made due to the pick guard having been removed at some point.
Great guitar instruction as always! I just hate to see a fine instrument like yours having any damage!
Are these chords a simplified version? Cuz I was looking at the ones on Elevation Worships page and theyre a lil different
